Definitions
- the present invention relates to a pillow according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Pillows of a first group which are also used most frequently, are pillows with a flexible, relatively soft filling, for example made of feathers, down, a mixture thereof or of another filling material.
- the person resting on it achieves the optimal shape of the pillow by moving the contents, by folding pillow parts or corners of the mostly rectangular pillows.
- the content of the pillow has shifted and the optimal shape of the pillow previously laid out by the person resting is no longer available.
- a person sleeping on the pillow can place the sensitive cervical vertebrae and head in an unfavorable position for a longer period of time.
- This disadvantage of the first type of pillow was attempted to be countered with a second group of pillows.
- Such pillows are dimensionally stable, for example, through specially preformed foam bodies.
- They have the major disadvantage that they force the sleeper into a predetermined position and only fix the head and cervical spine area in a relatively favorable position in this position.
- Such pillows are not very adaptable and are usually only ideal for a certain group of sleepers, because they do not or only insufficiently take into account the different sleeping positions of people, such as the supine or prone position as well as the side position.
- This second's pillows Groups usually do not offer any pleasant sleeping comfort.
- US-A-4 528 705 discloses a pillow in which an inflatable bladder for supporting the neck area of a person resting on the pillow is inserted in a sheet of a foamed material folded into a sleeve shape. Due to the inflatable bellows, the support of the neck area can be adapted to the sleeper. However, no means are provided with which the height of the head of the sleeper could also be changed.
- the pillow according to the invention can be seen in that, on the one hand, due to its special design, it strongly supports the cervical spine of the sleeper at the correct height through the inflatable elastic sleeve and, on the other hand, takes the head position of the preferred sleeping habits of the sleeper into account by inserting support bodies nevertheless conveys a fluffy, soft lying feeling. Due to this double variability, the pillow can be adapted to all conceivable needs of the sleeper.
- the preferably rectangular pillow 1 according to FIGS. 1 and 2 is provided with a soft filling.
- This filling can include feathers, down, new sheep's wool, wild silk, synthetic polyester tiles for allergy sufferers or other materials.
- an inflatable elastic cover 3 which essentially extends over the entire length of the said pillow edge, is immovably arranged next to a first pillow edge 2.
- the soft filling of the pillow encloses the elastic cover 3.
- the pillow 1 has first closure means 5 on the further pillow edge 4 opposite the first pillow edge 2 and on the two lateral pillow edges. In the open state of these closure means 5, the cushion 1, as shown in FIG. 2, can be folded up around the first cushion edge 2.
- the first fastening means 5 can include push buttons, buttons and buttonholes, zippers or Velcro fasteners.
- the tubular sleeve 3 is insertable into a sleeve pocket 16 and thereby fixed in the right place in the pillow.
- the envelope pocket 16 is formed, for example, by a piece of fabric connected to the seams 21 on the inside of the cushion 1. This construction has the advantage that the elastic cover 3 can be easily removed for cleaning the pillow.
- the elastic sleeve 3 is provided with a hose 17 which is connected at its end to a pump element 18.
- the pump element can comprise, for example, a manually operable rubber bellows 19 with a check valve and a built-in device 20 for discharging excess air.
- the pump element 18 is designed as an electrically driven air pump provided for remote control.
- the pump would be equipped with a receiver device for receiving control signals from a remote control device.
- the inflatable sleeve 3 serves to strongly support the cervical spine area of the sleeper at the correct height. A stepless, millimeter-precise and quick setting is through the shown Given construction.
- the preferred sleeping position such as prone position, supine position, side position, the person resting, and in the case of the side position, the shoulder width of this person, one or more support bodies 6 can be inserted into the pillow.
- a support body 6 has a tabular shape, consists of foam or comprises an envelope which is at least partially filled with a cushioning material. Suitable filling material can consist, for example, of synthetic or natural wool, of an elastic foam or, for example, poured loose, of plastic balls, feathers or down.
- the size of the support body 6 is such that it can be immovably arranged between the elastic sleeve 3 and the closure means 5 when the cushion 1 is closed.
