Definitions
- the invention relates to a throwing system for fog candles, explosive devices and the like, in which the firing takes place by electrical ignition of a propellant charge.
- Such throwing systems are described for example in DE-PS 24 20 862 and DE-OS 37 06 213. They consist of a launcher with at least one throwing cup and throwing bodies that can be used in these, the throwing cup having a launch tube open at both ends, which can be closed at the rear by a removable base piece and into the interior of which electrical contact pins, which protrude through the jacket, protrude loaded throwing cup are in electrically conductive connection with contact rings of the throwing body.
- the throwing cups are designed for a certain effective mass and a defined recoil.
- the generally introduced throwing cups with a diameter of 76 mm are suitable for firing active weights up to approx. 1100 g. with a recoil pulse of approx. 4.4 kN.
- a throwing system is known from Austrian patent specification 330 030, in which the launch tube is inserted into a short receiving tube and is supported on the receiving tube with a collar. The bottom of the inserted launch tube is closed with a cover in which the ignition device is accommodated. This cover is screwed to the bottom of the receiving tube, and the electrical wiring for the ignition device is also guided in the bottom cover via this screw connection.
- This arrangement serves to make the bottom part of the launch tube interchangeable with the electrical wiring and the ignition device, so that assembly and disassembly or due cleaning are facilitated. It is not intended to fire larger or different active masses with this throwing system; moreover, it would also be cumbersome to replace the launch tube.
- the invention has for its object to provide a throwing system with the features specified above, in which it is possible to use the known throwing cup, ie without interfering with the known throwing system, to shoot higher active masses and to achieve greater ranges without thereby limiting To exceed recoil forces.
- the basic idea of the invention is to integrate a longer tube into the known throwing cup, from which the larger active mass is fired with a lower powder charge.
- the invention makes use of the known fact that the barrel length of a gun has a positive effect on the build-up of gas pressure in the gun barrel. This means that, to put it simply, a larger pipe length, with the correct design of the components, can achieve a greater range of the projectiles or, with the same range, can fire higher masses.
- the larger pipe length serves to fire a larger active mass with approximately the same range and with a lower recoil pulse.
- Fig. 1 the throwing cup of a known throwing system is shown with a launch tube 1, a mounting ring 2, a mounting block 3, in which in Fig. 1 not visible in the interior of the launch tube 1 nine electrical contact pins 17 are arranged and a receiving collar 4 for the removable base 5.
- FIG. 2 The conversion of this throwing cup by inserting an extension tube is shown in Fig. 2.
- an extension tube 7 is inserted from the front in the direction of arrow E (FIG. 2), which has a retaining collar 8 acting as a stop on its outer circumference.
- contact rings 9 are arranged on the circumference in a manner explained in more detail below.
- the propellant charge assembly 10, which is explained in more detail below, is arranged on the closed rear side of the extension tube 7.
- the retaining collar 8 lies against the front end of the launch tube 1, as can be seen, for example, from FIG. 4.
- extension tube 7 with an inserted throwing body 14 is shown in more detail.
- the extension tube 7 consists of a molded plastic part with a molded-on retaining collar 8 and circumferential grooves, in which contact rings 9 are arranged, which for example consist of a self-adhesive contact foil, preferably in a gold-plated design.
- a propellant charge assembly 10 is arranged at the rear end of the extension tube 7, which is closed with a base 7.1. It has a propellant charge screw 12, which is screwed into a central opening of the base 7.1 by means of a receiving thread 13 and which contains the propellant charge and an ignition device and is connected to the contact rings 9 via conductor tracks (not shown).
- a protective cap 11 is arranged on the outside of the base 7.1.
- a throwing body 14 is arranged in the extension tube 7, the diameter of which essentially corresponds to the inside diameter of the extension tube 7. At its rear end, the throwing body 14 has an annular guide edge 16 which, when the throwing body is inserted, sits on the floor 7.1 and, as can be seen from FIG. 3, encloses an expansion chamber 15 which is arranged between the bottom 7.1 and the underside of the throwing body 14.
- the extension tube 4 shows the extension tube inserted into the throwing cup with the throwing body inserted.
