Bei Steckverbindern der oben beschriebenen Art besteht die Schwierigkeit, daß die Forderung nach einer Mindestzahl von Steckzyklen bisher nur durch Verwendung von Gehäuseteilen aus antimagnetischem, rostfreiem Stahl zu verwirklichen war. Andererseits war es mit diesen Materialien nicht möglich, die häufig geforderte hohe Abschirmwirkung zu erzielen. So erreicht man bei einem bestimmten Steckertyp bei Verwendung von Stahl der Sorte xl2CrNi 188 für Stecker und Dose lediglich eine Schirmwirkung von nicht ganz 60 dB. Die häufig geforderte Schirmwirkung von mehr als 70 dB war dabei nur mit besonderen Bemühungen zu verwirklichen.
