Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for covering a tree disc surrounding a tree near its roots with at least one area capable of withstanding pressure.
Such devices in the area of paved areas serve to cover the root area (the soil) surrounding a tree, to protect it from compaction and to make it accessible. The device must also be permeable so that rainwater and air can penetrate into the ground. Iron grates of various types, perforated concrete disks or paving with permeable joints are usually used for this. Such devices are placed on the soil above the tree roots. Since the soil in this area must be loose, this means that the device will sag over time and when walking and driving on. This makes the surface look unattractive. Furthermore, there is a not inconsiderable risk to traffic. In addition, the soil of the root area is compacted, which is undesirable. In order to remedy these problems, concrete foundations are laid, which, however, restrict the root area considerably, so that the tree cannot develop optimally. In particular, where the tree slice is to be paved, and point foundations are not to be used, there is currently no way to dig the soil in the To effectively protect the root area of a tree from compaction.
The object of the present invention is therefore to develop a device of the type mentioned at the outset which both effectively prevents soil compaction in the root region of a tree and which also permits different surface designs, in particular paving.
This object is achieved in that at least two frame segments which are adapted to one another and which are adjacent to one another in horizontal directions are provided, which enclose a free space which accommodates the tree and which each have a substantially horizontally running receptacle which accommodates the pressure-resistant area and which are provided with foot parts that run in the direction of the earth supporting them.
This device has the advantage that pressure loads which are exerted on the pressure-resistant area are diverted via the foot parts into the soil which is located below and outside the actual root area. This makes it possible to design the surface of the device according to the aesthetic requirements. For example, the area under pressure consist of a normal small patch. Furthermore, a grating or a grating can be applied there. The root area of the tree is permanently protected against compaction and this makes it possible for the tree to develop optimally. Even if the device is loaded, for example, by a parking vehicle, the loads occurring are reliably derived outside and below the root area into the soil surrounding the tree.
According to a further preferred embodiment of the invention, a plurality of similar frame segments are provided, the receptacles of which are essentially trapezoidal. This enables simple assembly of the device and also facilitates the insertion of the tree to be planted. Furthermore, the device can also be used later on already existing and firmly rooted trees.

The device consists of a large number of essentially identical prefabricated components which can each be assembled into a device in a modular construction.
The device is used as follows:
The frame segments (1) are initially used semicircularly around a tree pit and connected to one another. The receptacles (4) are arranged at a height below an intended plaster (38). After the tree (2) is inserted into the tree pit, further frame segments (1) are installed until the tree (2) is completely enclosed. The tree (2) or the area of its roots (3) can be filled with soil through the receptacles (4) until the tree is completely planted.
Then the grids (35) are inserted into the receptacles (4) and the respectively adapted geotextile (37) is placed on them. After the sand bed (39) provided for the plaster (38) has been applied to the geotextile (37), the paving stones (40) can reach as far as the Stop bar (41) can be applied to the device. When the plaster (40) is entered or driven on in the pressure-resistant area (5), the pressure is absorbed by the grille (35) and discharged via the receptacles (4) into the foot parts (8), so that it does not compress the Soil (6) in the area of the roots (3) of the tree (2) can come. Even after long-term use of the device, the area of the roots (3) of the tree (2) remains undensified and the tree (2) can develop properly and optimally.
To prevent a gravel layer (45) provided below the pavement (40) from laterally penetrating towards the roots (3), the support grid (32) is provided, which reliably protects the area of the roots (3) against the gravel layer ( 45) shields.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the carrying element (34) can consist of a tree grate (46) which can be made of cast iron. It is also possible to design the support element (34) as a grating.
In this embodiment of the invention it is possible to arrange the support element (34) at the same height as the surface surrounding the tree (2) and directly as form pressure-resistant area (5) that can be entered and driven on. For this it is only necessary to arrange the frame segments (1) at a height so that the receptacles (4) lie with their upper edges essentially in the plane of the surrounding area. In this case, the stop strips (41) can be dispensed with and the web (42) can be arranged directly on the upper edge of the support strip (10). A tree guard (44) can also be attached to the web (42).
According to the invention, the application variants of the device according to FIGS. 1 and 2 can be combined in such a way that a larger tree pane area is protected from compaction by walking and driving on. This may be necessary for large trees with a widely branched root system.
As shown in Figure 4, the foot struts (23, 24) of the pressure-resistant area (5), which is closer to the tree (2) and covered by a tree grate (46), are longer than the foot struts (23, 24) of the outer pressure-loaded area (5) so that a common standing level for a continuous footplate (30) is reached.
