Definitions
- the invention relates to a garbage collection device for the pre-sorted storage of garbage, in particular household garbage, with a garbage can of conventional design and a lid with an additional open garbage container, which is adapted to the cross-sectional dimensions of the garbage can and is provided with two diametrically opposed handles.
- Such a garbage collection device is already known (DE-OS 35 24 781). It serves the goal of pre-sorting household waste at the source at the waste producer, so to speak, so that usable waste can be recycled and possibly composted, thereby contributing to better coping with the constantly washing waste. This is based on the correct knowledge that the success of the separation waste process requires participation in as many households as possible, that this goal can only be achieved if appropriate devices for waste separation are made available to the households, and that the disposal or waste disposal is carried out accordingly must be handled in order to bring about a certain upbringing as well as a general awareness of the problem with regard to waste and the associated relief of the environment.
- the additional waste container is an insert pot with an approximately rectangular outline formed, which is suspended in a conventional garbage can of approximately square cross-section.
- the garbage container has support flanges protruding outwards from the upper edge on its two narrow sides. which are supported on the upper edge of the garbage can when inserted.
- the garbage container or insert pot is adapted in terms of its longitudinal dimension to the garbage can, while its transverse dimension is undersized compared to the garbage can, so that when the insert pot is suspended, the remaining garbage can space can be accessed and filled to the side of the insert pot without the insert pot having to be removed.
- This known garbage collection device therefore assumes that the garbage can volume provided with the garbage can and, for example, emptied weekly by means of municipal garbage vehicles, is sufficient and only has to be divided into separate compartments by use.
- an alternative solution is also provided, in which a fixed vertical partition is provided in the garbage can instead of the loosely suspended insert pot.
- the use of additional garbage cans for collecting recyclable waste which is often not possible due to space constraints, is dispensed with, but disadvantages with regard to handling have to be accepted. Emptying is particularly difficult here.
- the insert pot possibly filled with garbage, must be raised with its entire height beyond the upper garbage can edge, which is already high, so that either the garbage can itself or the garbage can can be emptied.
- the collection or collection of the various valuable materials is not carried out simultaneously and every week, for example Garbage disposal can be carried out but that the different types of garbage such as metals, plastics, glass, paper have to be collected alternately or at greater intervals. Therefore, individual households must also take appropriate precautions.
- the garbage can with a vertical partition these consist in that before each garbage can emptying that garbage chamber is shut off at its upper end by means of an additional closure provided, the content of which is only collected later. It is therefore to be feared that all of this will result in inattentiveness or convenience not being carried out in the required manner and in the lack of the participation of the majority of all households necessary for the success of the waste disposal process.
- Throwing in the garbage through the filling opening provided in a narrow end face of the rectangular flat garbage containers is practicable for waste made of solid materials such as metals, plastics and paper, but is less suitable for the compostable residual waste. This can best be filled in from above, as in the conventional garbage can, through an opening of dimensions corresponding to the container cross section.
- the well-known container tower is too far away from the previous garbage can and its handling. This also applies to the provision of the garbage for, for example, weekly collection or collection by municipal garbage trucks.
- the provision of the entire tower and the simultaneous collection of all types of garbage is comparatively complex since a uniform filling of the garbage containers of the same size with the various types of garbage cannot be expected.
- the invention has for its object to provide a garbage collection device for the pre-sorted storage and provision of garbage, which is space-saving, allows easy filling of all the resulting garbage, allows easy handling when ready for collection and at the same time allows a rational collection of the garbage.
- This object is achieved in that two or more similar waste containers are provided, each having an upper edge with a substantially horizontal support surface and a substantially vertical alignment surface, the lower end of the garbage can and the corresponding dimensions of the lower end of the waste container are adapted so that the garbage can on the individual garbage bins to form a barrel arrangement and the garbage bins are stacked on top of one another to form a sorting tower in a stable arrangement, and that the garbage bins have a closable side filling opening.
- the garbage bin provided has a shortened height in comparison to the previously customary height. It is designed to hold compostable waste such as organic waste.
- waste bins The remaining household waste such as glass, metals, plastics and special waste is collected separately in the various waste bins, which can be stacked on top of one another in a sorting tower to save space.
