Abstract

Aluminium suitcases or similar suitcases, which consist of several panels and a frame composed of profile elements, serve in many cases for transporting and for storing expensive equipment. In this case, the profile elements of the frame form two outer profiles and two central profiles. The outer profiles and central profiles are connected to each other by perpendicular profile strips. The intention of the invention is to improve the stability of a suitcase of this type. The invention proposes to manufacture the central profiles of uninterrupted and continuous profile strips, these central profiles having a rounded contour in the region of the suitcase edges, inserts being able to avoid weakening of the central profiles in the region of the suitcase edges. Furthermore, the stability can be increased by the fact that the individual profile elements are linked by means of pin connections to connection elements which connect the individual profile elements to one another. Finally, the outer profiles can advantageously be formed from angular profile strips, and the individual elements of the suitcase can be bonded together so that an extremely stable structure is achieved by this means too.

Description

The invention relates to a suitcase according to the preamble of the main claim.

Such cases, which use, for example, plates made of aluminum or aluminum-clad wooden plates and are then known under the term aluminum case, are used, for example, to accommodate high-quality devices such as photographic or video equipment. In contrast to the softer carrier bags, which are also available, they are primarily intended to provide robust protection for the high-quality and expensive devices.

Such cases have three levels in which the profile strips run, which form a frame for the individual plates. These levels are formed on the one hand by the two outer profiles, which run around the bottom or lid of the case as the top or bottom of the three levels, and by two middle profiles, which form the middle level and together when the case is closed adjoin others.

The invention has for its object to improve the stability of a generic case.

This problem is solved by one-piece circumferential center profiles that are rounded in the area of the case edges.

This configuration achieves a much greater stability of the case than when using four individual profile sections to form a middle profile, the four individual profile sections being connected to one another by edge reinforcements. The one-piece circumferential center profile with rounded edges is also more stable than a one-piece circumferential center profile, in which the edges are angular, because with this strong deformation the material of the center profile is structurally heavily loaded and accordingly has little load reserve.

In addition, the profile strips of the central profiles typically have a certain thickness, so that this profile strips can not be bent readily through 90 o. Correspondingly, in such profile strips, a recess is provided towards the inside of the case, so that the profile material is reduced to a minimum in the area of the later kink and can be bent at this point. This measure, however, further weakens the profile in the corner area.

For this reason, it can be advantageous to provide recesses for the manufacture of the rounded case edge in the area of the middle profiles, whereby the rounding of the profile creates a larger space facing the inside of the case, which a special use can fill, so that here in contrast to the kinked middle profiles can compensate for the reduction in cross-section.

In addition, it can be advantageous to form the eight case corners from special molded parts, which fix the outer profiles and the vertical profile strips with the help of tenon joints and thereby ensure good stability and a secure fit of the individual profile elements on the case corner. The stability, in particular of the longer profile parts, namely the outer profiles, is supported by the fact that such a case corner covers these outer profiles to a certain extent.

By designing the outer profiles as angularly edged and non-rounded profiles, these profiles are given additional stability and, moreover, the case is given a more elegant and flatter appearance than when using rounded outer profiles.

Caps, which are inserted into the inside of the eight case corners, offer an advantageous appearance and, in particular, good cleaning options, so that there are no badly accessible edges or hollows where profile elements meet.

Finally, the stability of the entire case can be increased by gluing the individual components of the case together.

Dabei zeigt

  • Fig. 1 eine schaubildliche Gesamtansicht des Koffers,
  • Fig. 2 eine Kofferkante vom Kofferinneren her gesehen und
A case according to the invention is shown with the aid of the drawings. It shows
  • 1 is a diagrammatic overall view of the case,
  • Fig. 2 seen a case edge from inside the case and
  • Fig. 3 shows the edge of the case of Fig. 2, wherein the individual components are shown pulled apart.

In Fig. 1 it can be seen that the case consists of individual straight plates, namely a cover plate 1, which is assigned a similar but not shown bottom plate opposite. Furthermore, from a front plate 2, which has an upper section 2a and a lower section 2b and to which similar back plates are assigned. Finally, the case has two side plates 3, one of which is shown, the upper section of which is labeled 3a and the lower section of which is labeled 3b.

