Ignition device for combustion engines, having a high-voltage distributor (11) which contains a distributor cap (12) made of insulating material with a centre electrode (13) and a plurality of fixed electrodes (14), which electrodes (13, 14) each have a connection (19), which connections (19) are each surrounded concentrically by a dome (16) which projects out of the distributor cap (12), having ignition distributor plugs (22) which can be plugged onto the electrodes (13, 14) and which, during this process, can be coupled, by in each case one contacting component (26) which can be inserted into the dome (16), to the connection (19) by means of a locking connection element (27), characterized in that each of the ignition distributor plugs (22) is surrounded by an insulating element (23) which surrounds the dome (16) externally, forms part of the base body of the ignition distributor plug (22) and bounds a plugging-in travel of the ignition distributor plug (22), during which travel the coupling by means of the locking connection element (27) takes place, by bearing against a spatially fixed part, connected to the distributor cap (12), while enclosing the dome (16), and an axially movable unlocking component (33) is provided on the connection (19), by means of which unlocking component (33) the locking connection element (27) can be moved, after removal of the insulating element (23) from the ignition distributor plug (22), in the course of a further plugging-in movement of the ignition distributor plug (22), out of its locking position in order to permit the ignition distributor plug (22) to be disconnected from the high-voltage distributor (11).

Ignition device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the locking connection element (27) is formed by a clip spring which is capable of springing apart on the circumferential side and is mounted on the contacting component (26), and the contacting component (26) is a component which can be plugged over the connection (19) and is radially bounded by a wall (31) which has a partially circumferential slot (29) by means of which the locking connection element (27) projects with a part of its circumferential extent into an annular groove (28) on the connection (19) in the plugged-in position of the ignition distributor plug (22).
  3. Ignition system according to Claim 2, characterized in that the annular groove (28) is radially bounded by a groove bottom (36) which is formed by the outer surface of a cylindrical section (34) of the connection (19) and is axially bounded, on the one hand by a shoulder (35) which is mounted at the end of an ignition distributor plug side guide component (32) of the connection (19), which guide component (32) is mounted on the section (34) and projects beyond the latter axially and radially at least partially and, on the other hand, by an end-side run-up slope (37) of a sliding ring which is constructed as an unlocking component (33) and which can be displaced on the cylindrical section (34) between the shoulder (35) of the guide component (33) and a fixed step (18) and the locking connection element (27) can be pushed onto the unlocking component (33) and can be displaced together therewith after the destruction of the insulating element (23) or of the spatially fixed component.
  4. Ignition device according to Claim 3, characterized in that the run-up slope (37) extends from an external surface (39) of the unlocking component (33) as far as the groove bottom (36) and forms a sliding angle (41) with respect to a normal line (38) on a longitudinal axis (17) of the connection (19).
  5. Ignition system according to Claim 4, characterized in that the sliding angle (41) is between 30 degrees and 75 degrees.
  6. Ignition system according to Claim 5, characterized in that the shoulder (35) is complementary to the run-up slope (37).
  7.
