Definitions
- the shooting simulation device does not require that the bang and recoil that occur during the actual shot have to be dispensed with for the practice shot.
- the weapon can be operated with blank cartridges, which bring about these effects in approximately the same way as with the real shot, in which case the detonation can be used as a signal for actuating the switching device.
- the response of the acoustic switch stops the film, so that the projector only outputs the last saved image, and at the same time switches on the signal of the selectively sensitive television camera so that it is punched and stored in memory so that it is on the projected image as a stain, especially as a red light mark.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a shooting simulation device according to the preamble of claim 1, and to a method according to the preamble of claim 9.
Shooting simulation devices are used in particular for practice shooting, but also for pleasure shooting and competitions. They are used at a shooting range where the projector projects a film specially made for the specified purpose with mostly moving targets onto a target screen made of paper that is shot at. There are systems for the use of real firearms in use in which the film remains on the shot and the projector only projects the last complete image taken from a memory. The accuracy can be checked on the screen based on the hole caused by the shot. The paper screen is enriched with gunshot marks. In order to be able to use the screens longer, it is customary to use a multilayer film, the shot holes of which can be made more or less invisible again by shifting the layers relative to one another.
Installation and high consumption of the screen prove to be laborious and uneconomical, and the danger of using firearms requires considerable precautionary measures, which are reflected in extensive construction and operating requirements for shooting ranges. The establishment of new shooting ranges thus encounters numerous obstacles and the operation of the shooting ranges must be carried out in a manner that makes rapid practicing or sport shooting considerably more difficult.
For the purpose of modifying the shooting simulation device in such a way that the exercise or sporting purpose can be achieved in a non-dangerous manner with means that are easy to present, devices have become known in which the weapon itself is only a simulated firearm, which strikes the screen with a light beam "shoots".
A system according to the preamble of claim 1 is known (US Pat. No. 3,996,674) which can be operated according to a method according to the preamble of claim 9. A film projector projects a scene onto the target screen, which is shot with the aid of a bundled infrared flash. A television camera, in front of which the radiation of the projected scene image is filtered and to which only the infrared spectral range of the flash is transmitted, emits its output television signal to a video projector, which in turn projects the recorded point image onto the target screen, where it is there from the film projector projected image is superimposed. However, this visible image disappears again immediately, but can be saved for later playback using a video recorder. The two projectors are very expensive, but an optimal result, especially for shooting training, cannot be achieved.
In the technique of projecting an image onto a target screen with the aid of a video projector and triggering an infrared flash with a simulated weapon, it is also known (EP-A 146 466) that a video camera observes the target screen unfiltered and also the impact of the Infrared flash. When this happens, the film image remains, the infrared point of impact is then made visible on a special video screen.
In another known system (DE-A 3 523 459), a projector also projects on a target screen, specifically from behind. As a shot, an infrared flash is triggered, which is recorded by a camera. At this moment the image is saved, but continues to run on the screen so that the shooter can fire a series of shots. The images can then be retrieved from the memory for viewing and displayed on a screen or on the original target screen including the points of impact.
In the known shooting simulation devices, an effort is made in device technology which is perceived as unpleasant, since the purpose of such devices is to be transportable and to be brought into rooms which are not exclusively intended for shooting purposes. In addition, the result is also not optimal if the shot result can only be evaluated later or at rest.
In contrast, the invention has for its object to perform the bullet-less shooting simulation with the help of a shooting simulation device that is ideal in terms of device simplicity and optimal effectiveness for shooting education.
This is achieved by the invention characterized in claim 1. With this shooting simulation device according to the invention, the method also characterizing the invention according to claim 9 can be carried out. In the usual way, the film with the image of the object to be bombarded is projected onto a screen, which in the context of the innovation can be any screen, for example a white wall, and with the aid of the light source in the firearm, a preferably invisible beam becomes thrown onto the image, the point of impact of which is captured by the television camera, which is selective for this light coming from the weapon. The information about the point of impact is now inserted into the film image thrown by the projector by the color stamping known per se (for example DE-AS 2 361 269, DE-PS 3 238 696), so that it appears as a red spot on the projected image, for example, that stops immediately. By using the color punch technique, it is easy and without any effort for a second projector to display the result immediately after the shot in the field of fire, which means that the result is visible as long as the shooter still remembers his firing sequence. Such memories are very short-lived, since fast shooting is largely a reflex process.
In accordance with the prior art, infrared is particularly suitable as the spectral range for the image emitted by the light source, which can easily be generated in continuous operation, for example with the aid of a laser. It is preferred to operate the light source continuously, but that the light spot is only punched into the projector image at the time the weapon is removed. An alternative possibility would be to actuate the light source only to emit a light pulse when pulling it off, in which case the color punch circuit could be activated continuously.
The shooting simulation device according to the invention does not require that the bang and recoil that occur during the actual shot have to be dispensed with for the practice shot. According to
When setting up the individual parts of the equipment, the projector and the selectively sensitive television camera must be aligned so that given pixels of one element correspond to corresponding pixels of the other element, that is, on the one hand, the projected image and, on the other hand, the image captured by the television camera which only the small, preferably infrared spectral range is processed further, are congruent. This can expediently be achieved by the measures according to claims 6 and 7, that is to say by means of a device coupling of the two instruments. A certain parallax occurs between the projector and the television camera, which can be compensated for by default for a given distance range. If you want to work with strongly changing projection distances, it is advisable to adjust the axes on both sides. However, there is usually no need for this, since the possible projection distance of today's video projectors is limited anyway.

Fig. 1 shows a shooting range in which the shooting simulation equipment is used. The equipment includes an overall case-like image device 1 and a simulated
On the
The image device 1 furthermore contains an
Fig. 2 zeigt in drei verschiedenen Seitenansichten das Bildgerät 1. The function of the equipment can be seen in FIG. 3. The video signal runs together with the associated sound signal from the
By the response of the acoustic switch to the shot, however, the

By means of a suitable circuit, the elaboration of which does not pose any difficulties for the person skilled in the art, still pictures can be taken from the video device or from a memory used in its place and the shot. In this case, only the color punch circuit is activated or deactivated by the
The
It is of interest that the shooting simulation device can be designed and dimensioned so that a shooting simulation operation can be carried out without any danger to the environment and thus without special safety measures, which is equivalent to the operation with live ammunition. The weapon is identical to the sharp weapon in appearance, weight and use, and there is a bang and a recoil when fired. The image device itself can be designed in a size of 70-70-50 cm 3 , so it does not cause any problems for storage or for transport.
Insofar as the parts of the equipment are also used in corresponding known equipment, they can have the same nature within the scope of the invention. Thus, in the prior art, video projectors with three picture tubes and three lenses are used in the direct projection system, with which a projection image with a diagonal of around 2.5 m can be achieved at a projection distance of around 3.5 m. The film can simulate larger or smaller shooting distances through the size of the target objects shown, that is, through the respective viewing angle. With regard to the color television system used, the shooting simulation equipment is not limited, so PAL, SECAM or NTSC are equally possible.
The infrared laser contained in the
