Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for electroacoustic amplification of a string instrument with a tailpiece button and with a pickup device attached to the string instrument via a holder, which pickup device can be connected to an amplifier via leads guided through the hollow tailpiece button.
In order to enable direct electroacoustic amplification, for example in the case of a violin, it was previously necessary to temporarily attach a microphone to the tailpiece near the bridge of the violin. With such conventional clip-on microphones, an occasionally desired electroacoustic sound amplification could be achieved with string instruments. Such direct sound amplification can be necessary in particular for the purpose of studio effects or concerts under unfavorable acoustic conditions, such as outdoor concerts.
In this known device, however, there is a risk that the arrangement will be touched or even repelled when the game is moving intensely. In addition, the sound result is unsatisfactory, since external influences such as bow or breathing noises from the musician are undesirably amplified. The device also represents an undesirable foreign body which - in addition to the fact that it is visually disturbing - can inhibit the musician's artistic development.
A device avoiding the disadvantages mentioned above is known from DE-PS 966 106. A hollow tailpiece button for a string instrument is described there, through which leads are led to a pickup device. Where this pickup device is located in or on the string instrument This publication does not mention what means are needed to fix it there. But the question of the bracket is a problem that should be solved optimally so as not to disturb the sound of the string instrument.
The invention is therefore based on the object to develop the known device so that the pickup device can be attached to a string instrument in an extremely simple manner. Another object is to provide a device that can be removed from the stringed instrument in just a few simple steps.
This object is achieved in that the pickup device is a microphone and that this microphone is arranged in the interior of the body of the stringed instrument and is held by the hollow tailpiece button.
Weiterbildungen der Erfindung sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Developments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
The invention takes particular advantage of the fact that a string holder button is present in any case with stringed instruments. This tailpiece button is used for string instruments to attach the tailpiece string. Based on this finding, the invention proposes to replace this custom tailpiece button with a hollow tailpiece button, which at the same time serves as a holder for a microphone to be inserted into the body of the string instrument. The microphone located in the hollow tailpiece button can be removed at any time and the remaining cavity can be replaced with a blind plug, for example.
- 1) - the higher sound pressure inside the string instrument improves the quality of the amplification,
- 2) - the characteristic sound of the string instrument comes into its own,
- 3) - external noise influences are largely eliminated by placing the microphone inside the body of the string instrument,
- 4) - the undesired electroacoustic feedback is avoided,
- 5) - the microphone is also optimally protected in the string instrument and
- 6) - the player is no longer hindered, with the exception of the system-related cable connection, i.e. the electrical supply to the amplifier.
The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment in connection with three figures for use in a violin. However, the invention is not limited to violins. Rather, the invention can be used with any kind of stringed instruments that have a tailpiece button anyway. In a cello, for example, this is a support spike.

Vorzugsweise weist der Stecker 5 und die Buchse 6 einen Bajonettverschluß auf.1 shows a first exemplary embodiment of a device according to the invention in a plan view of the
Der hohle Saitenhalterknopf 1 ist im Schaft des Klotzes 4 eingeklemmt.2 shows the side view of FIG. 1 of the device according to the invention. The already known reference symbols will continue to be used for identical parts. Since the
In contrast, FIG. 3c shows the microphone 3 already described, which is now fastened in a
Instead of a screw connection between the hollow tailpiece button and
With the design of the
The main advantages of such a design of the
Finally, it is pointed out that, instead of the
It has been found that an optimal sound result is achieved if the microphone is held 3-10 mm, preferably 5 mm, from the end of the hollow tailpiece button.
A transmitter unit for wireless transmission can also be used as an amplifier.
This system is generally applicable to all string instruments that are equipped with a tailpiece knob or can be equipped with one.
