Abstract

Mit einem Verfahren zum Fassen vom Edelsteinen, insbesondere von Brillanten in Edelmetallen oder deren Legierungen, wobei der Edelstein von dem die Fassung bildenden Metall wenigstens bereichsweise umgriffen wird soll eine Lösung geschaffen werden, mit der auf maschinelle Weise Edelsteine, insbesondere Brillanten, gefaßt werden können, wobei die maschinellen Vorbereitungen auf ein Mindestmaß reduzierbar und damit der Fassungsvorgang beschleunigbar ist.
Dies wird dadurch erreicht, daß der Edelstein (3) unter Druck in eine Bohrung (2) eingepreßt wird, deren Durchmesser (b) geringfügig kleiner ist als der Außendurchmesser (a) des zu fassenden Edelsteines, und daß nach Eintreiben der äußeren Randbereiche des Edelsteines in das Bohrloch unter das Oberflächenniveau des Fassungsmetalles von oben Metallmaterial über die äußeren Randbereiche des zu fassenden Steines gerieben wird.
