Definitions

  • the present invention relates to oil platforms and relates more particularly to self-elevating platforms for drilling and exploitation at sea.
  • Self-elevating platforms generally comprise a hull mounted to move on legs which bear on the seabed, said hull in particular supporting a drilling floor and a drilling tower hereinafter called a derrick.
  • platforms are known whose hull has a lateral notch making it possible to carry out drilling work and operating operations by placing the drilling and / or operating equipment at- above the notch.
  • the platform of the latter type has the advantage of allowing all of the connection equipment between the underwater base of the wells above which it is placed on the one hand and the hull on the other hand to be find in the space defined by the legs of the platform and thus be relatively well protected against bad weather and floating bodies.
  • an oil platform comprising a hull supported by load-bearing legs disposed at the periphery of the hull and a leg defining a space in which connection equipment is arranged between the bottom and the shell, said leg defining the space in which the connecting equipment is arranged being a supporting leg.
  • a drilling floor is disposed on the hull, movable above the cross section of the leg defining the space for receiving said connecting equipment.
  • the leg defining the space for receiving the equipment is a central leg.
  • the platform cannot have less than four legs, which increases the cost of its manufacture.
  • a platform of the aforementioned type which comprises at least four legs is supported on the seabed in at least four corresponding zones which do not necessarily all have the same consistency. There are therefore risks that, for example, one of the peripheral legs of the platform tends to sink while the other legs meet a ground allowing them to have a firm support. This results in a certain instability of the platform.
  • the invention aims to create an oil platform which has good stability, which is of a relatively reduced cost price and whose connecting equipment between the bottom and the hull are protected with even greater efficiency.
  • the invention also aims to create a permanent platform which can allow reassemble the well heads at the surface without tensile forces at the level of the platform.
  • an oil platform comprising a hull supported by load-bearing legs bearing on the seabed and arranged at the periphery of the hull and a leg defining a space in which the connection equipment between the bottom and the hull, characterized in that the hull of the platform is of generally triangular shape and mounted displaceable on only three carrying legs, the leg defining the space for receiving said connecting equipment being one of said carrying legs, and in that a drilling floor is disposed on the movable shell above the cross section of the leg defining the space for receiving said connecting equipment.
  • - Fig.1 is a schematic elevational view of a self-elevating platform according to the invention.
  • - Fig.2 is a top view of the platform of Fig.1.
  • the platform shown in Fig.1 is a self-elevating platform comprising a shell 1 movable mounted on legs 2,3, formed of tubular uprights 4 joined together by lattices of metal beams 5.
  • the means of displacement of the shell on its legs are constituted by pinions driven by geared motors mounted on the hull, the pinions cooperating with racks carried by the legs (not shown).
  • the legs 2, 3 bear on the bottom by means of respective risers 6,7 of structure similar to that of the legs and immobilized with respect to the bottom by piles 8 stuck in the ground of the seabed.
  • the risers 6,7 are advantageously of the type described in patent application FR-A-2592075 in the name of the Applicant.
  • the platform according to the invention is a platform whose shell 1 is of generally triangular shape.
  • the shell 1 is mounted displaceable on three legs, two legs 2 of which are of triangular section and the third leg 3 of which is of larger square section than that of the legs 2.
  • the leg 3 can also be of triangular section.
  • On the hull 1 and above the upper end of the leg 3 of square section is mounted a drilling floor 9 movable on lateral rails 10 carried by pillars 11 fixed to the hull 1.
  • the drilling floor 9 is also movable on a track 12, perpendicular to the rails 11 which allows the center of the drilling floor to occupy any of the positions indicated by the points 13 above the cross section of the leg 3 of square section.
  • Drill floor 9 is associated with a movable derrick 14 with said floor.
  • connection materials are arranged between the seabed and the hull.
  • conduits 16 which connect the drilling floor 9 to the seabed and which extend into the space provided inside the strut 3 up to the extension 7 then into the space provided to the inside of it.
  • the drilling floor 9 and the derrick 14 can occupy a position clearing the cross section of the leg 3 to allow movement of the shell 1 on the legs 2,3.
  • connection materials between the bottom and the shell of the platform are protected on all sides by the walls formed by the uprights 4 and the lattices of metal beams 5, against any impact from floating bodies.
  • the cross section of the leg 4 of larger section advantageously corresponds to the dimensions of the underwater base or "template" of a well or a set of wells, the points 15 representing the positions which the center of the floor can occupy. drilling of leg 4, plumb with corresponding valves not shown of the underwater base.
  • the extension 7 which supports the leg 4 containing the connecting conduits 16 in fact constitutes the underwater base or template.
  • Such an arrangement also has the advantage to allow to ensure in complete safety the operations of "completion" which are the operations of equipment of the underground part of the well after the drilling operations.
  • conduits 16 for connection between the bottom and the surface are protected by the walls of the leg 4 makes it possible to eliminate the mechanical tensioning or "tensioning" of the conduits, an operation which is generally essential in the platforms of conventional operations.
  • the oil platform comprises a square section leg through which pass connecting equipment between the bottom and the hull.