- waste containers are expediently designed in different colors or with clear markings in order to avoid confusion when filling.
- These refuse containers can have different heights and thus volumes, which means that the different amounts of different types of refuse can be handled.
- the garbage can or compost bin will be emptied by the garbage disposal at regular intervals, for example weekly, as in the previous household waste disposal.
- another type of garbage can be picked up alternately.
- the compost bin is placed on the waste container in question and the barrel arrangement thus formed is made available at the collection point.
- the garbage containers are dimensioned so that emptying is required less frequently than with the compost bin. Accordingly, the entire sorting tower need not be provided for the garbage disposal, rather the garbage can is alternately coupled and provided with one or the other garbage container (sorting container).
- the selection of the sorting bins to be made available depends on the type of waste that is also picked up during the respective garbage collection and, if necessary, also on the degree of filling of the sorting bins.
- two or more sorting containers can be made available for collection regardless of the compost bin.
- the provision and collection of the garbage is particularly simple, without having to do without a complete separation of the garbage during collection and removal.
- no difficult tasks such as lifting bins or containers over their entire height can be performed during the provision.
- the system equipped with the waste collection device according to the invention is associated with relatively low acquisition costs.
- the work involved in sorting the waste generated is low and is easily reasonable for the households.
- each individual is brought up to behave in an environmentally conscious manner, especially if only properly sorted waste is picked up. A re-sorting is then almost unnecessary.
- the organic waste can be processed into compost, while the valuable materials are returned to the economic cycle. Flammable and environmentally friendly material that the market does not accept can be burned in waste incineration plants and used for energy generation.
- the flap closure provided for the filling opening of the waste containers is easy to install and facilitates the filling of the waste and the handling of the collecting device.
- the swivel handle lock for the fixed connection of the bin or the container within the barrel arrangement or the sorting tower also leads to an improvement in the handling options, in particular in the provision or transport between the stand location and the pick-up location. This transport can be made easier in a known manner by the movability of the measures.
- garbage can 3 (compost bin) of comparatively low height and a garbage container 4, which forms a base for the garbage can 3 placed on it.
- the sorting tower 2 shown in FIG. 3 is made up of waste containers 5, 6 and 7 (sorting containers) stacked one on top of the other, the design of which corresponds to the waste container 4, although, as indicated, different container heights can be provided.
- the garbage can 3 is provided with a conventional hinged lid 8.
- the garbage can can be detected in order to tilt the barrel assembly 1 into an inclined position and, if necessary, to transport it on rollers or wheels (not shown).
- the garbage can 3 like the garbage container 4 and also the other containers 5, 6 and 7, has an essentially square horizontal cross section, as shown in FIG. 2.
- the opposite container wall has a filling opening 12 near its upper edge, which extends essentially over the entire wall width.
- This filling opening 12 is assigned a flap 13 serving as a closure, which is explained in more detail below with reference to FIG. 6.
- the two other side walls of the garbage container 4 are each provided near their upper edge with a swivel handle 14 which can be pivoted between a horizontally protruding carrying position according to FIG. 2 and a depending position indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 1.
- the two swivel handles 14 not only serve to lift and move the waste container 4 or the barrel arrangement 1, but also to firmly clamp the waste bin 3 with the waste container 4 in the pivoted-out carrying position. This is explained in more detail with reference to FIGS. 7 to 9.
- the garbage can 3 ⁇ and the garbage container 4 ⁇ are separated and shown with details. Both are provided at their lower ends in the same way with a retracted annular foot 15 or 16 of the same dimensions.
- the outer peripheral surface of the foot forms a vertical centering surface 17 or 18, which merges with a horizontal bearing surface 19 or 20 into the container wall which is slightly inclined upwards and outwards.
- the support surface 19 or 20 is located at the level of the base 21 or 22.
