Abstract

The invention relates to a composite roll with a basic roll body (1) made of a steel and with at least one roll ring (3) which forms a working surface of the composite roll, is made of a work material and is accommodated in a seat which is formed in the basic roll body (1), determines the position of the roll ring (3) in one axial direction of the roll and is open in the other axial direction of the roll, and with an end part (4) which is firmly connected to the basic roll body (1) and, together with the seat, fixes the roll ring (3) axially with respect to the roll. The end part (4) is connected to the basic roll body (1) and the roll ring (3) by hot isostatic pressing. <IMAGE>
