Definitions
- the present invention relates to a humidifier according to the preamble of independent claim 1 and to humidifier units.
- the conventional rotary humidifiers for example according to GB-A-1 012 250, consist consistently of a high-speed motor with the atomizer disc attached to the hub. A grid-like wreath is mounted around the atomizer disc. Water is fed into the center of the disk rotating at high speed, which flows outwards due to the centrifugal force on the disk and impacts the atomizer grille. Coarser and finer drops and part of the finest mist are created. This finest mist is transported on by a separately installed fan. The coarse and medium drops either flow into a drain or into a water container. They are pumped from the container back onto the atomizing disc.
- This known embodiment has certain essential disadvantages which limit the possible use and reduce the efficiency.
- An air humidifier is to be created which can be arranged both vertically and horizontally.
- the water supplied should be optimally nebulized without water loss, and the mist is also optimally transported away from the humidifier. Except for certain uses, no additional fan should be necessary.
- FIG. 1 a section through a first embodiment of the humidifier is shown.
- a hub 3, which is provided with first ventilation blades 4, is mounted on the shaft 1 of the high-speed motor 2 (for example 2900 rpm).
- the hub 3 and the first ventilation blades 4 are integrally formed, cast from plastic or aluminum or made from stainless steel, and form a first ventilation wheel.
- the outer edges of the first ventilation blades 4 are formed obliquely, a first atomizer disc 6 being mounted on these outer edges.
- a fixed first atomizer ring 7 is mounted around the atomizer disc 6.
- the hub 3 with the ventilation blades 4, the first atomizer disk 6 and the first atomizer ring 7 form a first unit which can be considered as the lowest power level.
- a second atomizer disk 8 is fastened in the region of the hub 3 with the first atomizer disk 6.
- a second ventilation wheel consisting of an annular disk 10 and ventilation blades 5 integrated with it, is arranged above the second atomizing disk 8. This second ventilation wheel is also cast from plastic or aluminum or made from stainless steel.
- a second atomizing ring 9 is arranged around the second atomizing disk 8. The second atomizer disc 8, the second ventilation wheel 5, 10 and the second atomizer ring 9 form a second unit.
- the nebulization takes place on radially arranged fins 11 and 12 of the atomizer rings 7 and 9.
- the fins 11 and 12 are preferably inclined, ie not running parallel to the motor shaft 1, which reduces the hissing noise.
- a water supply pipe 13 leads into the area of the atomizer discs below the shaft 1.
- the water supply pipe has two nozzle-shaped outlet ends 14 and 15. An extremely fine film of water forms on the atomizing disks 6 and 8, which leads to the formation of a very fine mist.
- the atomizer disks 6 and 8 and the second ventilation wheel 5, 10 are fastened to the hub 3 with screws 16.
- the nozzle-shaped outlet ends 14 and 15 conduct the water without interference between the ventilation blades 4 and 5. Air and water supply hardly interfere.
- a valve, not shown, installed in the water supply pipe 13 allows the water supply and thus the humidifier output to be regulated.
- the air supply is regulated by changing the shape and the number of ventilation blades 4 and 5.
- a housing 17 for the air humidifier has an air supply duct 18.
- Atomizer disks 6 and 8 are bent in the area of the outer edge of the ventilation blades 4 and 5. As a result, the atomizer disks 6 and 8 comprise two annular regions 34 and 35. The cones toward the outer region of the hub 3 The design of the ventilation blades 4 and 5 and the curved design of the atomizer disks 6 and 8 ensure that all the water supplied contributes to the formation of the fine water film on the surface of the atomizer disks and enables optimal atomization of the water supplied. The atomizer disks 6, 8 could also be bent a second time so that their outer area would run parallel to the hub surface.
- FIG. 2 shows a section along line II-II of FIG. 1.
- Some of the ventilation blades 19 are designed somewhat wider and are used for fastening and centering the atomizing disks 6, 8 and the second ventilation wheel 5, 10 with the screws 16 on the hub 3.
- FIG. 3 the humidifier according to FIGS. 1 and 2 is shown schematically.
- the outlet opening 20 for the water mist is arranged in the housing 17 on the side opposite the air inlet opening 18.
- FIG. 4 shows a humidifier arrangement which has a motor 21 which comprises motor shafts 1 and 22 which protrude on both sides. Two stages are placed on both shafts, so that a humidification arrangement with high performance can be achieved.
- the housing 23 has two air inlet openings 24 and 25 and two outlet openings 26 and 27 for the water mist.
