Description
The present invention relates to a new process for dyeing cellulosic fiber materials with a mixture of a fiber-reactive phthalocyanine dye and a fiber-reactive colorless compound by the padding process.
Foulard dyeing processes, in particular the cold dwell process, are dyeing processes known for cellulosic fiber materials, which allow impregnation of the fiber with the dye solution in a trough with the shortest liquor ratio and usually only a single passage of goods on the foulard and e.g. then dwelling the impregnated fiber material for 1 to 48 hours to dye and fix large quantities of textile fiber materials.
In view of the increasing demands on reactive dyeing in terms of economy, application technology and level of authenticity, the status achieved is often not completely satisfactory.
- a) at least one reactive dye of the formula
- b) at least one colorless compound which contains at least one group -S0 2 -Z, where Z has the meaning given.
Surprisingly, particularly good results are achieved with the method according to the invention. The addition of a fiber-reactive colorless compound which contains a group -S0 2 -Z significantly improves the degree of fixation which can be achieved by the cold dwell technique, the dyeings obtained are easier to wash out, and the result is a higher color strength, ie in order to obtain colorations of the same color depth a smaller amount of dye is required by the process according to the invention compared to previously known cold residence processes. Furthermore, the method according to the invention is characterized by a low waste water pollution.

Mixtures of reactive dyes of the formula (1) and mixtures of colorless fiber-reactive compounds can also be used in the processes according to the invention.
The fiber material intended for dyeing should have a neutral reaction and good absorbency. The reactive dye and the colorless compound are dissolved in water from e.g. 20 to 30 C with stirring. For padding, e.g. known troughs with a U- or V-shaped cross-section and displacement body can be used. The fleet volume should be kept as small as possible to ensure rapid fleet turnover. The dive time is usually 1 to 4 seconds. A value between 20 and 30 C has proven to be a suitable padding temperature. The liquor absorption is usually 50 to 120%, in particular 60 to 80% for cotton and 80 to 100% for rayon. As a rule, the procedure is such that the dye and alkali solution are prepared separately and introduced into the padding trough via a mixing or dosing device. The two solutions are mixed immediately before padding. After padding, the goods are docked with the same edges and wrapped with a plastic film. During the fixation, the goods must be protected against cooling or heating and against loss of moisture. The fixing speed depends on the chosen substrate and the temperature. Fixing times of 3 to 24 hours, in particular 3 to 8 hours at room temperature, are generally sufficient.
The fixing alkali customary in cold dwell processes can be used as the fixing alkali. To carry out the process according to the invention in the alkaline pH range, for example, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, trisodium phosphate, disodium phosphate, sodium carbonate or mixtures of sodium carbonate with neutral salts such as e.g. Sodium chloride, and especially water glass proved to be particularly suitable. Water glass is the glassy melt of alkali silicates. Mixtures of the acid-binding agents mentioned can also be used. A mixture of water glass and sodium hydroxide is preferably used in the process according to the invention.
In the process according to the invention, the liquor contains one or more of the acid-binding agents mentioned and, if appropriate, customary additives, such as wetting agents, for example dioctylsulfosuccinate, and thickeners, for example alginate thickeners and neutral inorganic salts, such as alkali metal chlorides or alkali metal sulfates.
After fixation, the dyeings are thoroughly rinsed with cold and hot water, if appropriate with the addition of a dispersing agent which promotes the diffusion of the unfixed portions.
The preferred procedure is to wash the dyed goods in an aqueous washing liquor at a pH of 8.5 to 9 and elevated temperature, preferably 70 to 85 ° C., optionally in the presence of a nonionic detergent.

The same preferences apply to the aqueous dye preparations as to the mixtures according to the invention.
The dye preparations generally have a dye content of 5 to 20% by weight and a salt content (inorganic salts) of 1 to% by weight, in particular 4 to 10% by weight. The pH is generally in the range from 3 to 10, preferably 3 to 7. Insoluble constituents are removed by microfiltration, and the concentration and desalination can be carried out until a dye content of 10 to 50% by weight is reached . The salt content drops below 5% by weight, preferably below 2% by weight and in particular below 1% by weight.
The dye preparations can have temperatures in the range from 10 to 80 ° C., preferably 20 to 60 ° C.
The concentrated dye preparations are characterized by their high concentration of dye, their homogeneity and their good stability (over several months) in a wide temperature range (0 ° C to 50 ° C).
- - Microfiltration of the aqueous solution of the raw dye to separate undissolved parts.
- - Ultrafiltration / hyperfiltration of the dye solution, whereby the solution is desalted to values below 1% by weight and the dye concentration is increased to 15 to 45% by weight.
- - Microfiltration of the concentrated dye solution to remove insoluble parts.
- - Subsequent production of the ready-to-use liquid or solid dye formulation.
The liquid dye formulations are generally aqueous and, in addition to water and the mixture according to the invention for liquid formulations, can contain components which are customary for liquid formulations, such as solubilizers, foam-suppressing agents, antifreezes, humectants, surfactants, buffer substances and / or antimicrobials.
To produce a ready-to-use liquid form, the concentrated dye preparation, if necessary after adding the components customary for liquid formulations and adjusting the pH, can only be brought to a predetermined final dye content by dilution and / or with the aid of coupé agents. However, the dye preparation can, if appropriate after addition of additives, such as binders, dedusting agents, wetting agents, buffer substances and / or coupé agents, be converted into a solid dye preparation by removing water. Thanks to the increased dye concentration, less energy is required to dry. Usual drying methods, in particular spray drying, are used.

The dyeings produced with the reactive dyes used according to the invention are distinguished by clear shades. High fixation rates and a very good build-up are achieved, and the dyeings have good lightfastness and very good wetfastness.
