Abstract

The wire piece (1) is bent to form a binder, an eye (4) and two wire webs (6) and (7) being connected to an opposite eye (5). One end (2) of the wire piece (1) is welded to the point of transition (8) of the opposite eye (5) to the wire web (6), while the other end (3) is welded to the wire web (7), separated from the wire-piece end (2) on the opposite eye (5). As a result, parts which project outwardly beyond the binder and which lead to entanglement of the binders and to a risk of injuring the hand when removing binders from a bundle in the hand are avoided. <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to a binder, in particular for connecting concrete reinforcing irons, from a piece of wire with fixed ends, which is bent into a closed wire loop in such a way that two spaced-apart eyelets are formed on the binder ends, which are connected to the eyelet by two a binding end crossing wire webs are connected to each other.

In a known binder of the type mentioned above (CH-PS 647'032), the two wire piece ends are welded together. The connection point of the wire piece ends lies between the eyelets in the middle area of the wire piece webs. Even if the ends of the piece of wire are chamfered before welding and the two inclined surfaces are welded to one another, the connection point is an outwardly projecting structure. This protruding structure leads to snagging and therefore to difficulties in removing individual binders from a bundle of them held in the hand. There is also a risk of injury to the hand due to protruding parts of the connection point when individual binders are pulled out of the bundle of hands. In addition, the welding of tapered ends is expensive. The known binders do not always have the desired stability.

It is therefore the object of the invention to provide a binder of the type mentioned at the outset, the connection point of which prevents jamming when individual binders are removed from a bundle and whose stability is to be increased.

To achieve the object, the two ends of the wire piece are fastened to one another within the area of the counter eyelet located at the other end of the tie in the tie of the type mentioned at the beginning.

By fastening the two wire ends in the binder according to the invention, the one web can be guided past the fastening point of the one wire end. As a result, this attachment point, which is preferably located at the transition between the wire web and the mating eyelet, is covered. As a result, material protruding from the binder is avoided at this fastening point. The other end of the wire piece, which is also located in the area of the opposite eye, is not connected to the other end of the wire piece. Due to the separate ends of the wire pieces, better material stability and thus stability of the binder is achieved at least on one eyelet. When gripping the two ends of the tie using the twisting tool to connect the concrete reinforcements, the separate fastening of the two wire webs prevents the eyelet from contracting, which is due to the improved stability of the tie.

Advantageous embodiments of the binder according to the invention can be achieved with the measures of claims 2-8. It is therefore advantageous that the two ends of the wire piece are fastened at separate locations in the area of the counter-eye, ie both are attached to one of the two eyes. Preferably, one end of the wire piece is fastened to the transition of the counter eyelet on one web, while the other web is fastened to the counter eyelet with the other end of the wire piece. The other end of the wire piece lies in the area of the transition of the opposite eye to the other web. The wire piece ends are preferably welded at the previously described locations, but they can also be looped, that is to say bent over for attachment to the counter eyelet. The wire pieces can be parallel to each other, but they can also be twisted together. The eyelet and the counter eyelet can have a round or elongated shape which tapers in the direction of the webs.

The binder according to the invention is explained below in exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawing. Show it :
  • Fig. 1 shows a binder in a view in a schematic representation and
  • Fig. 2 shows another binder in a schematic representation in a view.

The binder according to FIG. 1 consists of a piece of wire 1 with ends 2 and 3, which is bent into a closed wire loop in such a way that a round eyelet 4 is formed on one end of the binder and a round counter-eyelet 5 is formed on the other end of the binder, which are arranged at a distance from one another and are connected to one another via two parallel wire webs 6 and 7. Each eyelet 4, 5 has an approximately circular shape and merges at a transition point 8 or 9 into the respective wire web 6 or 7. The piece of wire 1 can be made of steel or another suitable material.

On the eyelet 4, which consists of an endless part 10 of the wire piece 1, the wire webs 6 and 7 intersect with one another at a crossing point 11 and then run parallel to the counter eyelet 5 at the other end of the tie. The counter eye 5 is bent from an end section 12 of the wire piece 1, the wire piece end 2 at the end section 12 being located at the transition point 8 of the counter eye 5 on the wire web 6 and fastened there, e.g. is welded on. The other end 3 is located on the other web 7 and is attached to the counter eyelet 5 separately from the wire piece end 2, e.g. also welded on.

The wire web 7 is guided past the fastening point of the wire piece end 2 and covers the same through the separately attached wire piece ends 2 and 3 on the mating eyelet 5. A protruding end part 2a of the Wire piece end 2 is thereby covered by the wire piece 7. The attachment of the wire piece end 3 to the counter eyelet 5 ensures that an end part 3a projecting there protrudes into it and cannot protrude outward beyond the binder. The arrangement of the fastening points for the wire piece ends 2 and 3 described above avoids points which can lead to the binding of binders to one another, for example. In addition, the fastening of the wire piece ends 2 and 3, which is carried out separately from one another, leads to increased stability of the binder 1, since contraction of the eyelets 4 and 5 is thereby slowed down. Better material stability is therefore achieved.

As FIG. 2 shows, in which parts that are the same as those in FIG. 2 have the same reference numerals, in the case of a binder 13 there is an eyelet 14 and a counter eyelet 15, which have an elongated shape and are connected by twisted wire webs 16 and 17. The attachment of the wire piece ends 2 and 3 are carried out in the same manner as has already been described in the example above according to FIG. 1. The advantages achieved by the separate fastening of the wire piece ends 2 and 3 for the binder 13 are therefore the same as were also described in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1 described above, for which reason reference is made here.

The elongated shape of the eyelet 14 and the counter eyelet 15 tapering in the direction of the wire webs can also be present in the embodiment according to FIG. 1 described above.
