Description
The invention relates to an automatically hydraulically adjusting valve tappet, which is arranged in a guide bore of a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine and against whose one end face a control cam runs, and which, on the other hand, rests with a second end face against the end of a valve stem, the valve tappet being made from a cup Housing consists, which comprises a hollow cylindrical wall, which is closed at one end by a bottom, against which the control cam runs from the outside, and in which a concentric to the hollow cylindrical wall guide sleeve is arranged, the end facing away from the bottom in the center a disc part opens, which merges with its outer circumference into the hollow cylindrical wall of the housing, and which guide sleeve is at its other end at a distance from the floor, the actual hydraulic play compensation element being longitudinally displaceable in the guide sleeve ch, which is formed by an inner piston and an overlapping outer piston, which are guided in a longitudinally displaceable manner, and which together define an oil pressure chamber which is connected to a central oil reservoir, which is in the inner piston, by a bore in the inner piston which is closed by a check valve arranged and limited on the one hand by the wall of the inner piston and on the other hand by the inner surface of the bottom of the housing, against which the inner piston rests on the end face, while the outer piston is mounted in a longitudinally displaceable manner in the cylindrical guide sleeve and rests with its closed end against the end of the valve stem, whereby through the hollow cylindrical wall, the guide sleeve, the Hydraulic lash adjuster, the bottom and the disc part is an annular oil reservoir, which is supplied with oil through an outwardly leading bore, and wherein there is provided a sleeve extending from the bottom, which is sealed at its bottom end against the annular oil reservoir, which the Grips outside of the guide sleeve and extends into the vicinity of the disk part.
Such a valve lifter has become known. For him, the sleeve extending from the bottom surrounds the guide sleeve with radial play on all sides, so that an oil channel with an annular cross section results between these two components. On the one hand, this embodiment has the advantage that the oil supplied to the central oil storage space is sucked in at a lower point of the outer annular oil storage space, thereby ensuring that air settling out at the upper end of the outer annular oil storage space cannot be sucked into the central oil storage space. However, this known construction also has a disadvantage which lies in the annular configuration of the oil channel between the sleeve extending from the bottom on the one hand and the guide sleeve on the other. Is z. B. installed a valve tappet without oil filling, or it has emptied under unfavorable operating conditions, then it takes a long time until this large-volume oil channel has completely filled up and is only then able to supply the central oil reservoir with oil. During this relatively long period of time, the well-known unpleasant rattling noise occurs, which is perceived as annoying. In addition, such plungers are installed in a predominantly number of applications in a position inclined to the vertical, with the result that oil can only be sucked in from the outer annular oil storage space through the annular oil channel, even if the highest point of the inclined lying lower edge of the sleeve extending from the bottom is covered by the oil present in the outer annular oil reservoir. Should this outer oil reservoir z. B. partially idled during a standstill phase, it may take a considerable time until it is filled again with oil that the annular suction cross section of the oil channel is full again is constantly covered by oil and can therefore supply the central oil storage space with oil after filling up this ring channel (JP patent publication 65508/84).
The invention has for its object to improve this known plunger by a simple structural measure so that it does not lose its advantages, but on the other hand avoids the disadvantages described.
This object is achieved by the fact that a longitudinal channel is formed at a single circumferential point between the sleeve extending from the bottom and the guide sleeve, which allows oil to pass from the annular oil reservoir into an annular space which is delimited on the one hand by the sleeve and on the other hand by the inner piston . The fact that the cross-section of the longitudinal channel has been reduced to a small fraction of the cross-section of the annular oil channel in the known tappet means that on the one hand it is filled up very quickly even when empty. On the other hand, even when the plunger is installed at an angle and taking into account the fact that the plunger rotates around its longitudinal axis during operation, for statistical reasons it is only very rarely in the highest conceivable position in which it has the same disadvantage as in the known plunger design would have. In the vast majority of cases, however, this longitudinal channel will be in a more favorable position during a standstill phase.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are described in the subclaims.
In the drawings, the invention is exemplified by means of longitudinal sections through different plunger designs.
The plunger shown in Fig. 1 consists of the cup-shaped housing 1, which consists of the hollow
In the bore of the
The variant shown in FIG. 2 differs from that of FIG. 1 only in that the
In order to ensure the passage of oil from the
