Description

The invention relates to a folding box with side flaps with side folding corners arranged between two adjacent, pivotable top flaps, the folding corners being foldable over both top flaps.

In a known box (GB-PS 1 202 565), the folding corners are turned under the two cover flaps on the side flaps. As a result, the narrow side of the folding box cannot be sealed, because a gap is created along the edge of the folding corner when the upper cover flap is glued on, through which dust can penetrate or escape.

In folding boxes according to US Pat. No. 3,120,334, there are only two instead of four folding corners per base or top surface.

At the corners where the folding corners are missing, a dustproof closure cannot be guaranteed.

The folding box according to GB-PS 2 017 641 has a folding corner at every corner of the folding box. In this case, however, the fold corners are turned over the lower cover flap, but still under the upper cover flap, so that the leakage along the edge of this fold corner is not eliminated. The upper cover flap cannot be bent so that the underside of the cover flap always lies close to the end faces of the edges of the folding corners. Dust-tightness is not guaranteed even with large folding corners. The known folding boxes are therefore not suitable for storing and sending dusty media, for example loose powder. Rather, this must be introduced into these boxes in dust-tightly sealed bags so that it can be transported in the box. In the case of these known folding boxes, however, dust present in the surroundings can also get into the interior of the folding box through the cracks in the closure.

A folding box of the type mentioned is known from FR-A 1 028 741. Although this folding box has folding corners that can be folded in at the side, these folding corners, due to the fact that they are folded in, do not guarantee dust-tight packaging. In addition, the side flaps are very bulky due to the high folding corners when the closure is folded.

The inventor has set himself the task of developing a folding box that has a dustproof seal.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that glue is applied in the form of a strip on the inside and in the vicinity of its bending line on the side plates adjacent to the cover plates, and in that this strip of glue also covers the outside of the folded folding corners. This ensures that the otherwise difficult-to-seal corner of the folding box becomes tight and the flap and the folding corner firmly adheres to the underlying flap which is folded in transversely to it. A glue strip is also to be understood as a strip of material that welds against hot running.

In one embodiment of the invention, at least one cover flap has a recess (offset) on its lateral edge on its upper, free edge. In the free space that has been achieved by resetting the edge at this point, the lower cover flap can nestle closely against the linkage of the side flap. If the recess is on the upper cover flap, this recess makes it easier to fold in the upper cover flap when the folding corner is folded in. This recess can be provided, in particular on the upper cover flap in embodiments of the invention, also after the bending line of the cover flap via which the cover flap is connected to the side wall of the box.

In one embodiment of the invention, the folding corner has the shape of an isosceles, right-angled triangle, on the long side of which the bending line is scratched. This has the advantage that the folding corner lies flat and without bulging on the side flap after the folding process. The scoring of this bending line is not disadvantageous in the present case, because at least one cover flap is folded in first and only then a side flap.

In Ausführungsfo F of the invention men have the cover plates other than the mentioned offset an approximately rectangular shape. The shape of the side flaps can be of any type, only in the area of the folding corner they should have a bending line which runs at an angle of 45 ° to the bending line around which the side flap can be folded.

The folding box can consist of cardboard material or of plastic-aluminum composite material with different barrier properties, in particular of plastic-coated cardboard material. In the latter case, the tabs can also be connected to one another by hot air welding.

If there is an adhesive strip on the upper edge of the rectangular cover flap and along the lower edge of the tapered side flap, a particularly favorable dust-tight seal is achieved. The dust-tight closure can be made equally on the top and / or bottom of the box cut.

  • Fig. 1 zeigt eine Draufsicht auf den flachliegenden Schachtelzuschnitt;
  • Fig. 2 zeigt die aufgestellte Faltschachtel nach dem Einschlagen der unteren Decklasche;
Further features emerge from the dependent claims and from the following description of an embodiment in conjunction with the drawing. The individual features can be implemented individually or in groups in embodiments of the invention.
  • Fig. 1 shows a plan view of the flat box blank;
  • Fig. 2 shows the folded box after folding in the lower cover flap;
  • Fig. 3 shows the box set up with the cover flaps and the side flaps still raised.

In the embodiment of the invention shown in the drawing, the upper half of a flat-lying folding box with glued is in Fig. 1 Longitudinal seam 1 shown. A side wall 4 of the folding box has a laterally arranged flap 3, to which a front wall 2 is glued. An approximately rectangular cover flap 6 is connected to the front wall 2 via a bending line 5, and a side flap 8 is connected to the side wall 4 via a bending line 7. The side wall 4 continues upwards beyond the bending line 7, its upper edge 9 extends approximately one third of the height of the tab 8 beyond the bending line 7 upwards. This edge should be relatively short so that it can be wetted with glue by the machine over its entire length and thus the entire folding corner 14 after folding. In this part of the side wall 4 projecting upwards, in the extension of the edge line 11 of the side flap 8, there is a bending line 13 which delimits a folding corner 14 which is formed by the bending line 13, 1 and the upper edge 9 of the side wall 4. The bending line 13 can also be scored. This ensures that the folding corner 14 after the folding process lies flat and without bulging between the tabs.

After the cardboard blank has been punched out, the tab 3 adjoining the side wall 4 is glued to the inside of the box wall 2 and in this form is fed to the company which fills the folding box. The folding box is then set up in the company and both the bottom and the lid closure are produced as follows. First the lower cover flap 6 is hammered in (FIG. 2). The adhesive is then applied in the form of a strip 16 near its upper edge to the upper cover flap 17 and this flap is also hammered in, whereby it sticks to the lower cover flap 6. When the cover flaps 6 and 17 are turned in, the fold corners 14 lie against the inner surface of the side flaps 8 and 19 (FIG. 3). An adhesive strip 20 adjoining the bending line 7 is then applied to the inner surface of the side flaps 8 and 19 which have previously been slightly spread apart and to the outer surfaces of the fold corners 14 adjoining them. If the side flaps 8 and 19 are then hammered in, they lie on the outer surface of the upper cover flap 17 and the adhesive strip 20 applied to the side flap and the outer surface of the folding corner also glues the side flaps 8, 19 to the cover flap 17 in a dust-tight manner.

The lower cover flap 6 and / or the upper cover flap 17 then has a small cutout 23 (offset) on its side edge 21 extending in the longitudinal seam 1 and on its free edge 22 shown in FIG. 1. The cover plate 6 can therefore nestle closely against the articulation of the side plate 8. As a result, after folding the side flap, the folding box is already leak-tight using a glue point.

The side flap 8 can be variable in shape and size in the area above the folding corner 14. This part has no influence on the function of the dust tightness. It no longer has to rejuvenate there. At the end of this tab 8, any size and shape can be selected. In order to provide sufficient space for the adhesive strip 20, it has a height of at least 10 mm in embodiments of the invention. The length of the edge 9 can be approximately 7 mm in embodiments of the invention.

When using a plastic-coated cardboard material, the technique of hot air welding can also be used. Because of the good sealing properties of the folding box according to the invention, it can be used for powdery products and also for pasty products. The folding box according to the invention can be processed on conventional erecting and cartoning machines without any particular problems.
