A trouser hanger provided with a trouser retention bar and comprising a transverse body (1) provided with a suspension hook (2), characterised in that two downwardly directed arms (4) extend from the ends of said body and are divided longitudinally into two elastically divergeable portions (5, 5′) which are connected to the corresponding portions of the other arm by two parallel bars (6, 6′) which form the trouser support bar (6) and the trouser retention element (6′) respectively.

Description

  • This invention relates to a trouser hanger provided with a trouser retention bar.
  • Clothes hangers are known provided with a transverse bar on which the trousers to be supported are disposed. It is also known to retain the trousers disposed in this manner by a tape fixed at its ends to said bar and passing about the trousers to keep them adhering to the bar and prevent them gradually sliding off it if, as is frequently the case, their weight is not balanced and they are subjected to jolting during transportation, particularly on vehicles.
  • Such known trouser hangers have however certain drawbacks, and in particular:
    - a lengthy and laborious operation is involved in hanging the trousers on the bar and fixing the trouser retention tape to it,
    - it is difficult to use them for more than one pair of trousers because of the limited dimensions of the generally small passage between the bar and tape,
    - they are formed from a number of separate pieces which have to be assembled together, so increasing production costs.
  • The object of the invention is to provide a trouser hanger which enables trousers to be hung on it and fixed in a simple and comfortable manner, which adapts to their thickness and which is of simple and economical construction.
  • This object is attained according to the invention by a trouser hanger provided with a trouser retention bar and comprising a transverse body provided with a suspension hook, characterised in that two downwardly directed arms extend from the ends of said body and are divided longitudinally into two elastically divergeable portions which are connected to the corresponding portions of the other arm by two parallel bars which form the trouser support bar and the trouser retention element respectively.
  • The present invention is described in detail hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
    • Figure 1 is a front view of a trouser hanger according to the invention; and
    • Figure 2 is an enlarged cross-section therethrough on the line II-II of Figure 1.
  • As can be seen from the figures the trouser hanger according to the invention comprises a body 1 constructed of plastics material by a conventional injection moulding process and carrying a metal suspension hook 2.
  • The body 1 comprises a cross-member 3 from which two arms 4 extend donwards.
  • Each arm 4 is divided longitudinally into separate portions 5, 5′ each of which is lowerly connected to the corresponding portion of the other arm by a corresponding bar 6, 6′.
  • Each bar 6, 6′ is of C cross-section, but can be of U cross-section or have any other shape and configuration suitable for the purpose.
  • When in use, the trousers 7 are disposed on the bar 6 but are then "deviated" by being passed between the bars 6 and 6′ so that they are carried on only one side of the bar 6′ and are retained by this latter by adherence against the bar 6.
  • From the aforegoing it is apparent that the trouser hanger according to the invention has numerous advantages, and in particular:
    - it is simple to construct as it can be formed by a single frontal press-moulding operation using simple equipment and with reduced construction times;
    - it enables all the aforesaid advantages to be obtained in a very economical form, which means that it is suitable for widespread use as a disposable clothes hanger.

Claims (5)

1. A trouser hanger provided with a trouser retention bar and comprising a transverse body (1) provided with a suspension hook (2), characterised in that two downwardly directed arms (4) extend from the ends of said body and are divided longitudinally into two elastically divergeable portions (5, 5′) which are connected to the corresponding portions of the other arm by two parallel bars (6, 6′) which form the trouser support bar (6) and the trouser retention element (6′) respectively.
2. A trouser hanger as claimed in claim 1, characterised by being of plastics construction.
3. A trouser hanger as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the two bars (6, 6′) are of C cross-section.
4. A trouser hanger as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the bars (6, 6′) are superposed.
5. A trouser hanger as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the bars (6, 6′) are coplanar when in the rest condition.
