Definitions
- the present invention relates to a static frequency converter for supplying an asynchronous type motor, comprising a rectifier bridge capable of being connected to a polyphase network, an intermediate DC voltage circuit and an inverter provided with six static switches mounted in Graetz bridge, controlled by a pulse modulation device and capable of being linked to the motor phase impedances.
- Asynchronous motors supplied from three-phase networks via frequency converters generally exhibit operational instability when they are lightly loaded. There is indeed the appearance of an oscillation of the rotor of the motor due to an energy exchange between the motor and the intermediate DC voltage circuit in a frequency range of about 20 to 100% of the nominal frequency.
- the invention more particularly aims to suppress the low frequency oscillation of the rotor of a weakly charged asynchronous motor by decreasing when such an oscillation occurs the supply voltage U of the motor in order to momentarily reduce the U / F ratio. It further aims to stabilize the motor drive using a simple device, while ensuring a good compromise between the quality of drive and the desired stability.
- Another purpose is to combine the desired stabilization at low load with a limitation of the motor currents during sudden load variations.
- the invention provides for this purpose a frequency converter comprising in a manner analogous to that described in the aforementioned US Pat. No. 4,420,718: a rectifier bridge capable of being connected on the input side to a polyphase network and on the output side to an intermediate DC voltage circuit; an inverter capable of being connected on the input side to the intermediate circuit and on the output side to the phase impedances of an asynchronous motor; the inverter comprising three pairs of static switches at the terminals of which the DC voltage is applied, each pair comprising two series switches, one of which is said to be high and the other said to be low and which are each provided with a recovery diode in parallel, the midpoint of each pair being connected to a phase impedance of the motor; a switch control device being connected to these to apply modulated pulses to them in order to ensure their closing and opening; a member for reading the current associated with the intermediate DC voltage circuit, and delivering an image signal of the current in the intermediate circuit; processing means connected to the reading member and arranged to detect signal parameters; and
- this converter is characterized in that the above processing means deliver an inverse current excess signal ST and include a processing circuit connected to the current reading member and producing a filtered peak signal I d representative of the peak value of the reverse current and a comparator comparing this signal I d with an adjustable reference value I REF to generate when I d > I REF the signal ST of excess reverse current, and in that the modification means inverter output voltages causes an alternating blocking of the high track switch group and / or of the low track switch group of the inverter, when transmitting the signal ST of reverse current excess.
- the means for reducing the output voltages of the inverter can cooperate with the control device of the static switches of the inverter to alternately block the group of high channel switches and / or the group of low channel switches synchronously with the modulation exerted on each group of switches. This results in a good symmetrization of the motor currents.
- the processing means deliver a reverse current excess signal ST and include a processing circuit connected to the current reading member and producing a filtered peak signal I d representative of the peak value of the reverse current and a comparator comparing this signal with an adjustable reference value I REF to generate as I d > I REF the signal ST of excess reverse current applicable by means of reduction of the output voltages.
- the realization of the stabilization device is therefore very simple. It also facilitates the addition of simple means allowing an inhibition of the ST signal during the operation of the generator engine and, if necessary, a blocking of the high or low track switches or alternatively of high track and low track, when '' a strong load surge is detected in generator mode.
- the processing means comprise a member establishing the mean value of the image signal of the current in the intermediate circuit, as well as an analog-to-digital converter receiving the mean value signal and delivering a digital signal;
- the voltage reduction means comprises a processor provided with means for sampling the digital signal and means for evaluating the amplitude and / or the frequency of oscillation of the signal;
- the control device comprises modulation control means for modulating the conduction of the switches, the oscillation evaluation means acting on the modulation control means to correct said modulation as a function of the oscillation of the average current in the circuit intermediate.
- the voltage reduction means and the control device can advantageously be implemented in a suitably programmed microprocessor.
- the static frequency converter 10 illustrated in FIG. 1 is connected to a three-phase alternating voltage network or possibly single-phase.
- the converter is of the voltage wave type and comprises a three-phase rectifier bridge 11, an intermediate DC voltage circuit 12 and an inverter 13.
- the rectifier bridge 11 has six diodes connected to the phases of the network so as to output a DC voltage. to the intermediate circuit 12.
