A heat exchanger, more particularly a stream-heated reheater, having a tube bunch for the heat-yielding medium which contains inert gases, the tube bunch extending vertically between a top distributing chamber and a bottom collecting chamber, the tube bunch being flowed through in the same direction, the medium condensing in the tubes and thus heating the medium operative on the outside of the tubes, characterised in that at least those tubes (1a) of the tube bunch (1) which are disposed in the edge zone and which are at risk from backflow pass through the tube plate (3a) of the collecting chamber (3) and extend at their end into a condensate collecting sump (8) which has a condensate overflow (9) disposed above the tube ends.

Description

The invention relates to a heat exchanger, in particular steam-heated reheater, with a tube bundle arranged between a distribution and a collecting chamber for the heat-emitting medium containing inert gases, which condenses in the tubes and thereby heats the medium acting on the tubes from the outside.

Such heat exchangers are known in various designs. Since the medium to be heated, for example the steam to be overheated, acts more on the outer tubes of the tube bundle than the tubes lying in the core of the tube bundle, the condensation effect of the steam in the tube bundle core is less than in the peripheral areas. As a result, residual steam still escapes at the end of the core tubes under certain working conditions. This residual steam has a tendency to flow back into the pipes in the edge region, since these pipes are exposed to a greater temperature difference and thus exert a suction effect on the residual steam emerging from the core pipes.

Such a backflow of residual steam, which emerges from the rear end of the core tubes of the tube bundle, is undesirable because the backflow not only counteracts the direction of flow of the condensate in the outer tubes of the tube bundle and can form condensate plugs, but also retains inert gas contained in the steam, which does not condense is bar and in this way forms inert gas plugs in the tubes of the edge area, which in extreme cases block a large condensation area and lead to an increase in the performance of the heat exchanger which increases over time.

In order to prevent these known disadvantages, installations in the tubes of the heat exchanger have already been proposed, which are intended to bring about an equalization in the distribution of the steam to be condensed by a different throttling effect. In addition to a great technical outlay, these measures have the disadvantage that they are susceptible to faults, can only be optimally designed for a specific load case and, as a result of the unavoidable pressure loss, result in a general drop in performance of the heat exchanger.

The invention has for its object to prevent backflow of the residual steam from the core tubes of the tube bundle with simple technical means and without a deterioration in the overall efficiency in a heat exchanger of the type described.

The solution to this problem by the invention is characterized in that at least the backflow-prone tubes of the tube bundle lying in the edge region are passed through the tube disk of the collecting chamber and protrude with their end into a condensate collecting trough which is provided with a condensate overflow lying above the tube ends .

By extending the tubes of the tube bundle, at least in the edge area at risk of backflow, beyond the tube disk of the collecting chamber and introducing these tube ends into a condensate collecting trough, which due to the condensate overflow lying above the tube ends during operation of the heat exchanger is filled with condensate, a completion of each backflow-prone tube is achieved, so that residual steam escaping from the core tubes does not flow back into the tubes of the edge area and can lead there to the described malfunctions. The means used to prevent this backflow are extremely simple, since it is only necessary to make the tubes of the tube bundle longer in new heat exchangers and to pass them through the tube disk of the collecting chamber or to add pieces of tube to the existing tubes in the case of subsequent conversions that extend into the condensate - Pass down the collecting pan. The condensate collecting trough is a simple component which can be accommodated in the collecting chamber of the tube bundle without difficulty, so that the technical outlay for the proposal according to the invention is also limited.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the condensate collecting trough is annular and its condensate overflow is arranged in the region of the core tubes of the tube bundle. The measures according to the invention are thus restricted in a simple manner to the tubes of the tube bundle which are at risk of backflow.

Finally, in order to avoid the formation of a water curtain when leaving the condensate via the condensate overflow of the collecting trough, which would make it more difficult to remove the inert gases, the invention proposes to jagged the edge of the condensate overflow. This creates strands of condensate that do not hinder reliable suction of the inert gases.

Overall, the development of a known heat exchanger is created with the invention, which is the possibility a backflow of residual steam escaping from the core tubes of the tube bundle into the tubes of the edge region is reliably prevented, so that no inert gases can accumulate in these edge region tubes, which at the same time prevents blocking of condensation surfaces and prevents the heat exchanger from decreasing in performance over time.

In the drawing, an embodiment of the heat exchanger according to the invention is shown in a longitudinal section.

The exemplary embodiment is a standing steam-heated reheater, which comprises a bundle of vertically extending tubes 1 for the heat-emitting medium, namely the steam. At the upper end, these pipes 1 are connected to a distribution chamber 2, at the lower end to a collection chamber 3. " The steam containing inert gases is fed to the distribution chamber 2 through a connection piece 4. The condensate formed in the pipes 1 due to heat emission reaches the collection chamber 3 , from which it is withdrawn through a drain 5.

The tube bundle formed from the tubes 1 is surrounded by a housing jacket 6, to which steam to be heated is fed from below in the exemplary embodiment, as can be seen from the two arrows in the drawing. This steam acts on the pipes 1 from the outside; the heated steam leaves the housing jacket 6 through a steam nozzle 7.

Since the steam to be overheated impacts the outer tubes la of the tube bundle more than the tubes 1b lying in the core of the tube bundle, the condensation effect of the heat-emitting steam supplied through the nozzle 4 in the inner tubes 1b of the tube bundle core is less than in the outer tubes la. Under certain working conditions, residual steam can therefore escape from the lower end of the inner tubes 1b in addition to condensate.

In order to prevent this residual steam escaping from the tubes 1b from flowing back into the outer tubes 1a, in the exemplary embodiment these tubes 1a which are at risk of backflow and which are in the edge region of the tube bundle are passed through the tube disk 3a of the collecting chamber 3. They protrude with their end into a condensate collecting trough 8, which is thus designed in a ring shape in the exemplary embodiment. In this condensate collecting trough 8 such a liquid level is constantly maintained that the individual ends of the pipes 1 a are closed by the condensate present. Residual steam emerging from the ends of the inner tubes 1b cannot therefore enter the lower ends of the outer tubes 1a. The liquid level is maintained in that a condensate overflow 9 is arranged above the ends of the tubes 1a. In the embodiment, the edge of the condensate overflow 9 is jagged. With the help of this condensate overflow 9, the condensate emerging from the outer pipes la and leaving the condensate collecting trough 8 via the condensate overflow 9, together with the condensate emerging from the inner pipes 1b, enters the collecting chamber 3 of the heat exchanger, from which it flows by means of the drain 5 is subtracted.
