Abstract
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft Deckel von Büchern oder Aktenordnern aus mindestens zweischichtiger zusammengeklebter PappeThe invention relates to covers of books or file folders made of at least two-layer cardboard glued together
Lids for books or file folders are made from bookbinding cardboard or folder cardboard, and only from solid cardboard glued together.
There are high demands on the flatness. The bookbinding cardboard must be smooth on both sides so that it can be processed properly.
The following material thicknesses are usually required:
2.4 mm, 2.5 mm and 2.6 mm for folder cardboard and 1 to 4 mm for bookbinder cardboard.
The disadvantage of the solid cardboard used so far is mainly their high bulk density of 0.6 to 0.7 g / cm³, which means that 1 m² of such solid cardboard with a thickness of 2.5 mm has a weight of 1500 to 1750 g / cm².
A possible reduction of the bulk density is only possible if the bending stiffness remains at the high level that is usual today.
The invention has for its object to make the cover of books or files easier, without affecting the strength and performance properties.
This object is achieved in that the cover between two outer cover layers made of solid cardboard has an intermediate layer made of a material with a lower density than the cover layers. In a first preferred embodiment it is provided that the cover consists of corrugated cardboard and has an intermediate corrugation of low corrugation height between two outer layers of solid cardboard.
In a further preferred embodiment, however, it is also possible for the cover to have an intermediate layer of a dimensionally stable plastic between two outer cover layers of solid cardboard arranged at a parallel mutual distance, which preferably consists of foam.
The invention has the surprising advantage that the two outer cover layers, despite a lower basis weight with the same material thickness, achieve an at least as good, if not significantly higher bending stiffness in a simple manner as in the previously used solid cardboard. The two outer cover layers have the function of the upper and lower chords of a flat truss, and the intermediate shaft or the intermediate layer made of a dimensionally stable plastic has the function of diagonal or vertical filling grids or filling rods leads to the fact that such a multi-layer cardboard has a much higher bending stiffness than the previously used solid cardboard despite a lower basis weight.
With the present invention it is possible to reduce the bulk density of the folder and bookbinding cardboard from 0.6 to 0.7 g / cm³ to e.g. 0.35 g / cm³, i.e. 1 m² weighs at a thickness of 2.5 mm e.g. about 870g. The invention thus results in a material saving of up to 50%. In the embodiment made of corrugated cardboard, however, the intermediate shaft must have a very low corrugation height in order not to negatively influence the strength properties of the finished cardboard. In a first embodiment, the intermediate shaft on the cover can run parallel to its setting edge. If, however, under particularly unfavorable circumstances, this leads to an undesirable bulging of the cover or file folder, particularly in the lower, heavily used control area, remedial measures can be taken here in accordance with a further feature of the invention in that the intermediate shaft on the cover runs perpendicular to the lower control edge.
This is achieved in a simple manner that the lid or the file folder can not be bent or bulged outwards even under a heavy load by the documents held between the lids, but can also withstand high vertical loads which are absorbed by the vertical waves of the intermediate shaft and be derived from the base of the lid or file folder.
The most important criterion for folder and bookbinder cardboard is the bending stiffness. To examine them, some hand samples were produced in the manner according to the invention and examined for bending stiffness. The measurement results have shown that the stiffness values of solid cardboard glued together both in the longitudinal and in the transverse direction are easily achieved, with the result that file folders and books equipped with such lids are at least as lightweight as those made of solid cardboard, with at least the same strength , but can also be handled more easily than those made of solid cardboard, especially with large-format printing units. The high dimensional stability achieved by the intermediate layer can also be easily adapted to a wide variety of requirements by suitable arrangement of the intermediate shaft parallel or perpendicular to the lower setting edge of the cover.
