- the thickness of the paper product 2 is approximately 4 mm in the exemplary embodiment, so that the cutting edge 20 of the counter knife 5 also projects approximately 4 mm in the radial direction. In this way it is ensured that the cavity 21 is gripped by a cutting edge. This triangular cavity 21 results between the back 22 of the bottom paper product 2 on the one hand, the bottom 23 of the next top paper product and the press belt 7 of the lower press device.
- the cutting edge 20 of the counter knife 5 is made of the same material as a ring 30, the cylindrical outer surface 31 of which is designed as a support for the paper products.
- the ring 30 has the following dimensions: its radial length 31 is 16 mm and its width in the axial direction 6 mm.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a cutting device for at least two-ply flat structures, in particular in the form of scales brought by a transport device, with a rotating cutting knife and a counter-rotating counter-knife, the latter partially overlapping in the cutting plane, and a pressing device provided in the cutting area for the flat structures.
Cutting devices, in particular for paper products brought in in the form of scales by conveyor belts, usually consist of a rotating cutting knife which is either ground round or has teeth, for example in the shape of a saw tooth, or is also provided with displaceable blades (patent application P 37 19 721.5 of the applicant of 12 June 1987), and a counter knife, which has a cylindrical edge and press belts, which ensure in the cutting area that the individual paper products are held in such a way that the cut is as smooth as possible. The counter knives thus serve on the one hand as a contact surface or abutment for the paper products and on the other hand as a contact surface for the cutting knife in the overlapping area. Due to the fact that in particular in the case of paper products brought in in the form of scales, a very small hollow space is created on the side facing away from the cutting knife by the bottom edge of the bottom paper product in relation to the bottom surface of the next top paper product, small "fraying" occurs in this, particularly in the case of thicker paper products Area, which not only means that an absolutely smooth end edge of the paper product cannot be reached after the cut, but also that these cut irregularities result differently from top to bottom in the case of thicker paper products.
The invention has for its object to provide a cutting device of the type mentioned, with the irregularities on the trimmed or trimmed edge of the paper products, especially when it comes to so-called. thicker paper products are avoided.
The object is achieved in that, according to the invention, the counter knife has a cutting edge projecting into the cutting plane and an axially extending contact surface for the flat structures.
While such a contact surface is generally known in the case of counter knives, the use of a cutting edge on the counter knife is new, in particular in connection with individually introduced paper products transported in the form of scales. The cutting edge should only be a relatively small Er stretch in the radial direction, especially to meet the above-mentioned shortcomings in cutting, especially of thicker paper products.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the bearing surface or the like on a ring forming the back of the counter knife. intended. The cutting edge can have an angle of approximately 1-5 °, preferably approximately 3 °, with the cutting plane. The cutting edge can also enclose an angle of approximately 13-19 °, preferably approximately 16 °, on its side facing the contact surface.
According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the ring has a depth of approximately 4-8 mm, preferably approximately 6 mm, and in the radial direction a width of approximately 12-20 mm, preferably approximately 16 mm. It is obvious that these details are parameters of the counter knife used and also of the larger cutting knife. Usually the cutting knife is much larger than the so-called. Counter knife, the diameter of the cutting knife between 250 and 320 mm and the counter knife of about 150 mm are common.
The cutting edge preferably extends approximately 2-6 mm, preferably approximately 4 mm, in the radial direction. The fact that the length of the cutting edge in the radial direction can approximately be adapted to the thickness of a paper product should be taken into account here.
The counter knife can be made of hard metal at least in the cutting edge area; the material known under the designation G 20 can be used, for example.
The area of the counter knife delimited by the ring is expediently designed as a thin plate.
