  • Another aspect of the present invention provides an article carrier of the wrap-around type comprising a blank according to the previous aspect of the invention, wherein each open end of the carrier is spanned by end panel means each end panel means being hinged to respective ones of the side panels of the carrier so that portions of the end panel means are folded adjacent said side panels internally of the carrier and wherein the fold lines by which the end panel means are hinged to the carrier side panels extend downwardly and outwardly relative to the carton top wall towards said bottom panel means.
  • Figure 1 there is shown an elongate blank 10 formed from paperboard or similar foldable sheet material and which comprises, in series, a first base panel 12, a first side wall panel 14 (comprising a lower side wall panel 16 and upper side wall panel 18), a top panel 20, a second side wall panel 22 (comprising second upper side wall panel 24 and second lower side wall panel 26) and a second base panel 28 hinged one to the next along transverse fold lines 30-40.

Claims (4)

  1. Ebauche allongée destinée à la formation d'un emballage du type fourreau adapté pour porter des articles, laquelle ébauche est constituée par un ensemble de panneaux primaires articulés entre eux comportant successivement, un premier panneau de base (12), un premier panneau de paroi latérale (14), un panneau de dessus (20), un second panneau de paroi latérale (22) et un second panneau de base (28) et des éléments de panneaux d'extrémités (C1, C2) qui s'étendent le long des bords opposés de cette ébauche, chacun des éléments de panneaux d'extrémité ayant un bord latéral extérieur situé au-delà de celle des panneaux de base, caractérisée par le fait que chacun des éléments de panneaux d'extrémité (C1, C2) n'est relié aux panneaux primaires qu'à chacune de ses extrémités opposées, la liaison étant assurée par une ligne de pliage (44, 46) pratiquée dans chaque panneau latéral (14, 24) correspondant, laquelle ligne de pliage (44, 46) s'étend obliquement par rapport à l'axe longitudinal de cette ébauche et chacun des éléments de panneaux d'extrémité (C1, C2) étant défini par le bord latéral extérieur, par une ligne découpée dans l'ébauche en travers du panneau de dessus et se prolongeant dans les premier et second panneaux latéraux (14, 24) et par les lignes de pliage obliques (44, 46), chacune de ces dernières partant d'une extrémité de la ligne découpée et rejoignant une extrémité adjacente du bord latéral extérieur.
  2. Ebauche selon la revendication 1, caractérisée par le fait que chaque ligne de pliage oblique rejoint le bord latéral extérieur qui est adjacent au bord du panneau de base correspondant de cette ébauche.
  3. Emballage du type fourreau destiné à porter des articles, constitué d'une ébauche conforme à l'une ou l'autre des revendications 1 ou 2, caractérisé par le fait que chacune de ses extrémités ouvertes est traversée par un élément de panneau d'extrémité (C1, C2) qui est articulé sur ses panneaux latéraux correspondants, de façon à ce que des parties des éléments de panneaux d'extrémité soient repliées à l'intérieur de cet emballage contre les panneaux latéraux adjacents (14, 22), les lignes de pliage (46, 48), au moyen desquelles les panneaux d'extrémité sont articulés sur les panneaux latéraux s'étendant vers le bas et vers l'extérieur par rapport au panneau de dessus (20) de l'emballage et en direction des panneaux de base (12, 28).
  4. Emballage destiné à porter des articles selon la revendication 3, caractérisé par le fait que les lignes de pliage (44, 46) constituent une partie des bords d'extrémité de ses panneaux latéraux (14, 22) situés entre le panneau de dessus et le panneau de base.
