Description

Stand der TechnikState of the art

The invention relates to a connector holder according to the preamble of the main claim.

Such a connector holder of an electrical connector is known for example from EP 0 195 472 A1.

There, plug contacts are accommodated in a carrier part, at the rear ends of which connection points are attached, to which the connecting wires of a multi-core cable are connected.

If the cable is improperly pulled, for example during maintenance work in hard-to-reach places, in order to detach the plug from a mating coupling, breakage of the plug contacts is avoided, but at the expense of the connecting wires, which transmit the tensile force to the connection points without relieving them, with the result that the bond with the connecting wires breaks and the plug loses its functionality.

An electrical connector is known from US Pat. No. 2,522,341 which has an elastic element which is primarily used for fixing the plug contacts of an electrical connector in a rigid guide plate. At the same time, the stripped end sections of connecting wires of a multi-core cable can also be clamped onto rear ends of the plug contacts for contacting between the guide plate and plug contact.

The elastic element and guide plate can be locked together for this purpose. A fixation of the connecting wire is not possible with this version.

In contrast, the task of the invention is to develop a plug holder which offers the greatest possible security against an interruption in the connection between the connecting wire and the plug contact.

This object is achieved with the features according to claim 1.

Vorteile der ErfindungAdvantages of the invention

The connector holder according to the invention with the features listed in the main claim has the advantage that no wire breaks occur even with high temperature fluctuations and strong vibrations and the connection points of the wires on the plug contacts are not interrupted. This ensures that the construction of the connector holder is simple, so that the manufacturing costs remain low.

In a preferred embodiment, the elastic element is designed as a rubber plate, which is pressed, for example, by a cover of the housing of the plug holder against the plug plate and thus holds the connecting wires in the desired position. The plate is particularly easy to manufacture and assemble.

An embodiment is particularly preferred in which the elastic element is designed as a cover, which closes the connector holder on the side of the connecting wires. The wires are pressed against the plug plate and held securely by the cover, which consists entirely or at least on its side facing the connecting wires of elastic material. This embodiment is also characterized by its simple and inexpensive structure.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the connecting wires are not connected directly to the plug contacts. Rather, pieces of wire are cast into the plug plate with the plug contacts, the ends of which protrude from the plug plate. The connecting wires are connected to these ends. This makes the connection wires particularly easy to install.

Furthermore, an embodiment is particularly preferred, which is characterized by a special connecting element provided at the connection point between the connecting wire and the plug contact, which is soldered to the rear end of the plug contact and diffusion-welded onto the connecting wire, which is designed as a strand. This not only results in a particularly secure electrical connection; it is also possible to easily repair faulty connections without destroying the connector holder.

The measures listed in the subclaims permit advantageous developments and improvements of the connector holder specified in the main claim. Grooves or projections provided in the plug holder have proven to be particularly advantageous, which facilitate the laying of the connecting wires to the plug contacts or to the connection points and, as a positive fit, bring about strain relief. The connecting wires are held securely during assembly, so that slipping or damage during assembly are excluded.

  • Figur 1 eine Draufsicht auf die Rückseite eines ersten Ausführungsbeispiels eines Steckerhalters;
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing which shows an exemplary embodiment. Show it:
  • Figure 1 is a plan view of the back of a first embodiment of a connector holder;
  • Figure 2 shows a section through a connector holder according to Figure 1 and
  • Figure 3 shows a section through part of a second embodiment of a connector holder.

Beschreibung des AusführungsbeispielsDescription of the embodiment

A plug holder with seven plug contacts is shown in the figures. However, the number of plug contacts of the plug holder is basically arbitrary.

The plug holder 1 in FIG. 1 has a plug plate 2 with seven plug contacts 3. The plug plate is provided with three bores 4, which are used to fasten a cover (not shown here) to the plug holder and to mount the assembled plug holder, for example on a wall of a housing 10. Several projections 5 can be seen, which are arranged at such a distance that the connecting wires 6 leading to the plugs 3 in the gaps can be clamped. The projections 5 can be parts of guide webs which extend practically transversely to the direction of the connecting wires.

