Abstract

Ceiling-mounted light fixture or suspension light fixture for elongated discharge lamps (11) with a housing which has a profiled member (15) of C-shaped cross-section as outer housing part and two terminal caps (16) on the end faces, there being inserted into the profiled member an insert (1) which carries all the electrical built-in components (12, 13, 14) including lamp holders (10) and lamps and is assembled like a frame from two installation rails (2) extending in the longitudinal direction of the light fixture and two stirrup-like head pieces (3) extending transversely thereto and carrying the lamp holders (10), the length of the profiled member corresponding to the length of the installation rails and the head pieces, which project beyond the profiled member, being provided on the ceiling side with plate-shaped attachments (4) which lie in a longitudinal plane of the light fixture and have openings (5) for mounting means (7, 8) and power supply leads (9) etc. <IMAGE>