- the retaining collar 8 is arranged on the extension tube 7 such that in the inserted state the extension tube 7 protrudes from the launch tube 1 at both ends and the contact pins 17 of the throwing cup lie opposite the contact rings 9 of the extension tube and are in electrically conductive contact with them, so that The ignition current can be conducted to the propellant charge screw 12 via the contact pins 17 and the contact rings 9 as well as the conductor tracks (not shown) in order to ignite the propellant charge.
- the space required for the expansion of the propellant gases is given by the expansion chamber 15 in the bottom of the throwing body 14. This ensures that a 12% longer guide path is achieved and a more favorable effect of the gas pressure is generated.

Description
The invention relates to a throwing system for fog candles, explosive devices and the like, in which the firing takes place by electrical ignition of a propellant charge.
Such throwing systems are described for example in DE-PS 24 20 862 and DE-OS 37 06 213.
In the known throwing system, the throwing cups are designed for a certain effective mass and a defined recoil. For example, the generally introduced throwing cups with a diameter of 76 mm are suitable for firing active weights up to approx. 1100 g. with a recoil pulse of approx. 4.4 kN.
Larger active masses cannot be fired with the known throwing cup, because the recoil pulse generated when firing larger active masses cannot be absorbed by the mounting of the known throwing cups.
A throwing system is known from Austrian patent specification 330 030, in which the launch tube is inserted into a short receiving tube and is supported on the receiving tube with a collar. The bottom of the inserted launch tube is closed with a cover in which the ignition device is accommodated. This cover is screwed to the bottom of the receiving tube, and the electrical wiring for the ignition device is also guided in the bottom cover via this screw connection. This arrangement serves to make the bottom part of the launch tube interchangeable with the electrical wiring and the ignition device, so that assembly and disassembly or due cleaning are facilitated. It is not intended to fire larger or different active masses with this throwing system; moreover, it would also be cumbersome to replace the launch tube.
The invention has for its object to provide a throwing system with the features specified above, in which it is possible to use the known throwing cup, ie without interfering with the known throwing system, to shoot higher active masses and to achieve greater ranges without thereby limiting To exceed recoil forces.
This object is achieved according to the invention with the features from the characterizing part of patent claim 1.
Advantageous developments of the invention are described in the subclaims.
The basic idea of the invention is to integrate a longer tube into the known throwing cup, from which the larger active mass is fired with a lower powder charge. The invention makes use of the known fact that the barrel length of a gun has a positive effect on the build-up of gas pressure in the gun barrel. This means that, to put it simply, a larger pipe length, with the correct design of the components, can achieve a greater range of the projectiles or, with the same range, can fire higher masses. In the throwing system according to the invention, the larger pipe length serves to fire a larger active mass with approximately the same range and with a lower recoil pulse. This is possible in a particularly simple manner in the throwing system according to the invention, in that the base piece is removed from the known throwing cup and the extension tube is inserted into the launch tube open at both ends larger pipe length is realized. The extension tube, which is closed at its rear end, serves as a launching mortar, one into its Dimensions adapted to the extension tube is used, which is driven by a corresponding propellant charge.
- a) Verschuß von Wurfkörpern mit größerer Wirkmasse und größerem Volumen;
- b) trotz der höheren Wirkmassen wird aufgrund der günstigen innenballistischen Eigenschaften des Verlängerungsrohres ein geringerer Rückstoß als bei dem bekannten Wurfsystem erreicht;
- c) durch die Verwendung des eingesetzten Verlängerungsrohres wird die Verschmutzung des Wurfbechers und damit die daraus resultierende Korrosion und zusätzliche Reinigungsarbeit vermieden;
- a) firing projectiles with a larger active mass and a larger volume;
- b) despite the higher effective masses, due to the favorable internal ballistic properties of the extension tube, a lower recoil is achieved than with the known throwing system;
- c) the use of the extension tube used prevents contamination of the throwing cup and thus the resulting corrosion and additional cleaning work;
- d) the throwing system according to the invention can be integrated into the known throwing system without structural intervention and also allows the known throwing bodies to be fired by closing the throwing cup with the base piece after removal of the extension tube and then using the throwing system in a known manner with the known throwing bodies.
An exemplary embodiment of the known throwing system is explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
