Claims (10)

  1. A screw extruder (1) for the extrusion of fibrous materials, especially waste paper, comprising an extrusion screw (3) overhung on the side of the drive and driven over a gearing by a driving engine, said extrusion screw comprising a cylindrical conveyance section arranged in an open screw trough and an extrusion section arranged in an extrusion die (6) that narrows in a tapered manner in the direction of conveyance towards its outlet opening, said extrusion die comprising over at least a part of its narrowing panels (22) and grooves (23) and at the outlet opening of said extrusion die adjoining directly the jaws (8, 8') of a jaw press (9), of which one is fixed and the other movable jaw is opened and closed being controlled by the extent of the pression of the extruded material at the outlet opening (14), caracterised in that the extrusion die (6) comprises a conical narrowing front region (12) - seen in the direction of conveyance (11) - which includes the panels (22) and grooves (23) and an adjoining, in the direction of conveyance (11) slightly conically widening, outlet region (13) that ends in an outlet opening (14), the extrusion section (5) of the extrusion screw (3) ending between both regions (12 and 13) in a compaction region (17) in which the gooves (23) end and in that the extrusion die (6) is provided on one side with an opening (19) that - beginning at the outlet opening (14) of the extrusion die (6) over a considerable part of the circumference (25) of said outlet opening - is extending against the direction of conveyance (11) up to the end of the compaction region (17) of the front region (12) - seen in the dircetion of conveyance - of the extrusion die (6), said opening (19) being covered by an extension piece (21) of the movable jaw (8') of the jaw press (9) that directly adjoins the outlet opening (14) and the opening (19).

A screw extruder according to the preceding claim, caracterised in that the extrusion die (6) is provided with an extrusion insert (7) comprising a front region (12) - seen in the direction of conveyance (11) - conically narrowing in the direction of conveyance (1) and in the interior wall (24) of which the panels (22) and grooves (23) are designed and which adjoins an outlet region (13) slightly widening towards the outlet opening (14) and being provided with an opening (19) that occupies a large part of the circumference (25) at the outlet opening (14) and that extends at the beginning in a flat manner and then in a steeper manner in relation to the axis (18) of the extrusion die (6) outwards up to the end of the compaction region (17) between the front region (12) and the outlet region (13) of the extrusion insert (7) and in that the jaws (8, 8') of the jaw press (9) adjoin closely the outlet opening (14) and the opening (19).

A screw extruder according to one of both preceding claims, caracterised in that the opening (19) at the outlet opening (14) of the extrusion die (6) - beginning in one axial plane (20) through the axis (18) of the extrusion die (6) - extends against the direction of conveyance (11) at the beginning in a flat manner and then in a steeper manner and that it ends in a tangential plane (30) onto the front region (12) - seen in the direction of conveyance (11) - of the extrusion die (6) at an acute angle with the axial plane (29).

A screw extruder according to one of the preceding claims, caracterised in that between the front region (12) - seen in the direction of conveyance (11) - and the outlet region (13) of the extrusion die (6) or of the extrusion insert (7) a cylindrical or slightly widened transitional region (15) is provided in which the grooves (23) end in a substantially flattening manner.
  5. A screw extruder according to one of the preceding claims, caracterised in that the opening (19) is designed with an edge (26) declining outwards that is provided in order to enlarge its breadth (27).
  6. A screw extruder according to one of the preceding claims, caracterised in that the rigidly arranged jaw (8) and the movable jaw (8') each comprise a sheet for press-work (34, 34') that is slightly squared off outwards for a small part (32, 32') of it at that end that is directed towards the opening (19).
  7. A screw extruder according to one of the preceding claims, caracterised in that the opening (19) is closed by the movable jaw (8') of the jaw press (9) or by the sheet for press-work (34') of said jaw press, said jaw being lengthened and its shape being adjusted to the shape of the opening (19).
  8. A screw extruder according to the preceding claim, caracterised in that the movable jaw (8') or its sheet for press-work (34') is slightly squared off outwards for a small part (32') of it at that end (31') that is directed towards the edge (26) of the opening (19) and that it rests with its interior edge (33') upon the edge (26) of the opening (19) in the normal position of the jaw (8').
  9. A screw extruder according to one of the preceding claims, caracterised in that the movable jaw (8') is controlled in its movement at the increase of the pression in a manner that it carries out an axial movement in the direction of conveyance (11) and in the direction of the axis (18) of the extrusion die (6) and/or the extrusion insert (7) and that it carries omit at the same time an axial movement vertically thereto, said vertical axial movement being considerably slighter in the region of the opening (19) than at a growing distance from it.
  10. A screw extruder according to one of the preceding claims, caracterised in that the movable jaw (8') is moved by a controlled adjusting device by means of a mechanical linkage.