- the latter comprises two conductors 14, 15 respectively of high channel and low channel between which is disposed a filtering capacitor 16. The polarity across the capacitor 16 remains constant.
- the inverter 13 is connected, on the input side, to the conductors 14, 15 and, on the output side, to the phase conductors U, V, W of an asynchronous motor M.
- the motor could also be a synchronized asynchronous motor.
- the inverter comprises six controlled static switches, mounted in Graetz bridge and constituted in the present embodiment by three pairs of bipolar transistors T1-T6 in parallel to which are arranged respective recovery diodes D1-D6.
- Each pair of transistors comprises two cascaded transistors T1, T2; T3, T4; T5, T6 of which one T1, T3, T5 is said to be high channel and the other T2, T4, T6 is said to be low channel.
- the midpoint of each pair is connected to a respective stator impedance ZU, ZV, ZW of the motor (see Figure 4).
- the controlled switches of the inverter can be blockable thyristors (GTO) or non-blockable thyristors (SCR) with optionally assisted switching or isolated gate transistors, or MOS-bipolar components.
- the bases of the high channel transistors T1, T3, T5 are controlled via respective conductors 20H by the outputs S1, S3, S5 of a control device 20.
- the bases of the low channel transistors T2, T4, T6 are controlled via conductors 20B by the outputs S2, S4, S6 of the device 20.
- This device is, for example, a microprocessor, arranged to generate on its outputs the width pulses. modulated (PWM) necessary to request the bases of the transistors as a function of the information supplied to the inputs of the microprocessor by regulation or control loops not shown.
- This member delivers a signal I image of the current and it is connected to processing means 22 which in the example of FIG. 2 elaborate a filtered peak signal I of image of the reverse current and which generate a stabilization control signal ST representative of an excessive reverse current.
- the member 21 picks up the current from the conductor 15, but it could of course be associated with the conductor 14.
- the current reading member 21 is currently constituted by a resistor, but can be any suitable intensity sensor.
- the processing means 22 are connected to a means 25 for reducing the output voltages of the inverter.
- the processing means 22 comprise a processing circuit 23 which outputs the image signal I of the reverse current and a comparator 24.
- the processing circuit 23 extracts the I signal delivered by the member 21 the component I d representative of the reverse current i d generated via the inverter, in particular during motor oscillations. This reverse current can also be called “diode” current since it crosses the recovery diodes of the inverter.
- the comparator 24 compares the image signal I of the reverse current with a reference value I REF to produce the ST stabilization control signal when I d> I REF.
- the reference value I REF is preferably adjustable to allow in particular to adapt the stabilization to the motor supplied by the frequency converter and / or to the driven load.
- the stabilization control signal ST obtained at the output of comparator 24 is applied by means 25 of reducing the output voltages of the inverter.
- This reduction means is currently constituted by a logic circuit or static switches blocking during the change of state of the output ST of the comparator the pulses normally delivered by the outputs S1, S3, S5 of the microprocessor associated with the high channels of the inverter .
- the logic circuit 25 could of course alternatively block the outputs S2, S4, S6 corresponding to the low channels of the inverter.
- the static switches of the inverter are lockable thyristors (GTO)
- the logic circuit 25 can also control the forcing of the GTO extinction conductors.
- the signals I, I d and ST are illustrated in FIGS. 2A, 2B, 2C, while the shape of the chopped voltage Vs appearing at the output of the inverter on one phase is shown in FIG. 3; the flow of the circulation current when blocking the highways is illustrated in Figure 4.
- the voltage Vs is made up of alternately positive and negative groups of pulses P of variable width (FIG. 3). Each pulse corresponds to the simultaneous on state, under the effect of the corresponding signals on the conductors 20H, 20B, of a high channel transistor and a low channel transistor. The pulses P are separated by slots C of variable width.
- the current in the intermediate circuit takes the shape illustrated in FIG. 2A.
- the positive part of signal I is an image signal of the motor current or current in the transistors, the negative part of signal I being the image signal of reverse current or "diode" current.
- the processing circuit 23 extracts from I the filtered peak signal I d which is compared with I REF (FIG. 2B) in the comparator 24, the latter delivering at its output the signal ST (FIG. 2C).
