Abstract

The sewing thread comprises a core yarn which consists of continuous, largely fully drawn and fully set synthetic core filaments with a sheathing of fibres or filamentary elements of any desired origin. The core yarn has been folded together with at least one further yarn and then further processed, for example dyed, oiled or waxed. In a particularly easily and inexpensively produced sewing thread, the at least one yarn folded together with the core yarn is a textured, in particular air textured, yarn or a spun yarn which consists of any desired material or mixture of materials.

Description

The invention relates to a sewing thread with core thread which is twisted from endless, largely stretched and low-shrinkage synthetic core threads with a sheath of fibers or thread parts of any origin and with at least one further thread and then further processed, e.g. colored, oiled or waxed.

Such core yarns commonly used for sewing thread production consist of two components, namely an inner, usually endless, largely stretched synthetic thread (core thread), which is preferably spun with staple material made of torn or cut fibers or thread parts so that the core thread is completely covered. The wrapping material can be made in a known manner of vegetable, animal, synthetic or mineral origin as well as from mixtures of these components.

It is already known (DE-PS 2 436 997) to form a sewing thread of the type mentioned only two, three or more core threads of the above-mentioned structure. To achieve a largely curl-free sewing thread, it is ensured that the twist twists oppose those of the spinning stretch. These sewing threads, which are made exclusively from core threads, have high strength due to the so-called core threads. At the same time, the fibers or thread parts of the covering of these core yarns provide a hairy surface, which causes the sewing needle to be air-cooled during the sewing process; This is a fact that is of great importance for fast and very fast sewing processes.

These advantages have led to a versatile and large quantity of such sewing threads made of core yarns. However, spinning these core threads suitable for the production of the known sewing threads from core threads is relatively difficult; it requires impeccable and precise spinning devices and in particular well-trained and conscientiously working personnel. For these reasons, the production of such core yarns is relatively complex; as a rule, it is associated with higher production costs than simple spun yarns of the same type of material.

The invention has for its object to develop a sewing thread of the type mentioned so that it has a comparatively easier to implement.

The sewing thread according to the invention, in which this object is achieved, is essentially characterized in that the at least one yarn twisted with the Coregam is a textured, in particular air-textured yarn or a spinning yarn which consists of any material or material mixtures. It has been shown that such a sewing thread, which is not made exclusively from core threads, but contains at least one spinning thread or a textured thread, due to the core thread interwoven with, i.e. due to the endless synthetic soul thread despite the lower cost, it has enough strength, while the added normal spinning yarn or the textured yarn together with the Coregam wrapping material forms the desired, slightly rough thread surface. Surprisingly, it has been shown that the core material of the core yarn is mutually supported with the added spinning yarn or textured yarn; this reliably prevents a shifting of the core covering of the core yarn. However, these various advantages of the combined sewing thread according to the invention cannot be achieved if — as has already been proposed — several yarns or threads, which have only different designs, are connected to form a sewing thread without adding one or more core threads.

The blending of staple fibers of natural origin has been going on for centuries and the blending of staple fibers of different origins, i.e. Natural fibers with artificial fibers to achieve special effects or favorable mechanical-technological properties at low costs have been known for decades, as is the case with e.g. from which a special multicomponent yarn DE-AS 25 07 054 results. On the other hand, it appears from the magazine "Chemiefaser 21, December 1971, pages 1037 to 1042, that the person skilled in the art is used to producing filament blended yarns from man-made fibers which are constructed like normal multifilament yarns, but are mixed as randomly as possible and distributed over the yarn cross-section. These consist of at least two different types of filament, but the particularly advantageous possibilities were not recognized and used to create and use the sewing thread with the very favorable properties with the features of the patent claim and to benefit from its favorable properties.

In view of the large amount of sewing threads that are required in practice, the advantage of the sewing thread according to the invention, which is associated with significantly lower production costs, has proven to be particularly serious. For example, Instead of the previously known and usual combination of two, three or more core threads for the production of the sewing thread according to the invention, the generally more expensive core threads are only required proportionately.

Another advantage of the new sewing thread according to the invention is the simple possibility of combining the different thread components; This means, for example, that one, two or more core yarns can be made from different materials, including mixtures of different materials. The further processing of such sewing threads composed according to the invention is carried out in a manner known per se, ie following the twisting or another connecting measure, for example blowing or gluing, the sewing thread thus produced is ge dyes, waxed, oiled, etc. before being wound up into sales spools.

The invention is therefore not limited to the three examples listed below:
  • 1. A core yarn with a largely stretched and low-shrinking soul thread made of endless polyester material and a full covering of fibers of the same material is twisted together with a simple textured, for example air-textured polyester yarn, the twist twist of the spinning twist in the direction of rotation. The connection of the two thread components can be created by blowing or by gluing, welding or pressing instead of twisting.
  • 2. Two core yarns, which in turn are each made from a low-shrink soul thread made of endless polyester material with a fully covering of cotton fibers, are twisted with a cotton spun yarn before they are further processed.
  • 3. Instead of the textured polyester yarn mentioned there, a core yarn of the embodiment explained in Example 1 is twisted together with a simple polyester cut staple yarn, with otherwise the same processing.