- FIG. 5 shows a use of the same humidification arrangement as in the embodiment according to FIG. 4, each but still using an additional fan 28.
- several motors 21 with two shafts 1 and 22 next to each other or. can be arranged one above the other in the housing 29.
- FIG. 6 shows another possible use of the humidifier according to FIG. 1, but in a vertical arrangement of the motor 2.
- the housing 30 comprises an air inlet opening 31 located at the top.
- the two outlet openings 32 and 33 for the water mist are arranged on the side of the housing.
- the humidification unit can be installed in any position. It is possible to use only one unit, i.e. to be equipped with a set of ventilation blades of an atomizer disc with an atomizer ring, or with two superposed units or with two double units on both sides of the motor and thus to be able to vary the humidifier output over a wide range.
- a hub 39 which is provided with first ventilation blades 40, is mounted on a shaft 36 of a high-speed motor 37.
- the hub 39 and the first ventilation blades 40 are integrally formed, cast from plastic or aluminum or made from stainless steel and form a first ventilation wheel.
- the outer edges of the first ventilation blades 40 are formed obliquely, a first atomizing disc 41 made of chrome steel being mounted on these outer edges.
- a fixed first atomizer ring 42 is mounted around the atomizer disc 41.
- the hub 39 with the ventilation blades 40, the first atomizer disk 41 and the first atomizer ring 42 form a first unit which can be considered as the lowest power level.
- a second atomizer disc 43 is fastened in the region of the hub 39.
- the two atomizing disks 41 and 43 are connected in the conically tapering part facing the shaft 36 to a connecting disk 44 with a triangular cross section. Fluttering of the atomizer disks can be avoided by this disk.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a humidifier according to the preamble of
The conventional rotary humidifiers, for example according to GB-A-1 012 250, consist consistently of a high-speed motor with the atomizer disc attached to the hub. This known embodiment has certain essential disadvantages which limit the possible use and reduce the efficiency. There is a disturbed atomization process because the mist is partially pushed back into the atomization zone. A separate fan is also required. There is also a disadvantage that the mist is not transported away from the atomizer ring, since no air flows in from the inside. Part of the fog is sucked back again and reduces the humidification performance. Since the atomizer disc has to be arranged horizontally, the possible uses are restricted. It is not possible to produce a rotary humidifier with great performance with these known devices.
It is an object of the present invention to avoid the disadvantages mentioned above. An air humidifier is to be created which can be arranged both vertically and horizontally. The water supplied should be optimally nebulized without water loss, and the mist is also optimally transported away from the humidifier. Except for certain uses, no additional fan should be necessary.
According to the invention, this is achieved by the characterizing features of
Furthermore, it is an object of the present invention to provide humidifier units for a humidifier mentioned at the outset, which make it possible to equip the motor of the humidifier with one or two humidifier units on one side or with one or two humidifier units on both sides, in order thus to achieve a high output Range.
According to the invention, this is achieved by the characterizing features of

- Fig. 7 shows a longitudinal section through a second embodiment of a humidifier.
In Fig. 1 a section through a first embodiment of the humidifier is shown. A
Some of the
In Fig. 3 the humidifier according to FIGS. 1 and 2 is shown schematically. The outlet opening 20 for the water mist is arranged in the
Bei diesem Ausführungsbeispiel können auch mehrere Motoren 21 mit zwei Wellen 1 und 22 nebeneinander resp. übereinander im Gehäuse 29 angeordnet werden.FIG. 5 shows a use of the same humidification arrangement as in the embodiment according to FIG. 4, each but still using an
Seitlich am Gehäuse sind die beiden Austrittsöffnungen 32 und 33 für den Wassernebel angeordnet.FIG. 6 shows another possible use of the humidifier according to FIG. 1, but in a vertical arrangement of the
With smaller air capacities, e.g. sufficient only for humidifying the room, the air supply to the ventilation wheel is sufficient; no separate fan is required. If larger air outputs are necessary, e.g. Ventilation systems with humidification, thanks to the air flow generated by the humidification unit, the water mist will flow away from the humidification unit and be carried away by the air. The humidification unit can be installed in any position. It is possible to use only one unit, i.e. to be equipped with a set of ventilation blades of an atomizer disc with an atomizer ring, or with two superposed units or with two double units on both sides of the motor and thus to be able to vary the humidifier output over a wide range.
Small sized humidifiers of high performance with high efficiency can be created. Furthermore, there are many possible uses from the combination of one or two units one or both sides of the motor in a horizontal or vertical arrangement.