- the means 25 which receives on the one hand the signal ST and, on the other hand, the signals S1, S3, S5 ensures a succession of brief blockings of all of the high track transistors of the inverter; this results in an additional cutting of the voltage Vs by slots C ′ practiced in the pulses P.
- the signal delivered by the current reading device 21 is amplified by an amplifier 26 and then processed in three control channels 27, 28, 29.
- the control channel 27 comprises an amplifier-comparator 30 which receives on an inverting input the signal I, to highlight the negative component of the signal I, as well as the filtering and the peak detection of this component in order to develop the signal I d image of the reverse current envelope.
- the comparator 30 compares the signal I d with an adjustable reference signal I REF obtained from a fixed voltage V REF by means of an adjustment potentiometer 31 and it generates an output signal ST when I d > I REF .
- the control channel 28 comprises an amplifier-comparator 32 which filters and detects the peak image signal of the transistor current I t and compares it with a fixed threshold as a function of a voltage V REF .
- the signal ST ′ resulting from the threshold being exceeded by the signal I t is applied to an input of an OR gate 33 whose other input receives the signal ST.
- the output signal from the OR gate 33 passes through a time delay element 34 to be applied for a period determined by this element to the first AND gate inputs 35, 36, 37 constituting the blocking member ensuring the desired voltage reduction.
- Second inputs of AND gates 35, 36, 37 respectively receive the signals S1, S3, S5.
- the delay element is an RC circuit with fast charge and slow discharge, but it can also be constituted by a monostable rocker; it avoids imposing too high a switching frequency on the transistors.
- the control channel 29 has a member 38, for example an integrator or similar member, establishing the average value I d of the image signal of the reverse current I d and emitting, when this average value becomes greater than a threshold, a signal G of inhibition of the signal ST.
- the signal G is for example transmitted to the amplifier-comparator 30. In this way, when the motor operates as a generator, the signal G inhibits the appearance of the signal ST and thus prevents the blocking of the transistors T1, T3, T5 of the channels high.
- the comparators described can be threshold operators.
- the frequency converter described operates as follows: in the event of normal operation of the motor, current flows in line 15 of the intermediate circuit 12 as indicated by the arrow i t in FIG. 1. The control circuit remains inactive .
- the processing circuit 23 therefore enhances the signal I d and the comparator 24 - or the amplifier 30 which combines the functions of 23 and 24 - generates a succession of pulses constituting the signal ST. These pulses block the doors 35- 37 and this results in the additional cutting C ′ of the modulated width pulses P delivered by the control device 20 until the instability noted has disappeared.
- the signal I d of mean value of the current i d reaches a value sufficient for the signal G to change state and lock the comparator 30, so that the reverse current can flow normally towards the three-phase network.
- channel 28 When a large load variation is detected by channel 28, the signal ST ′ changes state and the high channels of the inverter are blocked as in the previously exposed case of too low a load.
- the control device 20 produces an alternating modulation of the conduction of the switches of the first group T1, T3, T5, then of the second group T2, T4, T6, then again of the first group T1, T3, T5, etc., the groups of conductors 20H, 20B thus being activated alternately.
- the means 25 for reducing the output voltages will deliver the voltage reduction slots C ′ also alternately to the groups of modulating switches, that is to say synchronously to the modulation carried by the groups. of conductors 20H, then 20B, etc ... In this way, the motor currents are balanced and the unwanted effects of the parasitic diode currents are reduced.
- the means 25 for reducing the output voltages and possibly a part of the processing means 22 are implemented in the same control logic, for example in the same microprocessor.
- the processing means 22 comprise a member 40 establishing the average value I m of the signal I image of the current in the intermediate circuit, as well as an analog-digital converter 41 receiving the signal mean value I m and delivering a digital signal I min .
- the voltage reduction means 25 comprises a processor provided with means for sampling the digital signal I min and means for evaluating the amplitude and / or the oscillation frequency of the signal I min .
- the control device 20 is a microprocessor which comprises the means 25 for reducing the voltage.
- the microprocessor 20 has modulation control means for modulating the conduction of the switches T1-T6; the oscillation evaluation means interact on the modulation control means to correct the modulation as a function of the evaluated value of the oscillation of the average current in the intermediate circuit.
- the means included in the microprocessor 20 are in hardware and software form.
