Abstract

The process concerns the fabrication of a smooth polyester yarn whereby the polyester yarn is cold-drawn between a pair of feed rollers and a take-up unit in a draw ratio of from 1.15 : 1 to 2.3 : 1 and heat set on the take-up unit. This is a simple and inexpensive way of combining single-stage cold-drawing with simultaneous heat-setting.

Description

The invention relates to a method for producing smooth yarn from thermoplastic synthetic threads, in particular smooth polyester yarn, according to which the plastic yarn is fed to a take-off unit by means of a delivery unit, stretched between the delivery unit and take-off unit, heat-set and finally wound up.

Smooth yarns made of thermoplastic synthetic threads and especially polyester threads are spun from a plurality of filaments. These filaments are combined into a bundle of threads, prepared and wound up at high speed. The flat yarn to be produced obtains its usage properties by stretching. During drawing, the plain yarn is usually fed to a second heated supply unit via a first supply unit and pre-drawn to a ratio of less than 1.1: 1. The flat yarn is heated on the second heated feed unit, for polyester to about 85 ° C. From the second feed unit, the flat yarn is fed to a take-off unit via a heating plate, finally stretched and then wound up. The smooth yarn is heat-set on the heating plate, namely the fixation of a boil-off shrink or a hot air shrink with a surface temperature between 130 ° C. and 170 ° C. This multi-stage process is relatively complex, also in terms of the device.

A 0 224 306 also discloses a process for spinning stretching polyester threads with a given viscosity, wherein the polyester threads are drawn between a delivery godet with at least one separating roller at a predetermined thread speed and a draw-off godet with separating roller at a predetermined end speed via a stretching pin and thereby stretched and then wound up. To stretch them, the polyester threads are guided around an unheated stretching pin with a wrap angle of less than 360 °.

The stretched polyester threads are then heat-set, and the heat-setting can also be carried out on the draw-off godet at temperatures between 110 ° C and 240 ° C. Stretching and heat setting take place here - as in the known multi-stage processes - practically in separate process steps one after the other.

The invention is based on the object of specifying a simple and inexpensive method for producing smooth yarn from thermoplastic synthetic threads, in particular of smooth polyester yarn, and to provide a device which is suitable for carrying out this method.

This object is achieved by the invention in a generic method in that the plastic yarn between the delivery unit and the take-off unit is cold drawn to a ratio of 1.15: 1 to 2.3: 1 and heat set on the take-off unit. - Cold stretching means in the context of the invention that stretching of the plain yarn to its performance properties takes place at a thread temperature in the region of room temperature and the stretching ratio, ie. H. the speed ratio between the delivery mechanism and the take-off mechanism is chosen so high that there are no undrawn or less stretched points in the drawn smooth yarn than the set draw ratio. As a result, elongations between 8% and 50% with high thread uniformity can be set in the cold-drawn smooth yarn. B. on the Uster% is recognizable. At the same time, the heat treatment of the plain yarn takes place directly on the take-off unit. Surprisingly, the performance properties required by smooth yarns and in particular smooth polyester yarn are not only achieved in the course of the treatment according to the invention, but also improved.

Polyester-POY.Further features essential to the invention are listed below. So the plastic yarn is preferably at take-off speeds from 300 m / min to 1600 m / min, preferably from 600 m / min to 1000 m / min cold drawn, at room temperature. Furthermore, the invention provides that the plastic yarn is heat-set between 2% and 40% at a surface temperature of the draw-off unit between 90 ° C and 250 ° C depending on a boil-off shrinkage or hot air shrinkage to be achieved. According to a proposal of the invention with independent importance, it is provided that a polyester yarn is used as the plastic yarn, which is drawn from a bundle of undrawn oriented threads and in front of a spinneret with a pull-off speed of at least 2500 m / min, preferably from a polyester POY ( Partially Oriented Yarn) with a titer of 40 dtex to 600 dtex. Its undrawn polyester yarn is expediently cold drawn with a birefringence of at least 0.023 and an elongation at break between 55% and 180%. - The invention also includes the production of only a smooth, cold-drawn filament thread made of polyester or polyester POY.

The invention further relates to a device which is particularly suitable for carrying out the claimed method and is distinguished by a simple and functional design. In its basic structure, this device has an unwinding spool, a supply unit, a take-off unit and a take-up spool. The take-off mechanism can be heated or has a heatable surface for heat setting the plastic or polyester yarn, the heating temperature being adjustable. The take-off unit can have a separating roller for the plastic or polyester yarn wrapping around the take-off mechanism can be assigned in order to simultaneously subject the plastic or polyester yarn to a temperature treatment by means of cold drawing in order to adjust the cooking shrinkage or the hot air shrinkage. In fact, within the scope of the method according to the invention and with the device according to the invention, one-stage cold drawing with simultaneous heat setting of plastic yarns or polyester yarn is possible. Consequently, a simple and inexpensive method for producing smooth yarns or smooth polyester yarn is available, which is not complex in terms of plant technology and is particularly reliable.
