Description

The invention relates to a roller for a roller furnace, in particular for the heat treatment of slabs, the roller having supporting rings at intervals and thermal insulation being arranged between the supporting rings.

In the case of roller furnaces, the slabs rest on the support rings and are transported through the roller furnace by means of the rollers for heat treatment. The interior of the roll is usually water-cooled. On the one hand, the thermal insulation is intended to protect the roll against the hot slab. On the other hand, it should prevent the slab from cooling down.

In DE 32 31 736 C2 is a jacket for the insulation of a cooled sliding, support or cross tube in an oven described. In order to adapt the top and bottom of the tube to the respective stresses, molded bodies on the underside of a ceramic fiber material and molded bodies on the upper side of the tube made of a high-strength ceramic are provided. This structure is unsuitable for rotating rollers. Preformed insulation bodies result in joints in the thermal insulation of the roll. Such joints would affect the effectiveness of the heat insulation.

Moldings for insulating pipes are also described in DE 31 25 440 A1 and DE 36 09 047 A1. Such moldings are unsuitable for rollers because they can hardly withstand the dynamic loads of a rotating roller and a joint formation can be expected.

The object of the invention is to propose a role of the type mentioned, the thermal insulation is constructed so that it withstands the dynamic loads on the role and the thermal loads arising from the goods to be transported (slab).

According to the invention the above object is achieved in a roll of the type mentioned in that a needled first fiber mat is placed on the circumference of the roll between the support rings, that a fiber spray compound is sprayed onto the first fiber mat, which contains a binder that the fiber spray compound by means of Binder with the first Fiber mat is connected and that a pre-compressed second fiber mat is located laterally between the support rings and the fiber spray compound.

The fiber molding compound has favorable thermal insulation properties. As a result, the slab transported on the support rings of the roll and the roll are largely decoupled from one another in terms of heat technology, so that neither the slab is cooled from the roll nor the roll is heated by the slab.

Since the fiber spraying compound extends over the entire circumference and is seamless in itself, it is avoided that scale of the slab or alkali residues of continuous casting powders of the slab can damage the roll.

The fiber spray compound is held securely on the roll, since the first fiber mat, by virtue of its bond with the fiber spray compound, stabilizes the hold of the fiber spray compound on the roll and is itself solidified by the binder of the fiber spray compound migrating into it. The fiber spray compound withstands the centrifugal forces which arise during the rotation of the roller and the forces which occur during the accelerations of the roller, without breaking out partially.

The pre-compressed, second fiber mat permanently closes the itself between the fiber molding compound and the support rings existing or emerging joints. Even a shrinkage of the fiber spray compound does not lead to open joints between the latter and the support rings, since the pre-compressed fiber mat adapts to joints.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, metal tensioning bands are placed around the roller, to which retaining anchors for the fiber spray compound are attached. This further stabilizes the fiber spray compound on the roll.

The tension band is preferably tightened to the roller by means of screws. This eliminates the need for welded connections between the roller and the holding anchors.

Further advantageous refinements of the invention result from the subclaims and the following description of an exemplary embodiment. The drawing shows:
Figure 1

Figure 2
a longitudinal section along the line II-II of Figure 1 in partial view.

A metallic roller (1) has several metallic support rings (2) distributed over its length. Each support ring (2) consists of two spaced flange ring parts (3), one between them used ring body (4) and a tread part (5) attached to this.

Metallic straps (6) are placed around the roller (1) between two adjacent support rings (2). Each strap (6) has angled ends (7). These are braced against each other by means of a screw-nut connection (8) in such a way that the tensioning strap (6) is firmly attached to the roller (1).

Jeder Halteanker (9) besteht aus einem Haltestift (10), der an das Spannband (6) angeschweißt ist und einem auf dem Haltestift (10) verrasteten flächigen Klemmstück (11).Several, for example eight, holding anchors (9) are welded to the tension band (6) on its circumference, only two of which are shown in FIG. 1. Each retaining anchor (9) consists of a retaining pin (10) which is welded to the tension band (6) and a flat clamping piece (11) which is locked on the retaining pin (10).

Diese durchsticht dabei die Haltestifte (10).After the tensioning straps (6) have been fastened to the roller (1), before the clamping pieces (11) are placed, a first needled, binder-free fiber mat (12) made of ceramic fibers (12) is placed between the support rings (2). Blanket). This pierces the retaining pins (10).

Precompressed second fiber mats (13) made of ceramic fibers are placed on the side of the support rings (2). The fiber mat (13) is a fiber mat of low initial density, which is compressed from this initial density with a thickness of approximately 50 mm by moistening to a thickness of 10 mm.

After the flat clamping pieces (11) have been placed on the holding pins (10), a fiber spray compound (14) made of ceramic fibers is sprayed on between the second fiber mats (13) and on the first fiber mat (12). It is suitable for this an injection molding compound that contains colloidal SiO₂ as a binder. This fiber mass must then be dried in order to achieve its final strength. A fiber cement made of ceramic fibers with a hydraulically setting binder is also suitable as a fiber spray compound. This reaches its strength even at room temperature.

Darüber hinaus stabilisieren die Klemmstücke (11) die Faserspritzmasse (14).The binder of the sprayed-on fiber spray compound (14) partially penetrates into the first fiber mat (12), so that on the one hand the first fiber mat (12) solidifies and on the other hand a bond is established between it and the fiber spray compound (14) so that the fiber spray compound ( 14) is held securely on the circumference of the roller (1). In addition, the clamping pieces (11) stabilize the fiber molding compound (14).

The wall thickness of the fiber spray compound (14) is substantially greater, for example by a factor of 7 to 10, than that of the first fiber mat (12).

Shrinkage of the fiber spray compound (14) in the longitudinal direction of the roll (1) is compensated for by the pre-compressed second fiber mats (13). Overall, there is crack and joint-free thermal insulation of the roll (1), the fiber spray compound (14) also shocks and vibrations when transporting slabs over the support rings (2) and withstand the centrifugal forces that occur.

If necessary, the fiber spray compound (14) can be provided with a ceramic coating on its surface.

There is an annular space between the flange ring parts (3) of each support ring (2). Before the flange ring parts (3) are put together on the roll (1), layers of ceramic fiber fleece (15) with a latex bond are used. This provides additional thermal insulation between the ring body (4) or the tread part (5) and the roller (1).
