Der Verstellweg des Schlittens 10 auf dem Schieber 5 ist auf einen vorgegebenen Wert begrenzt und zwar durch Anschläge des Schiebers 5, die z.B. als in Bohrungen eingesetzte Stifte ausgebildet sein können. Durch Anschlag des Schlitters 10 an diesen Stiften wird der Verstellweg des Schlittens 10 auf dem Schieber 5 festgelegt. Der Lagerbock 2 oder der Sitzträger 33 ragt zwischen die Seitenschenkel des Rückenlehnenstabes 6 und ist mit der als Lagerbolzen ausgebildeten Schwenkachse 16 darin drehbar gelagert. Der Lagerbock 2 oder der Sitzträger 33 weist im Lagerbereich die Ausnehmung 31 auf, durch die die Verlängerung 17 eingeführt und mittels der Lagerhülse 24 auf dem Gelenkbolzen 22 gelenkig gelagert ist. Der Gelenkbolzen 22 ist am Ende des einen Hebelarmes 28 des Kniehebels 20 angeordnet, der in der Ausgangsstellung des Stuhles, d.h. bei steil aufgerichtetem Rückenlehnenstab 6, wie der Lagerbock 2 oder der Sitzträger 33 etwa horizontal verläuft. In dem über die Schwenkachse 16 hinaus verlängerten Bereich des Rückenlehnenstabes 6 ist der Mitnehmerbolzen 25 festgelegt, der von dem Gleitstein 26 aufgenommen wird. Der Gleitstein 26 ist in dem Führungsschlitz 27 des anderen Hebelarmes 29 des Kniehebels 20 verstellbar geführt. Der Gelenkbolzen 22 beschreibt beim Verschwenken des Kniehebels 20 eine Bewegungsbahn 30, die auf einer Kreisbahn um die Schwenkachse 19 des Kniehebels 20 liegt. Die Abstimmung der Schwenkbewegung des Rückenlehnenstabes 6 ist nun so, daß die Lagerhülse 24 der Verlängerung 17 eine Bewegungsbahn beschreibt, die mit der Bewegungsbahn 30 des Gelenkbolzens 22 zusammenfällt und identisch ist. Dann ist erreicht, daß die Verlängerung 17 starr mit dem Schieber 5 verbunden werden oder einstückig mit diesem ausgebildet sein kann. Durch die Auslegung der Hebelarme 28 und 29 des Kniehebels 20 und die Abstände des Gelenkbolzens 22 und des Mitnehmerbolzens 25 von der Schwenkachse 19 des Kniehebels 20 kann eine entsprechende Abstimmung vorgenommen werden.
