Abstract

The combustion device consists of a cylindrical container (1), in which bundles of heat-exchange pipes (7) are arranged in an annular chamber (18). While the media flow to be treated is supplied through the heat-exchange pipes (7) to a burner (13), the discharge of the heated treated media flow takes place over the heat-exchange pipes (7) and flows around these. As a result, the heat-exchange pipes (7) are exposed to changes in length which are compensated by the heat-echange pipes (7) being provided in the inflow-side end region with Z-shaped or S-shaped double bends (8-8). Connecting pieces (9) between the double bends (8-8) are inclined tangentially to a circle, the central point of which lies in the central axis of the container (1). As a result, the connecting pieces (9) can be dimensioned comparatively long, as a result of which particularly large changes in length of the heat-exchange pipes (7) can be compensated in a very elastic manner.
