Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a protective suit against sound waves.
Sound waves acting on the periphery of a person's body are also transmitted to the inside of the body, particularly at noise levels above the noise pain limit. The circulation and the internal organs can be so burdened by sound that triggers circulatory disorders, nausea and other vegetative reactions. To protect against sound transmission over the periphery of the body, there are already soundproof suits (overalls) made of thickened material, such as. B. leather or textile. The material thickness of the protective suits is approx. 1 to 2 mm. There are also soundproof vests that only cover the torso, or body bandages that act as kidney protection. Some protective suits have double material thicknesses in the kidney area.
As is well known, sound insulation strongly depends on the basis weight of the protective material. The basis weight of the known protective materials is approximately 1.5 kg / m. The work clothing underneath, whose thickness generally does not exceed 3 to 5 mm, also acts as an air cushion.
High noise levels up to 130 dB (A) occur e.g. B. in production halls with high-speed impact presses or for repairs and test runs of jet trenchers. The spectral distribution of the broadband noise occurring extends over the entire listening area. The insulation effect of the Known protective suits or protective parts are only used above 1000 Hz, so that all underlying sound frequencies are transmitted to the periphery of the body. Therefore, they do not offer sufficient protection against sound waves.
The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a protective suit in which the transmission of sound to the periphery of the body and into the inside of the body is reduced to a minimum while the overall weight and thickness of the suit are still acceptable.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that at least two flexible soundproofing layers are provided, one of which has a weighting layer and the other of which has a cushioning layer. Through these protective layers it is achieved that the protective effect of the suit according to the invention already starts at substantially lower frequencies than 1000 Hz, as a result of which the sound pressure level penetrated into the body is significantly reduced, especially in the medium and high frequency range which is important from a medical point of view.
- Fig. 1 shows a cross section of an embodiment of the protective suit provided with protective layers according to the invention and
- Fig. 2 is a graphical representation of the insulation course of a protective suit according to the invention compared to a conventional embodiment.
- Fig. 1 shows the cross section of the structure of a protective suit with flexible protective layers. On the inside 1 of the
base material 2, which can consist, for example, of leather or a heavy textile fabric, aweighting layer 3 and anadjoining cushion layer 4 are arranged. The sound waves to be insulated hit theoutside 5 of thebase material 2.
In the exemplary embodiment, the
The
In the investigations to improve the insulation effect in protective suits, it was found that it depends both on the basis weight of the suit material and on the thickness of the so-called air cushion. An increase in the weight per unit area, which of course is limited due to the total weight of the protective suit, or an increase in the thickness of a cushion layer leads to an earlier protective effect with regard to the frequencies contained in the noise spectrum.
Die Dämmwirkung beginnt hierbei schon nach 160 Hz und verbessert sich bei höheren Frequenzen um bis zu 25 dB.2 shows the insulation effect of the soundproofing suit according to the invention in comparison to a commercially available protective suit. Curve A relates to a leather overall without additional protective layers. An insulation effect only starts here at a frequency of 1000 Hz. Curve B shows the insulation behavior of a protective suit according to the invention with two soundproofing layers, specifically with a
With the protective suit according to the invention, a significantly better insulation effect of sound waves on the human body periphery is achieved and a higher protective effect is achieved in occupational medicine terms. In the production of protective suits according to the invention, which still give an acceptable overall weight with the given sizes of the protective layers and allow sufficient mobility, care should be taken that the openings for the legs and especially for the arms are well closed by a collar.
