Abstract

In a firing furnace with a burner port (1) which is to be fastened to a furnace wall, in particular a furnace roof, and which surrounds the flame of the burner, and at least one anchor (3) anchoring the burner port, it is envisaged that the anchor, on the outside of the burner port (1), on the latter, engages with transverse arms (4) under an outer recess (11) or a circumferential holding collar, and on fastening is preferably tilted towards the burner axis (10), in order to pretension a one-part or multi-part burner port against the furnace wall or burner plate (2) and relative to the burner axis. <IMAGE>

Description

The innovation relates to a kiln with a burner block to be provided in a furnace wall, in particular in a furnace roof, which surrounds the flame of the burner and at least one clamp-tension screw anchor which anchors the burner block to a burner plate and engages in a recess on the outside of the burner block whose bolt reaching through the burner plate has a fastening nut or the like screwed on, as is known from the US Patent 2,791,977 is known. Such a burner block has a central, conically widening opening from which the flame of the burner emerges. The face of the burner block is aligned with the inside surface of the furnace wall or ceiling. Such a burner block is generally angular or cylindrical on the outside. With its rear side, this burner block rests on a burner plate. Through these usually several anchors are sufficient, on the screwing nuts of which are screwed, which rests on the outside of the burner plate and thus push the burner block against the furnace wall. It has been shown that the lifespan of the burner blocks so fastened does not always meet expectations because front parts of the burner block are flaking off.

This is also the case with burner stones in which the anchoring takes place from the outside (US Pat. No. 1,666,511) in that angle irons connected to the burner plate by a cap screw each engage with slots angled in radially to the burner axis in the slots machined on the outside of the burner stones. The burner block and the angle iron are surrounded by an outer, strong ceramic ring.

The invention has for its object to develop the kiln in such a way that the life of the burner stone is increased.

A design of the kiln that solves this problem is characterized in claim 1. Advantageous refinements result from the subclaims.

The formation of the burner stone in connection with the fastening anchor not only leads to a firm anchoring which holds the burner stone from the outside, but also to holding the stone in a comparatively cool zone and to positive cohesion. Especially in the training according to the subclaims, the inclination of the contact surface of the armature on the burner plate ensures that when the nut or the like screwed onto the screw thread of the anchor bolt is tightened, the armature is tilted slightly in the radial direction of the burner axis and is thereby pushed against the burner block . This also applies to the embodiment with a split burner, in particular in four quadrants, in which the anchor is arranged in the joint, so that its arms protruding on both sides extend into corresponding recesses in the burner parts, but the four burner quadrants firmly press against each other, so that they behave like a single stone even without bricking. This design also has the advantage that only one of the quadrants can easily be replaced when worn, which was not possible with the previous type of attachment.

A burner block 1 consisting of four quadrants of the same size is fastened to a burner plate 2 in a furnace ceiling by means of clamping tie rods 3, which are provided with cross arms 4 and are designed as profile arms on a triangular main frame 6. The quadrants are tightened by means of a fastening bolt 8 which extends through a bore in the burner plate 2 and onto which a nut, not shown, is screwed, generally with the interposition of a washer. The top of the armature, which faces the underside of the burner plate 2, is slightly inclined with respect to the axis of the bolt 8 to the burner axis 10, so that when the nut is tightened, the cross arms 4 are pivoted together with the frame 6 to the burner axis 10 and thereby the Push burner block quadrant 1 not only towards the burner axis but also towards the burner plate or furnace ceiling. For this purpose, the transverse arms 4 reach under corresponding recesses 11 on the edge of the burner quarl, which also have corresponding recesses 12 for receiving the frame 6 of the armature, as can be seen in FIGS. 3 and 4. In addition, recesses 13 are provided on the top of the burner block, into which plates 14 can also be inserted, which enlarge the contact surface of the armature 3. Below these plates, the anchors can be used with their Bevels 15 against corresponding inclined surfaces 17 of the burner quartz quadrants are also brought into contact, although it is generally sufficient if the cross arms 4, which form a unitary casting with the frame 6 in the embodiment according to FIG. 2, reach under the burner bricks. In the embodiment of the clamp tie rod 3 designed as a welded construction, the laterally projecting transverse arms 4 are designed as round bars, while below the screw bolt 8 a transverse plate 20 is provided, with which the screw bolt is axially opposite the frame 21, which extends to the transverse arms 4 Burner axis is offset. The frame 21 is designed as a triangular metal plate, as can be seen in FIG. 7, on the underside of which a round bar, which forms the two transverse arms 4, is welded. The contact surface of the plate 20 is in turn inclined with respect to the axis of the bolt 8, which runs parallel to the burner axis, so that the clamping and clamping effect which can be seen in FIG. 1 is achieved when the nut is tightened.

A simple embodiment of the tie rod, which exhibits a lower radial clamping effect, results from FIGS. 8 to 9 in two side views. An elongated bolt 25 has at its lower end only a welded-on cross bar 26, which forms the two cross arms 4.

The burner quartz quadrants can form a stepped joint laterally, in that the lower half protrudes on one side and springs back on the other side, so that there is no radial continuous joint but a stepped joint.

In order to ensure the bracing of the armature against the quadrants, as an alternative to a beveling of the upper surface, a knob 16 or the like can also be provided on the radially outer side, that is to say in FIG. 1 approximately below reference number 2, which likewise leads to that when tightening the clamping nut the anchor is pivoted clockwise in the illustration in Fig. 1.

Instead of being fastened to the burner plate 2, the burner block can also be fastened to another suitable construction part which is provided for receiving the burner block. In this case too, it makes sense to provide a fixing pressure plate 14 which engages in the recess 13. It lies flat under an existing old burner plate in the recess 13 of the burner stone surface. This fixing pressure plate 14 has the advantage that not too much tension is exerted on the circumferential retaining collar 11 of the burner block and it fixes the burner block, which consists of, for example, four segment parts (quadrants), against opening to the outside. A generous recess in the upper outer burner block area ensures good tightness between the furnace roof and the burner block.

A fixing pressure plate 30 with a set screw 31 laterally offset with respect to the screw bolt according to FIG. 10 allows a split fuel brick 1 with four or more segments to be screwed to an existing burner plate 2 as an assembled unit after manufacture, for which purpose the nuts 32 are used. The burner stones reach into a corresponding opening in the furnace ceiling, which is insulated with refractory stone on the underside. The end face of the burner blocks lies approximately in the level of the lower surface of the refractory blocks.

The clamping tie rod 3 and the fixing pressure plate 14 are expediently made of cast chrome nickel.

Both the contact surfaces of the anchors and in particular the transverse arms 4 or the like on the burner quarl or its quadrant as well as the contact surfaces of the burner quartz or its quadrant on the burner plate should each be somewhat curved so that when the clamping tie rods are tightened at these contact points the radial bracing no avoidable bending stresses occur and the parts can roll on each other. Also, avoidable bending stresses should not be introduced into the fastening bolts 8 and the nuts 30 should be supported via spherical or spherically curved washers or the like.
