Abstract
Description

Dadurch werden die Biegedehnungen der Strangschale im Bereich der Übergangsflächen erheblich vermindert. Die neue Gestaltung ist strömungsgünstiger, so daß eine bessere Verteilung der Stahlschmelze in Richtung der Schmalseitenwände erreicht wird. Schließlich wird ein zu Oberflächenfehlern führendes Abheben der Strangschale von der Kokillenwand im Anschluß an die Biegung und im Übergangsbereich zu den seitlichen parallelen Abschnitten ausgeschlossen. Auf diese Weise wird die Möglichkeit geschaffen, auch schwierig zu vergießende Stahlsorten im dünnen Bandformat zu gießen.This considerably reduces the bending strains of the strand shell in the area of the transition surfaces.
