Außerdem werden alle zwischen einem Schneid- und Gummileistenzylinder geschnittenen Signaturen auf dieselbe Länge geschnitten, was insbesondere bei Sammelproduktion dazu führt, daß die inneren Lagen nach dem Falzen über die äußeren Lagen hinausragen. Ein in den Falzapparat einlaufender Papierstrang weist die gleiche Geschwindigkeit auf wie die Umfangsgeschwindigkeit des Sammelzylinders.