- the centering surfaces 17 and 18 and the support surfaces 19 and 20 are an alignment surface 23, which is formed by the upper edge of the inner peripheral wall of the waste container 4, and one the alignment surface 23 adjoining horizontal support surface 27 so that the garbage can 3 ⁇ can be used with its foot 15 in the garbage container 4 ⁇ , the barrel axis 25 being aligned with the container axis 26 and a stable barrel support being achieved. Since the lower end of the garbage container is designed in the same way as the lower end of the garbage can, various garbage containers can also be stacked coaxially and stably to form a sorting tower, as shown in FIG. 3.
- a differently designed hinged lid 8 ⁇ can be provided, which lies on a circumferential barrel edge flange 27.
- the garbage can 3 ⁇ is provided with two carrying handles 28 formed on opposite side walls.
- fixed shell handles 29 deviating from the swivel handles according to FIGS. 1 to 3 are formed in the peripheral edge flange 30 having the support surface 24.
- FIG. 6 shows the flap 13 assembled with the refuse container 4.
- the flap 13 has a front plate 31, on the upper end of which a grip strip 32 is formed, and two Sidewalls 33 and 34 (Fig. 2), which are substantially circular sector-shaped.
- the front plate 31 is supported at its lower end with a half-shell 35 on a horizontal axis 36 forming the lower boundary of the filling opening 12.
- the side walls 33 and 34 extend in a vertical orientation into the refuse container 4 and each have a nose 37 at their inner upper end, which, as shown in FIG. 6, interacts as a stop with the inner wall of the container above the filling opening 12. Due to the elasticity of the parts made of a plastic, the installation of the flap 13 is easy to carry out.
- the side cheeks 33 and 34 are taken in the closed position of the flap 13 indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 6 by pockets 38 and 39 (FIG. 2), which are provided in a flat design on the two opposing inner walls, which correspond to those with the Connect filler opening 12 provided container wall.
- the pockets 38 and 39 are only opened with a vertical slot towards the filling opening 12, through which the side walls 33 and 34 pass with a narrow guide play.
- a dashed-in clamping guide 40 is provided within the pockets 38 and 39, which narrows the receiving width of the pockets and causes the lugs 37 to be held in place by a clamping force when the flap 13 is pivoted in, so that the flap 13 only swings open is possible with a predetermined effort.
- the waste containers 5 to 7 of the sorting tower 2 correspond to the waste containers 4 and 4 ⁇ .
- the sorting tower 2 can also be formed from more (or fewer) than three containers.
- a cover 41 is provided for the sorting tower 2, which is placed on the uppermost refuse container of the stack this is also covered.
- a swivel handle 14 ⁇ for the garbage container 4 and the other garbage containers is shown.
- the garbage can 3 with its base 21 and its base 15 is also indicated.
- two bearing eyes 42 are formed, which support a horizontal axis 43, which is secured in position by a widened head 44 at each end.
- the pivot handle 14 ⁇ is mounted on the axis 43.
- This has a shell-shaped handle section 45 and a locking section 46 of approximately quarter-circle shape, which are essentially opposite one another on different sides of the axis 43.
- the locking section 46 is provided or knurled on its peripheral surface with axially parallel notches 47.
- the pivotability of the pivot handle 14 ⁇ about the axis 43 is indicated by a double arrow 48.
- the garbage can 3 can be freely placed in the garbage container 4 or lifted from it. If, on the other hand, the swivel handle 14 ⁇ is pivoted upward to carry the barrel arrangement until the locking section 46 with a stop surface 49 bears against a counter surface 50 at the bottom of an edge cut 51 of the container wall, the peripheral surface of the locking section 46 engages with the foot 15 of the waste bin 3, as a result of which a clamping lock between the container and the barrel is achieved. It is therefore not to be feared that the barrel 3 will fall down to the container 4, even if the barrel arrangement is more or less inclined when moving or carrying the barrel arrangement. The locking clamping effect can be released by pressing down the swivel handle 14 ⁇ . This type of locking makes use of a certain material elasticity which results from the use of plastic for the container and the barrel.
- a comparable clamping lock is used.
- a handle 52 can be pivoted about the axis 53 and is provided with a cylindrical eccentric part 54 which, when the handle 52 is swiveled up into the dashed carrying position, passes through an opening 55 in the wall of the waste container 4 and is thereby stepped on the foot 15 of the waste bin 3 presses.