- FIG. 3 shows a further embodiment of the pillow 1 according to the invention in the opened state. Parts already described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2 are given the same reference numerals in FIG. 3.
- An outer cushion surrounding the cushion 1 is designated by 7.
- the outer pillow 7 is filled with a further, soft filling made of the same preferred materials as the pillow 1 and is detachably connected on the inside along a first outer pillow edge 8 to the first pillow edge 2 of the pillow 1.
- the connecting means 11 of the pillow 1 with the outer pillow 7 can comprise, for example, a zipper, a Velcro fastener, push buttons or buttons and buttonholes.
- second closure means 10 are attached arranges.
- the closure means 10 can also consist of the elements already mentioned.
- the outer cushion 7 projects beyond the cushion 1 in the two lateral edge areas, each with a strip-shaped part 23, 24.
- the lateral outer cushion edges 12, 13 are folded inwards and connected to the inside of the outer cushion 7, for example by means of seams or snap fasteners 22. The folding is carried out in such a way that the lateral lateral cushion edges 12, 13 mentioned approximately touch the corresponding lateral cushion edges 14, 15. This folding creates a double-volume crumple zone on the left and right when the outer cushion 7 is closed, which is particularly pleasant for sleepers with the side position as the preferred sleeping position.
- the releasable connection to the connecting means 11 is provided.
- support bodies could be arranged between the outside of the cushion 1 and the inside of the outside cushion 7.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a pillow according to the preamble of
The pillows known and commonly used today can be divided into two large groups. Pillows of a first group, which are also used most frequently, are pillows with a flexible, relatively soft filling, for example made of feathers, down, a mixture thereof or of another filling material. The person resting on it achieves the optimal shape of the pillow by moving the contents, by folding pillow parts or corners of the mostly rectangular pillows. After a short time and a few movements of the head of the person resting on the pillow, the content of the pillow has shifted and the optimal shape of the pillow previously laid out by the person resting is no longer available. As a result, a person sleeping on the pillow can place the sensitive cervical vertebrae and head in an unfavorable position for a longer period of time. The consequences of this are a feeling of tiredness, neck or headache after waking up. This disadvantage of the first type of pillow was attempted to be countered with a second group of pillows. Such pillows are dimensionally stable, for example, through specially preformed foam bodies. However, they have the major disadvantage that they force the sleeper into a predetermined position and only fix the head and cervical spine area in a relatively favorable position in this position. Such pillows are not very adaptable and are usually only ideal for a certain group of sleepers, because they do not or only insufficiently take into account the different sleeping positions of people, such as the supine or prone position as well as the side position. This second's pillows Groups usually do not offer any pleasant sleeping comfort.
Es sind jedoch keine Mittel vorgesehen, mit welchen auch die Höhenlage des Kopfes des Schläfers verändert werden könnte.US-A-4 528 705 discloses a pillow in which an inflatable bladder for supporting the neck area of a person resting on the pillow is inserted in a sheet of a foamed material folded into a sleeve shape. Due to the inflatable bellows, the support of the neck area can be adapted to the sleeper. However, no means are provided with which the height of the head of the sleeper could also be changed.
It is the object of the present invention to provide a pillow which does not have the aforementioned disadvantages. It should be possible to easily adapt the pillow to the body shape (eg shoulder width) of the sleeper and to optimize it according to his preferred sleeping positions. The height adjustment of the pillow should be optimized separately for the neck area and for the actual headrest of the sleeper.
This object is achieved by the features listed in the characterizing part of
Another advantageous feature of the pillow according to the invention can be seen in that, on the one hand, due to its special design, it strongly supports the cervical spine of the sleeper at the correct height through the inflatable elastic sleeve and, on the other hand, takes the head position of the preferred sleeping habits of the sleeper into account by inserting support bodies nevertheless conveys a fluffy, soft lying feeling. Due to this double variability, the pillow can be adapted to all conceivable needs of the sleeper.

The preferably
With the pillow according to the invention the task has been solved optimally. With regard to its adaptability and the two opposites - strong supports / fluffy soft lying feeling - the pillow closes a long-standing gap between the groups of pillows mentioned at the beginning.
