Description

The invention is directed to an annular muscle relaxation device for the passive extension of the spine in the water. Such a device allows the relaxation of all muscles of the human body by causing the body to float in a volume of water into which it is immersed up to the head so that no muscle needs to be tensed or operated.

Although ring-shaped buoyancy bodies in various shapes are known for sports, games and rescue services, none of them were used in a medical sense. For this purpose, they should not only wear the whole body attacking the head alone, but must also give the user the feeling of absolute security and be so well adapted that he cannot slide his head through the neck opening.

Thereafter, the invention has for its object to provide a muscle relaxation device; which is capable of holding the human body only vertically in the water, attacking the head, the head being held in its natural position and being well adapted to this and the neck area. In addition, the device should be easy to manufacture.

The fact that the device according to the invention allows the user to float in the water only on his head, that no muscle needs to be tensed or operated, does not mean that the user must remain in this state constantly. Rather, it was shown that precisely this prerequisite for the possibility of complete muscle relaxation with simultaneous freedom of movement of all limbs is excellently suited to carry out all conceivable health-promoting gymnastic exercises in water.

The object is achieved by the features specified in the claims. In particular, the eccentric neck opening and the variable cross-sectional areas create a head support that is well adapted to the entire chin line of the head from chin to neck, the larger cross-sectional area in the neck area ensuring that the head is held upright.

To ensure that there are no pressure points on the spine, neck muscles and larynx, special recesses can be provided for this.

Durch die AT-B-305 114 ist zwar bereits ein ringförmiger, aufblasbarer Auftriebskörper als Schwimmhilfe bekannt geworden, der eine besondere der Kontur des menschlichen Kinns angepaßte Abflachung aufweist, jedoch wird dadurch nicht eine ergonomische Anpassung vom Kinn- bis zum Nackenbereich, d.h. eine Anpassung an die normalerweise vom Kinn bis zum Nacken ansteigende Linie erreicht.AT-B-305 114 has already made a ring-shaped, inflatable float known as a buoyancy aid, which has a special flattening which is adapted to the contour of the human chin, but this does not result in an ergonomic adjustment from the chin to the neck area, i.e. an adaptation to the line that normally rises from the chin to the neck.

If the device is made of inelastic material, such as cork, it has to be divided and opened for application be. The parting lines allow adaptation to different neck thicknesses thanks to the band surrounding the part segments. With elastic material, the head and neck of the human body can be adjusted by inflating the tube to different extents. Pressure marks through the weld seams of the hose can be avoided by providing either a wide, foldable hem or a rimless inner seam.

The safety of the inflatable device can be increased by the fact that it consists of two separate chambers, each of which is able to keep the user's head above water. The two chambers can be designed and be arranged so that they close a slot facilitating the inflation when inflating. For security reasons, the slot can additionally be closed by a band.

A good adaptation of the device to the chin and neck area of the person also results from the special arrangement and shape of the inner and outer panels of the double-chamber hose.
A horizontal position of the muscle relaxation device in the water under load is supported by the angular extensions of the ring in the chin area. The closed annular tube is preferably inflated after it is put on. The inflation valve is therefore arranged in the vicinity of the chin region and can be provided with a supply line for inflation. The device can serve as a head part of an air mattress.

Dadurch können die Kammern des Schlauchs auch in angelegtem Zustand leicht aufgeblasen werden.1 shows the muscle relaxation device 1 floating in the water, which is welded together from two annular tracks 2, 3. The outer weld 4 is widened to a connecting piece 5 in a partial peripheral region. The ring-shaped device 1 has angular extensions 6 which are held together by a band 7 in the position of use. In Fig. 1 it can be clearly seen that the different Cross sections the device well the chin line 8 of the head 9 adapts. The device 1 is provided with two valves 10, 11, on which hose lines 12, 13 are attached. As a result, the chambers of the tube can be easily inflated even when they are in place.

Der abgerundete Übergang zwischen Halsöffnung 17 und Schlitz 14 bildet die Kehlkopfaussparung 18 gegenüber der Nackenaussparung 19.2 shows the arrangement of the neck slot 14 between the angular extensions 6, 6 'and the fastener tape 7 running around the narrow part 15 with the Velcro fastener 16, 16'. The rounded transition between the neck opening 17 and the slot 14 forms the larynx recess 18 in relation to the neck recess 19.

The connector 5 extends over the entire width of the annular part of the device 1 and is provided with eyelets 20 for attachment to an air mattress or a safety line. An inner web 21 is welded to the inside of the upper annular outer web 2. Outer and inner tracks 2, 3, 21 form the two air chambers 22, 23 that can be seen in FIG. 3. The weld seam located in the neck opening 17 is designed as an inner seam 24, so that no pressure point is created by the weld seam.

Auch bei dieser Ausführung sind Kehlkopf- und Nackenaussparung 18,19 vorgesehen.4 shows a simplified version of the muscle relaxation device with only one hose 25 closed all around and a valve 26 for inflation. The inner seam 24 forms a wide seam 26a in the neck opening 17, which can fit against the neck and thus also avoids pressure points. Larynx and neck recesses 18, 19 are also provided in this embodiment.

It consists of two sub-segments 27, 28. A slot 34 is formed between the partial segments 27, 28, which can be reduced or enlarged by means of a band 29 depending on the diameter of the neck opening 17. The band 29 also allows the sub-segments 27, 28 to be opened for application. The overlapping part 30 of the band 29 serves to close the device. The larynx and neck recess 31, 32 is formed by the rounded transitions of the neck opening 17 into the slots between the segments 27, 28.
