Abstract

The apparatus for separating folded and perforated or creased endless or reel papers, which form an uninterrupted stack, comprises a conveyor belt 9 conveying the same to a separating station, in order to permit an automatic separation of the stack into individual stacks 7a with a predetermined number of paper sheets. For this purpose, a separating sword 2 is moved preferably from below between the sheets of the stack, so that a stack 7a is formed with the desired number of individual sheets. The small cavity 10 running in the longitudinal direction and formed by the separating sword 2 is used for receiving a knife 4, which is moved at right angles over the stack, in order to separate the same at a perforation or fold. Pivotable removal bolts 1 are used for conveying away the separated stack 7a and for transfer to a second conveyor belt 5. The removal bolts 1 are then moved back into the starting position, so that the separating sword 2 can be extended out of the conveying area of the stack and a new separating process can be carried out. This permits an automatic separation into small stacks with predetermined numbers at virtually any random point.

Description

This device is used to process a continuous paper, which forms a corresponding stack by folding with a corresponding perforation or by folding. The individual papers are printed, folded, perforated or folded in an upstream device. If necessary, several layers are placed on top of one another with carbon paper in between. A continuous stack of the corresponding individual papers emerges from the printing and folding machine. Usually the folds or folds are alternately up or down. In order to pack the papers according to certain quantities, for example 1000, 2000, 3000 etc., it is necessary to separate the continuous stack at the perforation or at the folds.

So far, this has been done by hand, for example by the printing machine applying a red mark after the desired number, which then indicates to the operator that separation must be carried out at this point.

The invention is based on the object of creating a device of the type mentioned at the outset which carries out the separation automatically and at the same time ensures safe further transport of the separated stack.

This object is achieved by the characterizing part of claim 1.

According to the invention, a separating sword is preferably pushed between the papers from below after receipt of a corresponding counting pulse, so that these are separated. A stack is then created in the conveying direction in front of the separating sword, which has the desired number of connected arches. The separating sword is moved into the vicinity of the fold or the corresponding perforation, which then lies at the top, so that a hollow space is created which is transverse to the conveying direction. A knife, such as a letter opener, can then be inserted into and through this cavity. The knife is relatively blunt so that the perforation can really be cut off.

The device can then also be designed as specified in claims 2 to 6. The use of a removal bar which is movable and pivotable in the conveying direction represents a particularly advantageous embodiment for handling the relatively unstable separated stack and for further processing.

    • Fig. 1 eine schematische Seitenansicht einer Ausführungsform einer Vorrichtung nach der Erfindung;
    • Fig. 2 die Einzelheit X der Fig.1.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing using an exemplary embodiment:
  • It shows:
    • Figure 1 is a schematic side view of an embodiment of a device according to the invention.
    • Fig. 2 shows the detail X of Fig.1.

Diese wird durch entsprechende Schienen gebildetThe device shown in the drawing consists of a first conveyor belt 9, which is a stack of continuous paper from a printing machine, not shown records. This stack 7 consists of papers folded in a zigzag shape and perforated in the folds, possibly of several layers of different types of paper. The folds with the perforation lie alternately above and below. The first conveyor belt 9 is directed slightly obliquely upwards. At its end at the highest point, the conveyor belt 9 merges into a conveyor plane 11 which is inclined downwards. This is formed by appropriate rails

The actual separation device is located at the transition point. This consists of a separating sword 2 that can be moved up and down and a cutting device 8 with a knife 4. Details are shown in FIG. 2.

In the area of the conveying plane 11 there is a removal bar 1 with a tilting back 6 directed at right angles to the conveying direction. The removal bar 1 and the tilting back 2 can be pivoted as shown in dot-dash lines in FIG. 1. Furthermore, they can be moved up to the end of the conveying plane 11 lying below. There begins the second conveyor belt 5, which leads to a further processing device.

In operation, the stack 7 is transferred from the printing and folding machine, not shown, to the first conveyor belt 9. A continuous stack of a correspondingly large number of individual sheets is created. When this stack has reached the highest point and thus the parting line due to the conveyance by the second belt, there is an acceptance bar and the first sheet comes into contact with it. With the conveying speed of the first conveyor belt 9, the take-off bar moves obliquely downward in the conveying plane 11 in the conveying direction, namely until the corresponding number of sheets in the to be separated stack 7a is present. This can be controlled by counting pulses from the printing press. Then the separation sword 2 is advanced. The separating sword 2 and the removal bar 1 then assume the position shown in solid lines in FIG. 1.

The separating sword leaves an elongated cavity 10 at the top (FIG. 2) into which the relatively blunt knife 4, controlled by the separating device 8, can then enter. The knife is moved across the stack and cuts it off. The knife is then moved back to its original position.

The removal bar 1 is then pivoted together with the tilting back 6 into the position shown in broken lines in FIG. 1. At the same time, these parts are moved downwards with the separated stack 7a lying on them. This is where the separated stack is transferred to the second conveyor belt 5. Then the take-off bar with the tilting back is pivoted back into the starting position (tilting back 6 parallel to the conveying plane 11 and moved upwards into the starting position. The tilting back 6 is spring-loaded so that it corresponds accordingly If the removal bar has reached its highest position, the separating sword 2 can be moved back so that a new stack 7a can be put together in the upper part of the conveyor level 11. The process is repeated then.

The movement of the take-off bar 1 with the tilting back 6 from the position I to the position II (FIG. 1) takes place at the speed of the first conveyor belt 9. The movement from position II to position III and back to position I takes place very quickly, since during this movement the separating sword 2 prevents a further advance of the stack 7. However, this is normally possible since the stack 7 has a corresponding elasticity. If this is not possible, care would have to be taken that the separating sword 2 also moves at the speed of the first conveyor belt 9 during the "absence" of the removal bar. However, the decrease or transition period is, as I said, usually so short that this movement of the separating sword can be dispensed with.

Das Messer ist relativ stumpf, damit an der Perforation getrennt und nicht an einer anderen Stelle geschnitten wird.2, it becomes clear that the separating sword 2 leaves an elongated cavity 10 open at the top, into which the relatively blunt knife 4 can be inserted and then pushed forward for cutting at right angles to the conveying direction. The knife is relatively blunt so that the perforation is separated and not cut in another place.

The invention relates to a device for separating folded and perforated or folded continuous papers, which form a continuous stack. This stack is conveyed on a conveyor to a separation station in order to enable the continuous stack to be automatically separated into individual stacks with a certain number of sheets of paper. For this purpose, a separating sword 2 is preferably pushed from below between the sheets of the stack, so that a stack 7a with the desired number of individual sheets is separated. The small cavity formed by the separating sword and extending in the longitudinal direction serves to hold a knife 4, which then extends across the stack is moved to separate it at a perforation or a fold. A removal bar 6, which is preferably pivotable, serves to remove the separated stack 7a and to pass it on to a conveyor belt 5. The removal bar 6 is then moved back into the starting position, so that the separating sword 2 can then be moved out of the conveying area of the stack and a new separation process can be carried out. This enables automatic separation into small stacks with certain quantities and simultaneous proper handling of the unstable stack.
