Abstract

The invention relates to the particular use of a concrete suitable for making protective constructions which enable shooting with hand- and shoulder-fired weapons to be completely safe for those shooting and for their environment. The concrete "absorbs" the bullets and stops them without ricocheting or returning even for a very narrow firing angle. This concrete may be used to make: walls, ceilings and floors of a shooting gallery, - the walls of an exercise area dedicated to the training on a real-life scale of special police and military intervention forces, - the parts of constructions prone to high risk of armed attack, banks, ticket offices, bullet-proof window basements - the reinforcement of door and window frames by injecting the bullet-proof concrete therein. <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to the particular use of a concrete suitable for producing protective structures which allow shooting with handguns and long guns of all calibers, in complete safety for the shooters and their environment.

Currently, the shooting ranges, development area, light wall under bullet-proof glazing, and bullet-proof glazing frames are made respectively of materials related to their structure: agglomerated mineral fiber panels, wood facing, reinforcement metallic, kevlar.

This homogeneous compound concrete is made up of expanded clay aggregates or expanded shales, metallic fibers, galvanized or not depending on whether or not used outdoors, a conventional hydraulic cement, a plasticizing adjuvant.

This concrete obeys the common rules for the manufacture of concrete with light aggregates with incorporated metallic fibers.

The walls, floors, ceilings of the shooting ranges made with the invention "absorb" the bullets and avoid any ricochet from projectiles and bursts of matter. The balls do not cross the invention because they are braked by the fibers which makes it possible to develop other activities without risk behind the walls.

The protective walls have sufficient mechanical characteristics to also serve as the structure of a building.
  • Figure 1 shows a shooting range made with the invention (1), with various activities around - plan view -.
  • Figure 2 shows a shooting range made with the invention (1), with various activities around, moreover the invention also serves as a building structure.

According to a variant, the invention can be used to make prefabricated plates in order to very quickly equip a room with a shooting range at low cost, or reinforce the security of an existing stand whose coating is not satisfactory.

An evolution zone is a large space in which really armed shooters evolve (no shooting simulation). The purpose of this installation is to train police or military intervention specialists by training them in full-scale sets with real ammunition in a real situation.

To date, equipment of this type did not allow the use of all calibers, only the 22 long rifle was possible. Thanks to the invention, the "actors" can train with armaments and operational ammunition (9mm; 5.56; 7.62).

According to a variant, if it is desired to have definitive decorations, these can be produced with the invention.

According to another variant, the peripheral walls produced with the invention can serve as a structure for other adjoining buildings.

The sill walls under the bullet-proof glazing produced with the invention protects the personnel and provides support for the structure, guaranteeing its stability since there is no bursting under the impact of the projectiles.

According to a variant, the invention can be used to make prefabricated plates which will be doubled over the existing structure if the latter does not already have sufficient qualities to stop the balls.

The bullet-proof window frames injected with the invention also become bullet-proof. Take care to take a particle size suitable for the interior section of the uprights.

We will obtain a much lower cost than metallic reinforcements, glass-resin composites, or based on kevlar.
