Description

The invention relates to a rotatable plug-in coupling for connecting a suction hose provided with electrical conductors to a vacuum cleaner housing, in which plug-in coupling provided in or on the suction hose electrical lines via a movable contact arrangement, comprising a plug-in coupling sleeve connected to the suction hose and a coupling receptacle provided on the vacuum cleaner housing arranged slip rings and sliding contacts, are electrically connected to an existing circuit in the vacuum cleaner housing, the slip rings and sliding contacts simultaneously forming the mechanical separation point of the circuit in the plug-in coupling.

Such a coupling is known from DE-AS 17 28 486. With this clutch, two slip rings are arranged at an axial distance on the inner circumference of the clutch receptacle provided on the vacuum cleaner housing. On the outer circumference of the coupling sleeve connected to the suction hose there are two radially projecting contact pins which serve as sliding contacts. These contact pins are circumferentially offset from one another and spaced apart in the axial direction by the same amount as the slip rings. In order to be able to insert the coupling sleeve into the coupling receptacle, it has corresponding grooves which extend in the axial direction and through which the radially projecting contact pins can be pushed as far as the slip rings.

Such a design of a plug-in coupling has various disadvantages. First of all, the radially projecting contact pins are constantly exposed to the risk of damage. The slip rings located on the inner circumference of the clutch holder can easily get dirty. The coupling sleeve of the suction hose can only be inserted into the coupling receptacle in certain positions. Each time a coupling sleeve is inserted into the coupling receptacle, one contact pin slides across the one slip ring, which can cause annoying grooves. The axial spacing of the slip rings results in a relatively large axial length of the coupling parts. As a result of this length, when the suction hose is pulled transversely to the longitudinal direction of the coupling, high moment forces occur within the coupling.

Schleifringen an. From US-A-3 339 168 a rotatable but axially fixed coupling between a suction hose provided with electrical conductors and the connecting piece of the suction hose which can be inserted into the suction opening of a vacuum cleaner is known. Within the connecting piece, two sliding tracks are arranged radially concentrically with respect to one another, which are also opposed to radially concentrically arranged slip rings on an intermediate piece connected to the suction hose. These slip rings and slideways are electrically connected via corrugated spring washers inserted between these elements. These wave washers alternate with their wave arches on the sliding tracks or slip rings arranged on the connecting piece and on the intermediate piece. The sliding tracks arranged on the connecting piece are each connected via contact pins to a contact surface provided on the front side of the connecting piece. When the connecting piece is inserted into the suction opening of the vacuum cleaner, these contact surfaces come into contact with corresponding mating contacts provided in the suction opening and thereby establish the electrical connection. The contact surfaces and the mating contacts are connected to one another at rest when the connecting piece is inserted.

An diesen Kontaktringen liegen Federkontakte an, die an einer Gehäusewand des Anschlußgliedes befestigt und mit den elektrischen Versorgungsleitungen verbunden sind.FR-A-2 226 968 relates to a vacuum cleaner in which a suction hose provided with electrical conductors can be rotated by means of a connecting member, but is otherwise fixed to it the vacuum cleaner housing is connected. A holding member connected to the suction hose is rotatably arranged in the connecting member. The holding member is provided with an annular flange on which contact rings connected to the conductors of the suction hose are arranged radially concentrically. At these contact rings are spring contacts, which are attached to a housing wall of the connecting member and connected to the electrical supply lines.

The invention has for its object to provide a plug-in coupling of the type described above, which does not have the described disadvantages of the known plug-in coupling and which is characterized by easy assembly.

The achievement of the object is achieved according to the invention in that the slip rings are arranged concentrically in the radial direction on an annular support which can be plugged onto the outside of an inner tube of the coupling sleeve which can be inserted into the coupling receptacle and can be fixed in position on the inner tube and in that the sliding contacts are arranged axially movable in the coupling receptacle under spring force.

The slip rings are completely removed from the area exposed to dirt. When the coupling is plugged together, the parts of the sliding contact arrangement no longer slide over one another, so that no damage can occur. Even parts protruding beyond the outer contour and thus exposed to danger are not present in the coupling design described. The slip rings arranged radially concentrically to one another result in a corresponding reduction in the axial length of the coupling parts. The arrangement of the slip rings on the separate ring-shaped carrier makes assembly considerably easier.

The fact that the slip rings are inserted in grooves of the carrier which are formed concentrically to one another, results in a very stable and pre possible deformation protective arrangement of the slip rings. In such grooves, the slip rings can be held very securely by integrally formed fastening tabs which are inserted and caulked on the side opposite the grinding side through corresponding openings in the carrier.

In turn, the sliding contacts are expediently also arranged on a separate contact carrier. The sliding contacts on the contact carrier can be clamped accordingly by a three-point support. To generate the necessary contact pressure of the sliding contacts on the slip rings, the sliding contacts are slightly adjusted by the slip rings against the tension on the contact carrier. This is made possible by the freedom of movement in the contact carrier.

