Insgesamt ergeben sich Zeitspannen, die bei flüssigen Medien mit thermolabilen Komponenten, z.B. Nährlösungen für Säugerzellkulturen, zu nicht tolerablen Schädigungen von essentiellen Komponenten führen. Das Wärmetauschermodul ist aus Metallkarten (1) aufgebaut, die aus weniger als 0,5 mm dicken Metallfolien aus Chrom-­Nickel-Stahl, Kupfer, Nickel oder Aluminium bestehen können. Mit letzterem wird gewährleistet, daß nur ein flüssiges Medium in den Strömungskanal 13 gelangt. Damit die beiden flüssigen Medien 14, 15 abwechselnd in die Strömungskanäle 13 gelangen, müssen die Kanäle 5 und 9 abwechselnd aus Öffnungen 3 und 4 gebildet werden. Das kann durch entsprechende Ausbildung der Gewebekarte 2 erreicht werden. Gemäß Figur 1 sind die Seiten 7, 8 der Gewebekarte 2 von Lage zu Lage vertauscht (Wenden der Karten). Die Karten 1, 2 können mit dem Dichtmittel miteinander verklebt sein. Sie können aber auch mittels Druckplatten 11 und Zuganker 12 zusammengehalten werden. Als Dichtmittel kommen unter anderem Silikonkautschuk, PU-Harze, Polyesterharze, thermoplastische Kunststoffe, Melaninharze, Phenolharze, Epoxydharze in Betracht. Die Zu- und Ableitungen für die beiden Medien 14, 15 können für Gleich- oder Gegenstromfahrweise angeordnet sein (nicht dargestellt). Nach Figur 2 fließt Medium 14 Medium 15 entgegen.
