  • the elastic 5 can be folded over inward along at least one longitudinal edge.
  • Figure 3 shows an embodiment whereby the elastic along both longitudinal edges is folded over inward and is connected to the fitted sheet 1 by means of one seam 6 through the folded over parts 7 and 8.
  • the parts 9 and 10 folded over inward preferably extend over the entire length of the sides of the U-shape.
