Description

The invention relates to a flock yarn which consists of an advanced carrier thread with an adhesive jacket and a prepared, electrostatically introduced flock. The flock is distributed all around and essentially radially with a certain, but selectable titer and with a certain, but selectable cutting length and density on the carrier thread / jacket.
The well-known, frequently used flock yarn consists of a carrier thread made of polyamide and, because of its good properties, made of polyamide flock. This flock yarn has a relatively high abrasion resistance and high abrasion resistance. The light fastness or the light resistance is improved by suitable coloring and / or by UV stabilizers. As a rule, the tips of the polyamide flock are affected by exposure to the sun's rays. Such a flock yarn can be improved with regard to its light resistance.
It is known that polyester material has a much better light resistance compared to the polyamide material and a high light fastness in the long term. The polyester material is less favorable in terms of abrasion resistance and abrasion resistance than the polyamide material.
The object of the invention is therefore to improve a flock yarn with regard to its light resistance by using a suitable material and to essentially maintain the good physical properties of the abrasion resistance and the abrasion resistance. This is achieved according to the invention in that the flock consists of different materials, including polyester flock and polyamide flock. This so-called mixed flock is evenly distributed on the carrier thread / jacket. This gives the flock yarn improved lightfastness due to the existing polyester flock.
The statistical distribution can be 50% polyester and 50% polyamide flock. The arrangement of the flock from these different materials is to be produced in such a way that polyester flock fiber and polyamide flock fiber are alternately present side by side.
The flocking technology is able to do this on the basis of preparatory measures and the existing means and methods for all-round flocking.
Depending on the later use of the flock yarn, the distribution of the mixed flock can be, for example, 70% polyamide flock and 30% polyester flock. This is an application example for upholstery fabrics. However, the distribution can also be, for example, 30% polyamide flock and 70% polyester flock. The wall coverings as well as in automobile construction the side door cladding, the headlining and the rear shelf should be mentioned here as examples.

To this extent, the lightfastness of the polyester advantageously improves the flock yarn product. This is also associated with cost advantages; because polyester is relatively inexpensive in terms of raw material and manufacture. The flock yarn, which has mixed flock made of polyamide and polyester, is both elastic and flexible as well as lightfast and inexpensive.

A further improvement of the flock yarn can be achieved by another feature. It relates to the carrier thread, which can also be formed from polyester material. Mixing flock, which has different cutting lengths for polyester and polyamide, is preferably assigned to this carrier thread. The elastic, flexible polyamide is preferably kept somewhat longer in the cutting length than the polyester flock. Preferred cutting lengths are 1.1mm for the polyamide flock and 0.7mm for the polyester flock. Both flock materials can have the same titer, for example a fineness of 3.3 dtex.
With different titers, the polyamide flock can have a fineness of 3.0 dtex and the polyester flock can have a fineness of 1.7 dtex. These training features provide a densely flocked flock yarn with a mixed flock, which guarantees good abrasion resistance and high abrasion resistance thanks to the cutting length and titer of the polyamide flock and very good lightfastness due to the cutting length and titer of the polyester flock.

If the flock yarn is subject to exceptionally high mechanical and heat-stressing stresses and should also be light-resistant, the mixed flock can consist of polyamide and polyester flock and additionally of aramid flock.

The latter is well suited in terms of the physical properties of tensile and compressive strength, kink resistance and modulus of elasticity to improve the flock yarn in this regard. Here, the aramid flock is at least shorter than the two flock types polyamide and polyester used.

  • Fig. 1 einen Querschnitt durch ein Flockgarn,
  • Fig. 2 einen Querschnitt durch ein weiteres Flockgarn.
The flock yarn according to the invention is illustrated and explained using two examples.
It shows
  • 1 shows a cross section through a flock yarn,
  • Fig. 2 shows a cross section through another flock yarn.

According to Fig. 1, the carrier thread of the flock yarn 1 is designated 2. The carrier thread is made of polyester yarn. The adhesive coat made of acrylate is designated by 3.
The flock 4, which is essentially radial to the carrier thread and is present all around, consists of polyamide flock 5 with a cutting length of 1.1 mm and 3.3 dtex fineness and of polyester flock 6 with a cutting length of 0.7 mm and with a fineness of 3.3 dtex. The flock yarn is elastic and flexible thanks to the polyamide flock and the flock yarn is lightfast due to the polyester flock. The two flock types, polyamide flock and polyester flock, each hold 50%.

According to FIG. 2, the flock yarn 11 consists of a rayon thread 12 with an adhesive jacket 13 made of acrylate and a mixed flock 14. The mixed flock here consists of 1.1 mm long polyamide flock 15, 0.7 mm long polyester flock 16 and 0.4 mm long aramid flock 17. Because the polyester flock is used because of its high lightfastness, it has no significant part in the strength of the flock yarn, which is achieved by the other two types of flock, the polyamide flock and the high-strength aramid flock, and can therefore be more finely titered than that Polyamide and aramid flock.

The use of the flock yarn with mixed flock for improved lightfastness in the long run is not limited to the examples mentioned for upholstery textiles or automotive textiles, but can be used with advantage wherever the lightfastness of textiles is important.
