Abstract
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Aufweiten von an den Stirnflächen an sich offenen Hohlprofilen aus einem metallischen Werkstoff, insbesondere aus Stahl, auf eine Form, die durch ein das Hohlprofil umgebendes geteiltes Außenwerkzeug vorgegeben ist, wobei die Stirnflächen mittels Dichtköpfen verschlossen werden und innerhalb des Hohlprofils ein hydraulischer Innendruck zur Verformung aufgebracht wird. Um ein Verfahren zur hydraulischen Auf weitung von metallischen Hohlprofilen anzugeben, das möglichst einfach durchführbar ist und bei dem insbesondere die Abdichtung des Hohlprofils ohne großen Vorrichtungs aufwand erfolgt, wird vorgeschlagen, daß der starre Teil der Dichtköpfe jeweils über einen elastischen hohlen Dichtring gegenüber dem Hohlprofil abgedichtet wird, indem der Dichtring in seinem Inneren mit einem Druck P₁, der stets größer als der zur Verformung des Hohlprofils gerade angewendete Druck P₂ gehalten wird, beaufschlagt und zur Anlage an die innere oder äußere Oberfläche des Hohlprofils gebracht wird, wobei die Aufweitung des Hohlprofils im Bereich des Dichtringes von außen auf ein Maß begrenzt wird, das innerhalb der Anpassungsmöglichkeit des Dichtringes an die Oberfläche des Hohlprofils liegt.
