Definitions

  • the subject of the present invention is a heat exchanger and in particular a low temperature heat exchanger-recuperator comprising a casing and tubular or plate exchange surfaces mounted inside this casing.
  • the exchanger-recuperators can be of light construction.
  • the present invention relates to a heat exchanger, in particular a low temperature heat exchanger-recuperator, allowing easy and rapid replacement of the exchange surfaces, without requiring the disassembly of the entire exchanger.
  • the exchange surfaces are combined in the form of at least one module removably mounted in the envelope by sliding in the manner of a drawer.
  • the exchange surfaces of each module which may be of the tubular or plate type, made of metal, plastic, composite material, rubber or other materials, are taken between two end plates and the two end plates are mounted sliding like drawers in the enclosure.
  • this sliding of the sides of the end plates is ensured by two pairs of opposite parallel rails per module, one pair being fixed and distined to receive one of the end plates, and the other pair , intended to receive the other end plate, being movable relatively to the first in the direction perpendicular to these plates and whatever the orientation of the latter, the rails of the movable pair being biased by a tensioning tensioning device away from the rails of the other pair.
  • the movable rails for each module are interconnected, at least at their two ends, to form a movable frame and said tensioning device is hung between this movable frame and a frame fixed to the envelope.
  • a flexible cuff is disposed between said movable frame and said fixed frame to seal between the movable frame and the shell of the exchanger.
  • Removable panels are advantageously arranged as partitions between the various modules of exchange surfaces, as well as between the module or modules of exchange surfaces and the walls of the envelope, so as to close off the preferred passages. These panels can advantageously be slidably mounted in rails fixed to the shell of the exchanger.
  • the single figure of the drawing is a front view, partially in section, of an exchanger with two flexible tube modules.
  • an exchanger crossed vertically by a fluid and perpendicular to the plane of the drawing by another fluid comprises a casing 1 formed mainly of two opposite side walls 2, an upper flange 3 and a lower flange 4 for connection to a fluid circuit, as well as front and rear flanges for connection to another fluid circuit.
  • the front flange like the rear flange not shown, comprises two vertical wings 5 as well as horizontal wings formed by two upper panels 6 and two removable lower panels 7.
  • Each rail 9 located opposite a side wall 2 and the rail 9 opposite median, are interconnected by crosspieces 10 to form a frame 11 movable vertically.
  • a frame 12 is fixed, at a distance below each movable frame 11, rigidly to the casing 1.
  • Tension springs 13 are hooked on the one hand to the movable frame 11 and on the other hand to the fixed frame 12, these springs 13 tending to attract the frame 11 to the frame 12, that is to say to move the movable rails 9 away from the fixed rails 8.
  • the rails 8 and 9 are used to receive two modules of exchange surfaces 14 formed, in the example shown, of parallel tubes 15 whose ends are fixed to opposite end plates 16 and 17.
  • Each of the two modules 14 can be engaged in the casing 1, its upper end plate 16 sliding on two opposite upper rails 8 and its lower end plate 17 in two opposite lower rails 9.
  • the lower rails 9 are pulled down, which tends to distance the lower rails 9 and the upper rails 8, therefore the lower end plate 17 and the upper end plate 16, that is to say, to stretch the tubes 15. At the same time, this ensures compensation for the thermal expansions of the tubes 15.
  • a flexible cuff 18 disposed between each fixed lower frame 12 and each movable upper frame 11 ensures, at this location, that is to say below the tubes 15, the sealing of the circuit of the fluid passing through the exchanger vertically.
  • Panels 19 are also slidably mounted between upper U-shaped rails, formed by rails 8, and lower U-shaped rails 20, fixed one on the opposite side walls 2 of the casing 1 and the other at mid distance between the opposite side walls 2, above the movable lower rails 9. The removable panels 19 thus ensure the closing of the preferential passages between the neighboring modules 14, as partitions, and between the modules 14 and the walls 2 of the envelope.
  • the panels 6 and 7 removably fixed cover the end plates 16 and 17 of the exchange surface modules 14 and thus maintain these modules in position .
  • the exchange surfaces could be plate instead of being tubular.
  • the exchanger according to the invention could comprise only one, in which case it would be devoid of intermediate partition 19, or comprise for example three, four, five modules and two, three, four panels 19.
  • the number and arrangement of the rails 8, 9, 20 for the end plates 16 and 17 and for the panels 19 should be chosen accordingly.
  • variants are conceivable for the sliding guide of the end plates of the exchange surface modules, in particular for the movable rails, and for the means for tensioning and compensating for thermal expansions of the exchange surfaces.