The plates 1, 2 and 3 of the case are connected to one another by profiled strips, with outer profiles 4 each adjoining the cover plate 1 and the base plate (not shown), while in the middle of the case two middle profiles 5 abut one another, which surround the two half-shells of the case.

In addition to these horizontal profiles 4 and 5, the plates 1 to 3 of the case are still connected by vertical profile strips 6, each of which runs vertically between two superimposed case corners.

In the area of the case corners, the two elements of the outer profile 4 are connected to the vertical profile bar 6 by case corners 7, which are designed as one-piece plastic molded parts and which partially cover the elements of the outer profile 4. On the case corners 7 upward or downward facing crooks 8 are formed, the cams 8 each extending only over half of the top and bottom of a case corner 7. Due to this design and due to the different orientation of the cams 8 on the upward or downward-facing case corners 7, a stackability of several suitcases is effected one above the other, in which the cams 8 of different suitcases make it more difficult or impossible for the individual suitcases to slide over one another.

An edge of the case of FIG. 1 is designated in more detail in FIG. 2, the base plate and the lower sections 2a of the front plate 2 and 3a of the side plate 3 not being shown. The vertical profile bar 6 forms the edge of the case and receives at its upper end a one-piece insert 9, which in turn defines the rounded area of the central profile 5. This rounded area of the central profile 5 has a recess so that only the outward-facing wall remains of the essentially H-shaped profile cross-section in the area of the case edge.

Through the gently rounded edge course of this, the structure of the profile material is not as heavily loaded in this bending portion as at 90 o would be the case for example when buckling of such a profile. Furthermore, the insert 9 fills out the removed cross-sectional part of the central profile 5 and also fixes the two ends, at which the cross-section is still H-shaped, by means of a pin connection, so that, in this edge region, the stability of the profile bar forming the central profile 5 is scarcely is reduced or impaired.

Der Zapfen 11 ist dabei dreiteilig ausgebildet, um sich einerseits in den mittleren Kanal und andererseits in die beiden äußeren Nuten der Profilleiste 6 erstrecken zu können.3, the formation of pins 10 and 11, with which the insert 9 extends into the central profile 5 and into the vertical profile strip 6, can be clearly seen. The pin 11 is formed in three parts, on the one hand, in the middle channel and on the other hand to be able to extend into the two outer grooves of the profile bar 6.

The case corner 7 has pins which are similar to the pins 11 of the insert 9 and also serve to fix the vertical profile bar 6. Furthermore, the case corner 7 has pins 12 on which the elements of the outer profile 4 are inserted. To increase the stability, these pins 12 are arranged at a distance from an outer surface 14 of the case corner 7, so that the outer profiles 4 are not only fixed on the pin 12, but also between the pin 12 and the outer surface 14. This arrangement makes the optical Appearance improved in that an always clean and seamless connection of the outer profiles 4 to the case corners 7 is achieved.

In order not to create a poorly accessible trough in the area of the case corner 7 in an assembled composite of the individual elements shown in FIG. 3, this trough is covered by a cap 15, so that, as can be seen particularly from FIG. 2, a flush closure and connection of the individual profile elements in the area of the case corner 7 is reached. This prevents the vertical profile bar 6 and the outer profile 4 from creating sharp-edged possibilities in the area of the case corner 7 for damaging the devices inside the case, that cleaning in this corner is made difficult, or that small parts such as screws or the like in such a trough disappear unreachable.

The case shown and described gives the continuous center profile 5 a very good stability, which can be further increased by the fact that the pins 10, 11 and 12 are dimensioned so that they fix the associated profile elements slightly clamping, so that thereby a secure bond of individual frame parts is effected with each other. The plates 1, 2 and 3 defined later in the frame further increase the stability of the case. In addition, the individual frame parts can be glued to one another or to the plates, which brings about a further gain in stability, particularly in the case of larger suitcases.

The outer profiles 4, as can also be seen in particular from FIGS. 2 and 3, have an angled cross section, so that the stability compared to round cross sections is improved. In addition, the case as a whole (FIG. 1) appears flatter and less bulbous than a case with the same dimensions solutions, but round outer profiles.