FIG 3

A suction hose 3 is inserted into the coupling receptacle 2 with a coupling sleeve 5 arranged at one end and is rotatably held by a locking device 4 not shown in detail in the drawing, for example by the DE-GM 85 22 551 known.

The coupling sleeve 5 is angled according to the connection of the suction hose 3 on the top of the vacuum cleaner housing 1. At its end which can be inserted into the coupling receptacle 2, the coupling sleeve 5 has an inner tube 6 which opens into a tubular part 7 of the coupling receptacle 2. The inner tube 6 is concentrically surrounded by a tube extension 8 which is open towards the end of the inner tube and which engages with its free end in the coupling receptacle 2 which is correspondingly enlarged towards the outside. Between the inner tube 6 and the tube extension 8 there is an annular space 9 which serves to receive the latching device 4 and a carrier 10 for slip rings 11 and 12 which are inserted into corresponding grooves 13 and 14 of the carrier 10. The carrier 10 is pushed onto the inner tube 6 on the outside and is held on the inner tube 6 by a slide 16 provided with claws 15. For further fixation of the position of the support 10, stop ribs on the tube extension 8 are used, which also ensure a minimum play for easy actuation of the locking device 4. The carrier 10 is secured against rotation by means of a radially projecting pin 38 which engages in a corresponding slot in the wall of the coupling sleeve 5, which slot is not visible in the drawing. Through this pin 38, the correct positioning of the carrier takes place at the same time with regard to the electrical connection of the slip rings 11 and 12.

The arrangement of the slip rings 11 and 12 in the grooves 13 and 14 protects them against deformation. In addition, the assembly of the slip rings 11 and 12 is very simplified because they only need to be inserted into the chamfered grooves 13 and 14. The slip rings 11 and 12 are held axially in the grooves 13 and 14 by means of fastening tabs 17 which are inserted into openings 18 provided on the carrier 10 and caulked in these openings 18, as shown in FIG. It is particularly advantageous that the openings 18 flare outwardly. The connection Intermediate lines 19 to the slip rings 11 and 12 take place on the side of the slip rings 11 and 12 facing the bottom of the groove. For this purpose, cutouts 20 are provided on the carrier, which allow the intermediate lines 19 to pass through (FIG. 3).

Sliding contacts 21 and 22 cooperating with the slip rings 11 and 12 are arranged on a separate contact carrier 23 which can be connected to the vacuum cleaner housing 1 in the area of the coupling receptacle 2. The sliding contacts 21 and 22 consist of S-shaped bent metal strips, at one end 24 of which a feed line 26 is connected. With their other end 25, the sliding contacts 21 and 22 rest against the slip rings 11 and 12 and thus establish the electrical connection.

The sliding contacts 21 and 22 are shaped so that in their rest position, i.e. when the coupling sleeve 5 is not inserted, are braced by a three-point support. This three-point support is by a stop bar 27, on which the sliding contacts 21 and 22 each abut at one end 24, a support bar 28 on which the sliding contacts 21 and 22 rest in the area of their one S-arm and by locking tongues 29, which are elastic Tabs 30 are formed and on which the sliding contacts 21 and 22 abut in the area of their other S-bend. A holding cam 27a is formed on each stop bar, which extends through a corresponding opening in one end 24 of the sliding contacts 21 and 22 and thus secures the relevant sliding contact 21 or 22 in the vertical direction. In addition, a stop tongue 27b is punched on each sliding contact, the free end of which rests laterally on the support strip 28 and thereby secures the respective sliding contact 21 or 22 in the horizontal direction.

Below the other S-bend, there is a free movement space 31 on the contact carrier 23, so that the sliding contacts 21 and 22 when the coupling sleeve 5 is inserted into the coupling receptacle 2 from their rest position, in which they are with their other S-bend can rest accordingly by the tension on the locking tongues 29 of the tabs 30. Sufficient contact pressure is generated by the bracing, which holds the sliding contacts 21 and 22 in contact with the sliding rings 11 and 12. The tabs 30 are formed by incisions 32 in the side walls 33 of the freedom of movement 31.

In a connection box 34 connected to the suction hose 3, a printed circuit board 35 is inserted, on which the intermediate lines 19 are connected to control lines 36 laid in the jacket of the suction hose 3. A line channel 37 for the intermediate lines 19 is formed by a cover 39 which can be snapped onto the locking cams 5 integrally formed on the coupling sleeve 5, so that there are no longer any exposed line parts. The cover 39 engages with a locking tab 40 in an insertion opening 41 of the terminal box 34. As a result, the junction box 34 is not only closed, but the intermediate lines 19 are secured against twisting.