At the ends of the connecting wires 6 facing the plug contacts, connecting elements 7 can be seen, which are connected, for example crimped, to the connecting wires designed here as a strand. An additional securing by diffusion welding can be provided. The connecting elements 7, on the other hand, are bent around the rear ends of the plug contacts and connected to them, for example by soldering.

At two plug contacts, the connecting wires are omitted here, so that grooves 8 provided in the plug plate 2 can be seen, into which the connecting wires 6 can be inserted.

From the figure it can be seen that the rear ends of the connectors have circular lugs 9. These approaches consist of the same material as the connector holder, for example made of plastic.

Figure 2 shows a connector holder 1 in section. It is introduced into a wall of the housing 10, which is only indicated here, and is fastened to this by suitable fastening means, for example by screws 11.

The through opening provided in the wall of the housing 10 for the plug holder 1 is designed to be pressure-tight. Suitable sealing measures are provided. In the present case, an O-ring 14 is arranged in a suitable groove.

From the sectional view it can be seen that 3 pieces of wire 12 are introduced into the material of the plug holder with the plug contacts. Both parts are injected or cast, for example. The pieces of wire are electrically connected to the rear end of the plug contacts, for example soldered or crimped and diffusion welded. Baked enamelled wires are preferably used. The pieces of wire are overmolded in a tower-like manner, so that the plastic lugs 9 are formed, which ensure expansion adjustment, so that wire breaks are excluded. The sealing lugs on the wire pieces 12 are also lengthened by the plastic lugs, and excessive volume accumulation in the plug holder is prevented. This avoids unevenness that could arise during the manufacture of the connector holder with the help of spraying technology.

Above in the picture, a connecting wire 6 can be seen, which is guided or held by two projections 5. The connecting element 7 can be seen particularly well in this illustration. The connecting elements 7 are each attached, for example crimped, to the ends of the connecting wires 6 designed as a strand. The connecting elements are connected to the ends of the wire pieces 12 by positive locking and additionally by soldering. After all the connecting wires 6 have been connected to the wire pieces 12 of the plug 3, an elastic element designed here as a plate 13 is placed at least over the connecting wires 6. The plate can also be the connection points or spanning the connecting elements 7. A cover 15 is then connected to the plug holder, for example by screwing. The elastic plate 13 is pressed through the cover onto the connecting wires 6. The connecting wires are held securely by the rubber plate 13, for example, so that vibrations can neither lead to wire breaks nor to the connection points being interrupted.

Due to the special design of the connecting elements 7, individual connecting wires, for example when replacing the connected devices, can be detached and replaced by new ones. The special design of the plastic attachments on the wire pieces and the choice of stranded wire as connecting wires and the special design of the connecting elements ensure that the connector holder is very resistant to large temperature fluctuations and vibrations.

Figure 3 shows a section of another embodiment of a connector holder. The same parts are provided with the same reference numerals; their detailed description is omitted. With this exemplary embodiment, the connecting wires 6, one of which is shown in the figure, are pressed against the plug plate 2 by a cover 150 made of elastic material and are thus held in a vibration-proof manner. The clamped connecting wire 6 is attached via a specially designed connecting element 7 to a piece of wire 12 which protrudes from a plastic lug 9 and merges into a plug contact 13 which is not visible here.

On its side facing the plug plate, the cover 150 is provided, at least in the region of the connecting wires 6, with projections 151, by means of which a positive connection is obtained, so that the wires are held securely. An axial and / or vertical movement of the connecting wires and thus the connection point is avoided, so that interruptions due to wire bridges are practically impossible. The contact pressure of the cover is increased by the projections 151 without the wires being squeezed off.

It follows from the above that the cover 150 can consist entirely of elastic material.

Lids made of thermoplastic material have proven particularly useful. They are very easy to manufacture and their elastic properties can be matched to the existing conditions in a wide range through the selection of special thermoplastics. For example, Ryton® has proven very successful. This material is characterized by such a high degree of rigidity that there is a perfect positive fit between the cover and the connecting wires.

However, it is also possible to provide the cover with an elastic layer only on its side facing the plug plate 2.

Stiffening elements, for example stiffening ribs, can be provided so that the cover does not warp in the assembled state and during manufacture in the injection molding process.
