Abstract

The invention relates to a method and arrangement for carrying out the method for avoiding interference on axle counters while vehicles equipped with rail brakes (20), in particular magnetic or eddy current brakes, travel past. The axle counters have magnetic sensors arranged laterally and below the surface of the rails (1). In order to avoid incorrect signal triggerings when moving past the rail brakes (20), a frequency-selective, magnetic shielding (21) tuned to the frequencies used by the sensors, is mounted to said rail brakes. The magnetic shielding (21) can have at least one wire coil and a capacitor as electrical two-pole element or a network of capacitors and inductors. The at least one wire coil is expediently mounted on the underside of the rail brake (20) facing the rail and extends over its entire length. <IMAGE>