- the container 4 is weakened less.
- the garbage can 3 and the garbage containers 4 to 7 can also have a cross-section that deviates from the square shape, for example a circular cross-section.
- the filling opening 12 can also be closed by a slide plate which can be moved, for example, in the vertical direction between the open position and the closed position.
- the swivel handles 14 can also be designed so that they do not lead to a clamping lock but to a form-locking locking with the attached barrel or container.
- the garbage containers can be provided in their upper region with ventilation openings, which can optionally also be provided in the front plate 31 of the flap 13.
- the dimensions of the garbage can 3 and the garbage can 4 to 7 can be selected to suit the respective conditions. This is especially true of the heights.
- the latter are expediently chosen so that the barrel arrangement 1 from the garbage can 3 and a garbage container 4 has a height in the range between 90 and 150 cm, so that the filling into the garbage can is easy.
- the bucket 3 and the container 4 or all containers 4 to 7 have approximately the same heights or also different heights, as indicated in FIGS. 1 and 3. According to FIG. 1, the garbage can 3 extends over approximately 1/3 of the total height of the barrel arrangement 1.
- the smallest garbage container 6 from FIG. 3 has approximately 3/4 the height of the largest container 4.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a garbage collection device for the pre-sorted storage of garbage, in particular household garbage, with a garbage can of conventional design and a lid with an additional open garbage container, which is adapted to the cross-sectional dimensions of the garbage can and is provided with two diametrically opposed handles.
Such a garbage collection device is already known (DE-OS 35 24 781).
In the known waste collection device, the additional waste container is an insert pot with an approximately rectangular outline formed, which is suspended in a conventional garbage can of approximately square cross-section. For this purpose, the garbage container has support flanges protruding outwards from the upper edge on its two narrow sides. which are supported on the upper edge of the garbage can when inserted. Accordingly, the garbage container or insert pot is adapted in terms of its longitudinal dimension to the garbage can, while its transverse dimension is undersized compared to the garbage can, so that when the insert pot is suspended, the remaining garbage can space can be accessed and filled to the side of the insert pot without the insert pot having to be removed.
This known garbage collection device therefore assumes that the garbage can volume provided with the garbage can and, for example, emptied weekly by means of municipal garbage vehicles, is sufficient and only has to be divided into separate compartments by use. In accordance with this, according to the aforementioned DE-OS 35 24 781 an alternative solution is also provided, in which a fixed vertical partition is provided in the garbage can instead of the loosely suspended insert pot. In both cases, the use of additional garbage cans for collecting recyclable waste, which is often not possible due to space constraints, is dispensed with, but disadvantages with regard to handling have to be accepted. Emptying is particularly difficult here. The insert pot, possibly filled with garbage, must be raised with its entire height beyond the upper garbage can edge, which is already high, so that either the garbage can itself or the garbage can can be emptied. In this context, it must be taken into account that, in the context of an economical implementation of the separation waste disposal, the collection or collection of the various valuable materials is not carried out simultaneously and every week, for example Garbage disposal can be carried out but that the different types of garbage such as metals, plastics, glass, paper have to be collected alternately or at greater intervals. Therefore, individual households must also take appropriate precautions. In the case of the garbage can with a vertical partition, these consist in that before each garbage can emptying that garbage chamber is shut off at its upper end by means of an additional closure provided, the content of which is only collected later. It is therefore to be feared that all of this will result in inattentiveness or convenience not being carried out in the required manner and in the lack of the participation of the majority of all households necessary for the success of the waste disposal process.
It is also known to provide a kit of stackable containers for collecting waste, which have a filling opening on a side wall which can be closed by a flap, the bottom container being able to be provided with rollers and the top container having a lid (DE-GM 85 25 351). In this case, the containers on the bottom side have a recess that springs back relative to the outer wall of the container, with which they can be adjusted into the upper opening of another waste container. Thus, by stacking the containers in a tower-like manner on a comparatively small footprint, the waste can also be collected separately according to different types of waste. Throwing in the garbage through the filling opening provided in a narrow end face of the rectangular flat garbage containers is practicable for waste made of solid materials such as metals, plastics and paper, but is less suitable for the compostable residual waste. This can best be filled in from above, as in the conventional garbage can, through an opening of dimensions corresponding to the container cross section.
