Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an inflatable cover as protection for people, consisting of a mattress-like base part and a roof-like cover part placed thereon, the base part and cover part being hinged along a common side edge around a tightly connected connecting part and being connectable to one another along the opposite side edge by means of releasable connecting means .
Such a holistically inflatable tent (US-A 3,457,685) consists of a bottom part and two roof-like side parts connected as a cover part. Bottom part and cover part are detachably connected together along a common side edge. This tent is particularly suitable for camping, hunting and for military purposes. Due to its size, its weight, even if made of thin plastic film, is considerable and a pump or compressed gas is required to inflate it.
A known rescue cover (US-A4,294, 242) for hypothermic people comprises an inflatable mattress and a cylindrical shell attached thereon made of insulating material and heat radiation reflecting layers, into which the hypothermic or injured person has to be pushed after inflating the mattress. This manipulation can be painful and can result in consequential damage due to the required pressure on the body of the injured person. Self-rescue by means of such a rescue envelope is only possible as long as the person at risk is sufficiently strong and mobile.
Furthermore, a rescue bag is known (GB-A 2 087 224), which consists of a centrally folded insulating blanket. The injured person is completely received between the folded ceiling parts, the upper ceiling part having an opening which exposes the face of the injured person. Outside the folded edge, the ceiling edges can be connected to a closed pocket by a three-sided zipper connection. This rescue bag does not offer a good hold to the injured person and leads to constant displacement or twisting of the body during transport, even if lateral support rods are used for stiffening. A ceiling part always weighs on the injured, which e.g. can be detrimental to open wounds or breathing disorders.
In contrast, the present invention has for its object to provide an inflatable rescue cover, which ensures gentle positioning of injured people and good thermal protection for hypothermic people. The case should be quick and easy to handle and allow the injured person to be transported safely.
This object is achieved according to the invention on a generic cover in that the cover part is designed as a semi-cylindrical shell in the inflated state and is coated at least on its inside wall with heat radiation reflecting material.
According to this proposed solution, one long side of the cover part forming a domed roof is connected to the base part as if it could be hinged, while the opposite long side of the cover part is not connected to the base part per se. The unconnected long side of the cover part can be detachably fastened to the base part by means of Velcro or the like, the connecting means preferably also being accessible from the inside of the cover. The fact that the cover part forms a semi-cylindrical shell in the inflated state ensures that it does not in any way burden or touch the injured person.
It is essential that the inside surface of at least the cover part is covered with a vapor-tight and radiation-reflecting covering, e.g. Aluminum foil, is coated. As a result, the heat radiation emanating from the hypothermic person is reflected on the inner wall of the rescue envelope, as a result of which a heat-retaining greenhouse effect is generated.
The envelope is expediently open at its head end or can be closed by means of a curtain.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the head-side end of the bottom part of the casing is extended relative to its cover part. A curtain can be placed on the top edge of the cover, e.g. be made of aluminum foil or the like. The fuselage is well shielded from the cold outside air by the curtain; the head of the hypothermic person lies freely on the extension of the base part, so that they can breathe freely and come into contact with their surroundings. This storage is e.g. Particularly advantageous for the intubation of injured people, because it allows the doctor to work freely in the patient's head area.
As a result of its radiation-reflecting lining, the cover - inflated or as a blanket when not inflated - is also a protective cover against radiation and contamination of any kind, e.g. can be used in the event of a disaster or as NBC protection for military equipment.
With regard to further refinements of the invention, reference is made to the subclaims.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing.

In Fig. 1, a rescue cover according to the invention is shown schematically, which comprises a
In the embodiment according to Fig. 3 is the
The end of the cover part on the foot side is expediently closed by means of an insert part or inflatable together with the cover part; The bottom part and cover part are expediently inflatable independently of one another. The base part is advantageously made of a firmer material than the cover part, whereby a low overall weight must be ensured so that the cover can be easily taken by alpinists and winter athletes. A fiber-reinforced plastic film provided on one side with an aluminum layer is preferred as the material, the weight of each m 2 being less than 150 g.
