Das Höhenverstellen der Werkzeuge im Hinblick auf die Besonderheiten des Buches ist Teil des Einrichtens der Maschine. Eine wesentliche Grösse für das Einrichten der Maschine ist dabei der notwendige, sogenannte Aushang der fertig bearbeiteten Buchblockrücken, das heisst, das Vorstehen der Buchblockrücken aus den Klemmzangen nach unten. Der Aushang richtet sich zur Hauptsache nach der Ausbildung der an die Buchblockrücken anzubringenden Umschläge. Insbesondere die Höhe der seitlichen Verklebung mit dem Buchblock bestimmt dabei den minimalen Aushang. Der Einrichter der Maschine ist bestrebt, den Aushang so klein wie möglich zu halten, da mit grösser werdendem Aushang eine saubere Bearbeitung der Buchrücken erschwert oder verunmöglicht wird. Dies führt nun dazu, dass der Einrichter praktisch bei jeder Umstellung auf ein andersartiges Buch sämtliche Bearbeitungsstationen neu einstellen muss. Zur Erleichterung des Einrichtens sind bei bekannten Maschinen die Bearbeitungsstationen mit Skalen oder anderen Geräten zum Anzeigen der eingestellten Höhe (mit Bezug auf eine zur Umlaufebene der Zangen parallele Ebene) ausgerüstet. Die an einer Bearbeitungsstation angezeigten Werte geben aber dem Einrichter keinen direkten Hinweis auf die Einstellung der Bearbeitungsebene dieser Station mit Bezug auf den Aushang oder mit Bezug auf die Bearbeitungsebenen anderer Bearbeitungsstationen. Muss beispielsweise der Aushang um 3 Millimeter grösser als die Standardeinstellung gewählt werden, zeigt die Anzeige bei einer Leimwalze 4 Millimeter obwohl nur 1 Millimeter Leim aufgetragen wird. Dies gilt entsprechend auch für alle anderen Bearbeitungsstationen. Der Einrichter ist also gezwungen, jede Bearbeitungsstation einzeln einzustellen und die Einstellwerte abhängig vom Aushang auszurechnen. Dieses Vorgehen ist zeitaufwendig und bringt zudem die Gefahr von Einstellfehlern mit sich. Claims (4)

  1. A device for the adhesive binding of books and brochures, in which the book blocks (8) are conveyed successively over a plurality of processing stations (1 to 6) and at the same time are held between clamping elements (7), wherein the edges of the clamping elements (7) facing the processing stations (1 to 6) lie in a plane of movement (7') and the distances from the working planes (1' to 6') of the processing stations (1 to 6) to the plane of movement (7') can be set individually by setting devices (19 to 28), characterised in that in addition to the setting devices (19 to 28) an adjusting apparatus (14, 17, 18) is present, by means of which the distances of the working planes (1' to 6') of all the processing stations (1 to 6) from the plane of movement (7') are jointly adjustable, that the adjusting apparatus (14, 17, 18) comprises a support (14) which is displaceable in a part (15) of the machine tool table towards the plane of movement (7') or away from the latter, on which support (14) the individually settable tools of the processing stations (1 to 6) are mounted, and that a feed drive (17, 18) acting towards the plane of movement (7') is present between the support (14) and the said part (15) of the machine tool table.
  2. A device according to claim 1, characterised in that the support (14) comprises a reference plane (16) facing the plane of movement (7') and parallel thereto, in relation to which reference plane the working planes (1' to 6') of the processing stations (1 to 6) can be set, wherein the distance of the reference plane (16) from the plane of movement (7') can be adjusted by means of the adjusting apparatus (14, 17, 18).
  3. A device according to claim 2, characterised in that the setting devices (19 to 28) of the processing stations (1 to 6) and the adjusting apparatus (14, 17, 18) of the support (14) are each provided with an indicating device (31; 32) for indicating a set value or adjusted value with respect to the reference plane (16) of the support (14) and the plane of movement (7') of the clamping elements, respectively.
  4. A device according to claim 3, characterised in that the indicating devices (31, 32) are part of a controller (29) provided with a keyboard (30) and a computer.
