A gas burner, preferably an evaporation oil burner consisting of a socket, which is provided with a fuel supply and has an internal bore with an internal thread, having a cylindrical nozzle body containing a nozzle opening and an external thread that can be screwed into the socket, and having a strainer assigned to the nozzle body. The nozzle body is provided with an extended shaft, passing along the entire length of which is a longitudinal bore upstream of the nozzle opening, and inside a prescribed region the shaft is provided with a multiplicity of radial bores, which end in the longitudinal bore and whose diameter is smaller than the diameter of the nozzle opening. The sum of the cross-sections of all the radial bores is larger than the cross-section of the nozzle opening. An annular duct that is connected to the fuel supply is provided in the region containing the radial bores.

Description

The invention relates to a gas burner, preferably an evaporating oil burner, consisting of a base provided with a feed for gaseous fuel, an inner bore with an internal thread, a cylindrical nozzle body containing a nozzle opening with an external thread that can be screwed into the base, and a sieve assigned to the nozzle body.

In practice, the burner consists of the nozzle body and a separate sieve. In the event of a blockage, the nozzle body must be unscrewed from the base, the sieve removed and both cleaned, whereupon both parts must be replaced in the base and the nozzle body must be screwed tight. Cleaning the burner is therefore very time-consuming.

The invention has for its object to provide a burner of the type mentioned, which enables simple and time-saving control and cleaning of the nozzle body and sieve.

This is achieved according to the invention in that the nozzle body is provided with an elongated shaft which is penetrated in its entire length by a longitudinal bore connected upstream of the nozzle opening, in that the shaft is provided within a predetermined range with a plurality of radial bores opening into the longitudinal bore, the diameter of which is smaller than the diameter of the nozzle opening, the sum of the cross sections of all the bores being larger, preferably being substantially larger than the cross section of the nozzle opening, and that In the region of the shaft containing the radial bores, an annular channel connected to the fuel supply is provided.

The nozzle body and sieve are made of one piece, which enables easy and time-saving handling, inspection and cleaning.

The invention is explained below with reference to the drawing using an exemplary embodiment.

The burner essentially consists of a base 10 and a nozzle body 16.

The base 10 contains an inner bore 11 which is provided with an internal thread 12 in the area facing the floor. A fuel feed 13 is connected to the base.

The base 10 receives a nozzle body, generally designated 14, which consists of a head part 15 and a shaft part 16. The shaft part 16 carries at its free end an external thread 18 which can be screwed into the internal thread 12 of the base.

The nozzle body 14 contains in its head part 15 a nozzle opening 17, which is followed by a bore 20 with a larger diameter, which penetrates the entire nozzle body and opens at the free end of the shaft part 16.

In an area between the head part and the external thread 18, the shaft part 16 is provided with radial bores 19 which open into the bore 20 on the inside. These radial bores advantageously have a smaller diameter than the nozzle opening 17, but overall have a cross section which is larger, preferably considerably larger, than the cross section of the nozzle opening 17.

In the region of the radial bores 19, the shaft 16 is provided with an annular groove, through which an annular channel 21 is formed, through which the gaseous fuel supplied through the fuel line 18 can get into the radial bores 19 and thus into the central bore 20 of the nozzle body 14 .

Of course, the ring channel (21) can also be formed by an annular groove in the inner wall of the base 10, or ring grooves forming a common ring channel can be provided both in the nozzle body (14) and in the base.

Due to the special design of the nozzle body, nozzle openings and sieve are contained in the one-piece nozzle body, so that handling during cleaning and inspection is simple, the nozzle opening being accessible from two sides and thus being easy to inspect visually.
