Definitions
- the present invention relates to a torque motor with hydraulic potentiometer for servo-distributor, intended in particular for the control of hydraulic cylinders and motors.
- This type of torque motor is intended to control a hydraulic potentiometer consisting of four jets mounted in a bridge.
- the output of the torque motor called a vane, varies the section of two nozzles, which generates a pressure differential proportional to the control current of the torque motor.
- This comprises magnets fixed to armatures in which is placed a core whose ends are separated from the armatures by an air gap and around which are mounted two induction coils capable of being supplied with electric current.
- the pallet is fixed by one of its ends to a bending tube itself secured to the core by its corresponding end.
- the symmetry of the magnetic circuit means that no torque acts on the core in the absence of current in the coils.
- each end of the core is polarized and is, in the air gaps, subjected to an electromagnetic force which creates a couple causing a bending of the tube, which in turn moves the paddle between the two associated nozzles.
- Some torque motors are fitted with a single magnet, and others with two. These magnets have a general U-shape in which must be machined housings for the fixing screws to the frames. As a result, these magnets have a relatively complicated geometry, which causes difficulties in manufacturing. In addition, their size is important, and they have a low coercive field, so that if the torque motor is dismantled, they must be re-magnetized before reassembly.
- the object of the invention is to remedy these drawbacks by producing a torque motor provided with magnets of simplified shape, therefore easy to manufacture, of reduced size and of strong coercive field.
- the torque motor is provided with four parallelepipedic or cylindrical magnets, made of an appropriate alloy with a strong coercive field, and placed at the rate of a pair at each end of the core.
- the magnets are made of an alloy based on rare earth and cobalt, for example a samarium-cobalt alloy.
- This type of magnet has, for an equal size with the usual magnets, an induction force two to three times higher while also having a strong coercive field. They can therefore have a much smaller overall size and weight than the conventional magnets used until now in the torque motors targeted by the invention.
- the device shown in the drawings comprises a torque motor designated by the general reference M which is the subject of the invention, and a hydraulic potentiometer P known per se, arranged to be controlled by the motor M in order to generate a differential pressure, which itself can be implemented for the control of various elements, such as jacks or hydraulic motors.
- the torque motor M comprises two metal frames 1 and 2, in which is disposed a core 3, around which are wound two induction coils 4, 5 capable of being supplied with electric current by an electric source not shown.
- the coils 4, 5 are each wrapped in a coating 10, 20 of plastic material, housed in a support 30.
- the above-mentioned parts are covered by a protective cover 6 fixed to a base 7 pierced centrally with an orifice 8 through which a bending tube 9, one end of which is fixed to the core 3 by embedding in the middle part thereof.
- the bending tube 9 ends at its end opposite to the core 3 by a disc 11, and contains a pallet 12 embedded at one of its ends in the bending tube 9.
- the disc 11 is fixed to the body 13 of the hydraulic potentiometer P, tan say that the free end 12a of the pallet 12 is positioned between two nozzles 14, 15, at equal distance x from one and the other.
- the body 13 is internally provided with two other nozzles 16, 17 housed in a pipe 18 passing through the body 13 right through to end up at outlets A and B, while the hydraulic pressure P reaches in the pipe 18 between the two nozzles 16 and 17.
- the pipe 18 Downstream of the nozzles 16, 17, the pipe 18 communicates with two conduits 19, 21 which lead respectively to the nozzles 14 and 15, which in turn allow the passage of the hydraulic liquid in a chamber extended by a pipe 22 returning to the tank hydraulic R (not shown).
- the torque motor M is provided, in accordance with the invention, with four magnets 23, 24, 25, 26, of parallelepiped shape in this embodiment, fixed to the frames 1, 2 on the basis of a pair of magnets mounted transversely on each side of one end of the core 3.
- the magnets 23, 24, 25, 26 are fixed to the frames 1, 2 by gluing, and the shims 27, 28, 29, 31, made for example of soft iron, are also fixed to the respective magnets by gluing on them.
- the magnets are made of a material having, at equal size with a conventional magnet, a much higher induction force and a strong coercive field: they can thus be constituted by an alloy based on rare earth and cobalt, for example a samarium-cobalt alloy. It is also possible to use, to form the elements 23, 24, 25, 26, a neodymium-iron-boron alloy, these examples being given for information only.
- the magnets can be produced in the form of four cylindrical pellets instead of parallelepipedic ones.
- the fact of using one of the alloys mentioned above allows, with an equal induction force with a conventional magnet, to considerably reduce the dimensions and the weight of each magnet, which can therefore be fixed to the armature corresponding by simple bonding, instead of screws as in previous embodiments.
- the simplicity of the geometry of the magnets 23, 24, 25, 26 facilitates their machining and makes it less expensive than that of conventional magnets.
- the device illustrated in the drawings operates as follows: the pressure P creates two flows: one travels through the nozzles 16, 14 on the one hand, and the other through the nozzles 17, 15 on the other hand, these two flows emerging from the potentiometer P through the pipe 22 to the tank R.
- the free end 12a of the vane 12 being at equal distance x from the nozzles 14, 15, the pressures at A and B are equal when no electric current travels through the coils 4 and 5. Indeed, no torque then acts on the core 3.
- each end of the core 3 is polarized and is located in the air gaps y, subjected to an electromagnetic force which creates a couple in the central zone O of embedding the bending tube 9 in the core 3.
- This couple causes the tube 9 to bend, which then causes the end 12a of the pallet 12 to move.
- the latter takes an equilibrium position when the reaction torque of the tube 9 is equal to the engine torque, while its free end approaches one of the nozzles 14 or 15. If for example this free end approaches the nozzle 14, this causes a rise in the hydraulic pressure at the outlet A with respect to the pressure prevailing in the outlet B.
- This pressure differential can be used as already indicated for actuating any member such as a jack or a hydraulic motor.

Abstract
Description
- - la Figure 2 est une vue en coupe suivant II-II de la Figure 1;