In this regard, the well-known container tower is too far away from the previous garbage can and its handling. This also applies to the provision of the garbage for, for example, weekly collection or collection by municipal garbage trucks. The provision of the entire tower and the simultaneous collection of all types of garbage is comparatively complex since a uniform filling of the garbage containers of the same size with the various types of garbage cannot be expected.
Accordingly, the invention has for its object to provide a garbage collection device for the pre-sorted storage and provision of garbage, which is space-saving, allows easy filling of all the resulting garbage, allows easy handling when ready for collection and at the same time allows a rational collection of the garbage.
This object is achieved in that two or more similar waste containers are provided, each having an upper edge with a substantially horizontal support surface and a substantially vertical alignment surface, the lower end of the garbage can and the corresponding dimensions of the lower end of the waste container are adapted so that the garbage can on the individual garbage bins to form a barrel arrangement and the garbage bins are stacked on top of one another to form a sorting tower in a stable arrangement, and that the garbage bins have a closable side filling opening.
In the garbage collection device according to the invention, the garbage bin provided has a shortened height in comparison to the previously customary height. It is designed to hold compostable waste such as organic waste.
The remaining household waste such as glass, metals, plastics and special waste is collected separately in the various waste bins, which can be stacked on top of one another in a sorting tower to save space. These waste containers are expediently designed in different colors or with clear markings in order to avoid confusion when filling. These refuse containers can have different heights and thus volumes, which means that the different amounts of different types of refuse can be handled.
It is envisaged that the garbage can or compost bin will be emptied by the garbage disposal at regular intervals, for example weekly, as in the previous household waste disposal. At the same time, another type of garbage can be picked up alternately. Accordingly, the compost bin is placed on the waste container in question and the barrel arrangement thus formed is made available at the collection point. The garbage containers are dimensioned so that emptying is required less frequently than with the compost bin. Accordingly, the entire sorting tower need not be provided for the garbage disposal, rather the garbage can is alternately coupled and provided with one or the other garbage container (sorting container). The selection of the sorting bins to be made available depends on the type of waste that is also picked up during the respective garbage collection and, if necessary, also on the degree of filling of the sorting bins. Of course, two or more sorting containers can be made available for collection regardless of the compost bin. In any case, the provision and collection of the garbage is particularly simple, without having to do without a complete separation of the garbage during collection and removal. In addition, no difficult tasks such as lifting bins or containers over their entire height can be performed during the provision.
The system equipped with the waste collection device according to the invention is associated with relatively low acquisition costs. The work involved in sorting the waste generated is low and is easily reasonable for the households. By providing a corresponding waste collection device, each individual is brought up to behave in an environmentally conscious manner, especially if only properly sorted waste is picked up. A re-sorting is then almost unnecessary. The organic waste can be processed into compost, while the valuable materials are returned to the economic cycle. Flammable and environmentally friendly material that the market does not accept can be burned in waste incineration plants and used for energy generation.
Appropriate refinements and developments result from the subclaims. The flap closure provided for the filling opening of the waste containers is easy to install and facilitates the filling of the waste and the handling of the collecting device. The swivel handle lock for the fixed connection of the bin or the container within the barrel arrangement or the sorting tower also leads to an improvement in the handling options, in particular in the provision or transport between the stand location and the pick-up location. This transport can be made easier in a known manner by the movability of the measures.

The sorting
As can be seen from Fig. 1, the
The
22. In Figures 4 and 5, the garbage can 3ʹ and the garbage container 4ʹ are separated and shown with details. Both are provided at their lower ends in the same way with a retracted
In Fig. 4 it is also indicated that a differently designed hinged lid 8ʹ can be provided, which lies on a circumferential
The
As already said, the
In Figures 7 and 8, a swivel handle 14ʹ for the
If the swivel handle 14ʹ hangs down, as indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 7, the
With the swivel handle 14ʺ according to FIG. 9, a comparable clamping lock is used. There, a
Numerous changes can be made to the previously described embodiments. For example, the
The dimensions of the
