Abstract

A device for counting garment hangers (H) on a rail (R) has a body (1) with a roller (4) for rolling along the rail (R). A detector (5,6) is mounted in the body (1) for detecting garment hangers (H) as the device is moved along the rail (R). A counter (72) is coupled to the detector (5,6) for displaying (8) a count of the number of hangers (H) passed as the device is moved along the rail (R). The roller (4) has an engaging portion of resiliently compressible material for yieldingly engaging with hangers (H) on the rail (R).
